Navy Commander Adolph Garza busted
According to Stars & Stripes, US Navy Commander Adolph Garza pleaded guilty in a San Diego federal courtroom yesterday to charges that he had bought drugs over the dark web;
The San Diego resident admitted using the dark web to make multiple purchases of ecstasy, ketamine, cocaine, amphetamine and other controlled substances over an 18-month period from August 2016 to March of this year.
Garza was arrested during a March 7 raid at his Hillcrest condo, according to Sherri Walker Hobson, an assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of California.
While serving the search warrant at Garza’s residence, inspectors from the U.S. Postal Service and special agents from Homeland Security Investigations and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service seized ecstasy, cocaine, ketamine, amphetamine and other controlled substances. They also discovered sealers, packaging and mailing materials, including DVD cases that were used to conceal what was being shipped.
Postal inspectors discovered the illicit shipments.
From the Times of San Diego;
According to his plea agreement, Garza, a 23-year Navy veteran, used multiple dark web market places to order controlled substances for distribution in San Diego and beyond.
Garza admitted that on at least 15 occasions, the drugs he ordered were the same ones seized by U.S. Customs and Border Protection at airports in San Francisco, New York and Chicago; and by U.S. Postal Inspectors and Homeland Security Investigations agents in San Diego.
From the San Diego Tribune;
Garza is set to be sentenced by U.S. District Judge Cynthia Bashant. While he faces up to 20 years in federal custody, prosecutors agreed in a plea deal to recommend “the low end of the advisory guideline,” though it’s not yet clear what the advisory guideline will be.
Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 10.

Idiot. Put him under the jail.
…under the jail?
Is that Navy speak?
😉
BTW, AW1Ed: Thoughts and prayers to you for your procedure on Monday. You will do well.
Thanks. Looking forward to being healthy again.
23 years in the Navy and now he’ll start a new 20 year career.
I’m reminded of a story a sailor friend of mine told me. He was in formation while their commander was presenting awards. At the tail end he called two names to the surprise of those two. Then the officer proceeded to read the charges of drug dealing against them after which they were escorted to the brig.
That’s a helluva way to get everyone’s attention.
Way back in the day, Hack was riding the shuttle bus on Camp Pendleton when one of the fellow bus passengers recognized him as a fellow inmate of MCCES. So we start catching up with each other, and he tells a similar story as yours. Hack files it under “Yeah, right. Just like the Marine getting an Article 15 who jumps up on the CO’s desk, whips out his wallet, and says Beam me up Scottie, I’m in a world of shit”. Several weeks later, while serving at 3rd Amtracks, he sees the same thing happen not once, but twice. I can’t recall the first guy by name, but the second time that it happened, we were assembled for the 07:00 formation. First ten minutes, nobody comes out to have us fall in. 07:10 the door opens from the Company XO’s Office, and he walks out with two “civilians” in tie dyed t-shirts, cut off shorts, flip flops and mirrored sun glasses. They looked like two hippies that just escaped from a Grateful Dead concert. So, the XO comes up, the Company goes to attention, and he takes the report. Then, LCpl Joe Shit The Ragman is called to the center. Somewhat confused, he marches forward, stops in front of the XO, and salutes. Jerry Garcia and Bob Weir look at each other and nod, just like Joe Friday and Bill Gannon would, they come up, flash their badges, throw him against a car, frisk him, handcuff him, and drag him away. The XO then says “Platoon Commanders, carry out the plan of the day.” Several days later, Ragman has been released from confinement, and he’s back in the Comm Shop bitching how his dad is a lawyer, and he is going to sue the Marine Corps. Sgt K. asks him why he is going to sue the Marine Corps. “Because they said that I am a drug dealer.” Sgt K. responds with “But you are a drug dealer.” Ragman they says “Well, they still can’t say that.” I don’t ever recall reading that the Marine Corps lost a defamation… Read more »
Sea Story Alert!
One of the more vivid learning experiences a CO of mine would provide was All Hands Captain’s Mast on the hangar deck. One that stands out in my mind is the Plane Captain who gun-decked* taking fuel samples, a major safety violation, not to mention breaking the trust between aircrew and maintainers. The Skipper was royally pissed off, and made sure EVERY ONE knew it.
*falsified. he would take the existing sample, erase the old date grease-penciled on the lid, and write that day’s date. no need to get all messy with an actual fuel sample.
Gun-decked = pencil-whipped?
You mean, “This is no shit!”
Asshole.
Can’t find a pic of him anywhere. I guess we’ll have to wait for his prison ID photo.
Found his occupation, 2/17 Air Cav (see my comment below)…
I found one;

