US Navy says assault rifles were seized from Persian Gulf boats

A boarding team from the guided-missile destroyer Jason Dunham captured more than 1,000 AK-47 rifles from a vessel sailing in the Gulf of Aden.
Navy officials said the warship intercepted the stateless skiff while it was drifting without engine power on Tuesday.
The boarding team determined that the vessel was not flagged to any nation and then discovered the cache of weapons.
The Navy’s Bahrain-based 5th Fleet gave the updated total in a statement Wednesday.
It boarded a skiff and a dhow, a traditional ship in the Persian Gulf, during routine checks in the Gulf of Aden on Aug. 28.
The Navy added: “The origin and intended destination of the skiff have not yet been determined.“

I took a look at them but I’ll pass. For what they are asking, I can buy a much better 45 w/o ‘slight rust and pitting’. Anyway, I have a nice 45, thank you.
I had thought of buying one or two to resell, thinking their history and pedigree would allow me to make a profit. But there is no profit to be made with their asking price. Asked a few gun shop owners I go to church with if they would be interested in buying them from me, and they told me they would sell me much better used 45s for less money. Both said they would not be buying directly from the government. I’m glad I asked gun shop owners or I might have tried to buy one for resale or as a collectable.
They should part them out.

I still have my Colt 1911 70 series Gold Cup with two springs; One for hardball and one for semi wad cutters. I used to reload away back using a CH press and I had to change the Primer dies back and forth from small to large pistol primers re loading .38 wad cutters and .45 semi wad cutters. What a pain in the butt to install them so they worked. Used bullseye powder which I found out was dirty, hence my black shooting hand after I was done.
Federal started using small primers a few years ago. I won’t buy the stuff because who wants to sort .45 brass?
Two different size primers in the same tray can ruin your day.

To show their love of peace, these hunting weapons will only be fired into the air during Death to the Great Satan Celebrations, and burnings of the Flag there of. And BTW, these can’t be assault rifles, there is no chainsaw bayonet lug thingie attachment.