Wrong man.
This Garza’s first name is ADOLPH, not VICTOR.
Oops. Hell, if I don’t screw up at least once a day I simply don’t feel complete.
He is in freaking San Diego CA!!! He could have easily found his dope locally but instead had it shipped to him???? What a ruh-tard
*Sigh*
This Dude is a DENTIST with the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, CA:
http://npino.com/dentist/1205838695-dr.-adolph-c-garza/
Hmmmm…the 2nd Navy personnel of Dental background featured this week on TAH.
Guess the Navy did not pay him enough to be a Dentist that he had to turn to buying and selling drugs and distributing those drugs to Texas.
He’s a dentist and needs to order drugs over the Internet?
Another question is why would a career dentist need to be dealing drugs? Gambling debts? He could retire from the service and go into private practice and make plenty of money with far, far less risk.
Mason:
Garza was buying and distributing illegal drugs and not in private practice.
Good question as to why he was doing all of this. As of today, he is 54 years old, which may be a factor into him going into private practice. He also most likely would not have the funds to open a private practice, since he was drawing O5 pay or possibly Contracter pay with the Navy.
No telling what motivates folks to earn money illegally. As you shared, it could be gambling…or alimony/child support, paying off education, loans, mortgages, lifestyle…or just plain greed.
Crime does not pay.
they going to have to chance his address to FT Leavenworth on that page !
And will also no doubt get a dismissal from the service, meaning no retirement pay, bennies, etc.
And even in Californukistan, the medical/dental licensing boards take a rather dim view of their members dealing, so watch his license get yanked too.
Hope it was fucking worth it, dude. You want fries with that, sir? Get used to that phrase.
I have to wonder if he will also face court martial for the UCMJ drug violations and conduct unbecoming an officer, or will he be allowed to submit his resignation quietly.
If his paygrade started with an E, the command would be nailing him to the wall.
Here is a very interesting breakdown of Garza’s case:

Thanks for the link, AP. Why people do such idiotic things we’ll never know. He should have been looking forward to a decent retirement and possibly another career.
My guess is he probably tried it once and got away with it. Just like bank robbers though, they keep on going until they finally do get caught.
If he needed money so bad, why didn’t he just join AMWAY and rope his subordinates into it like other service members do?
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
The military is required to report to all licensing authorities (presumably this pecker head is licensed in one or more states depending where he went to dental school)
ANY action on his ability to maintain a restriction-free profile in the USN (federal). Any action on his privileges and credentialing (legal issues like this is an example)by his Command is required to be reported to all state licensing boards. So if he ever tried to enter the private world of dentistry some day he would be radioactive.
I tried to get into dental school but they said my hands were not nearly hairy enough.
CAPT Bones USN (ret)
Golf clap…..
If you go to link below, you will see that his Dental License was issued from Washington, DC on 12 January 1994 with an Expiration Date of 31 December 2019.
His License number is DEN5692.
Type in either his License Number or name:

Where was Gibbs in all this?
So they went through all of this trouble to investigate with multiple agencies and then they let him plea and don’t want the max sentence.
Fuck off. His is horse shit to the max.
Can stupid qualify as a carreer ending injury? This is almost t5be dumbest thing Ive heard of. Slam the jaw breakers ass, he knew better.
Legit Question:
Who in their right mind names their child Adolf?
MCPO OUT!
Sorry. Adolph
What kind of parents name their kid Adolph?
Can you imagine a kid with that name in high school?
Yef, since you asked:
In 1847, Joseph and Helens Kuhrs of Prussia named their son Adolph.
That was a very common first name during that timeframe in that geographic region.
Adolph came to the U.S. in 1868. His last name was changed. The rest is history.
Can you guess what that name is? ( Hint: It’s not Bud Lite).
😎
“Kuhrs” looks like it would sound a lot like “Coors.”
Boy, after trading this story, I feel like a Harvard graduate today!!
23 years down the tube!!!
