Democrat Media finally succeeds…

| July 12, 2018

Reading the comments following blog Thomas Lifson’s Saturday article on the latest Dem/media sleaze attack upon a Republican political figure, Congressman Jim Jordan, I found one that immediately resonated with me as perhaps significantly consequential to the coming election and even farther into the future. Commenter Skeptic wrote:

My rule is that if it comes from the legacy media, it is false. My new policy is to not care what is said about Trump or his supporters or even whether it is true or not. The enemy of my enemy is my friend and nothing else matters. In this case nothing deserves a second look. It is all lies.

That 21st Century declaration of independence from malicious media mind control gripped me because it so letter-perfectly described my own response to this latest campaign by the media and the Democrat dirty operations, and I suspect that of millions of other Americans. We are fed up with this endless parade of sleazy character assassins and their claims of past sexual sins against Donald Trump or other Republicans that the liberal media always take between their teeth and romp with, ever so gleefully.

What the so-called legacy media now has left to chew on is their shabby legacy of distrust and disbelief, having squandered that most precious coin of the realm, public trust. When even long time Democrats finally are turning away from the party in disgust, appalled by such seedy tactics and shameful media slander, perhaps it is time for those who control the output of these media organizations to heed a bit of ancient wisdom. Both media moguls and Democrat leaders should ponder the biblical admonition that “The wages of sin are death,” for surely their treachery is destroying their followings as the #WalkAway movement is demonstrating, a phenomenon that is as much about distrust of the media as it is about the loony leftism of the party. While they’re pondering, those same leaders might also give some consideration to Aesop’s fable about the boy who cried wolf until no one believed him.

If Skeptic’s creed is as widely representative of the American populace as I suspect, then it shows that the socialist fanaticism adopted by the Democrats and their media mouthpieces has finally succeeded in destroying their own credibility outside their urban liberal enclaves and in the process the continued viability of both.

Good post, Poe.

I should add that the media has blown so much of their credibility on silly stuff, too. Sure, the Army discharges story and the endless Russia stuff is egregious and stupid, and causes normals to tune them out, but they even lied about things like Trump feeding fish! Remember that one?

Well…was it worth it, guys? Do you think even one person changed their mind on Trump, or became even more opposed to him, because he dumped some shit in a koi pond? They lie about every single thing, no matter how minuscule.

Fuck the media. They’ve made their bed; they can lay in it forever.

👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 For your post, and for Poe’s thread.

“There are six things that the LORD strongly dislikes, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers”! Proverbs 6:16-19 Dimocrat party, media TAKE NOTE! You will one day answer for these lies!

this. though I also point out that the enemy of my enemy is also my enemy, and keep a wary eye on the conditions of my newfound “alliance.”

else, it goes green on blue.

I had hoped when Trump was elected that the media (other than Fox of course) that had been on bending knee to Obama for eight years would turn a skeptical eye to the White House and examine what hi-jinks come out of the presidential palace. A critical examination of what government is doing is much better than being a cheer leading squad and makes for a healthy republic.

Nope. Instead they focus on what staffers are look like and call them crude names like school yard boys, talk about what the First Lady is wearing and things they don’t like about her and simply make things up when there is no bad news to be found. I think my expectations were a bit high.

Ex-PH2

Oh, come on now! The medai weren’t on bended knees! They were kowtowing to bodaprez!

If you’re on bended knee, you can still look up and see The Ruler. But when you kowtow, you’re on both knees, forehead touching the ground, ass in the air, waiting for someone to give you the hard and nasty in the backside!

They’ve been asses-up for eight long years and when they straightened up in the late fall of 2016 and had to face reality, the blood drained out of what little they have in the way of brains.

Thought youse guys all knew that.

Excellent….we knew, but just were not as eloquent as you are LOL 😉

After reading this, thought immediately of Pogo: ” We have met the enemy and he is us.”

Thank you for your well written post.

The internet is a big place. Nobody is forcing you to visit Enquirer-esque websites for news. Just stay away from sites you don’t trust and don’t read their articles, your blood pressure will thank you.

Easy said, where do you go for good HONEST news anymore? Even FOX is b.s.ing us a lot anymore!

Yef

On the contrary. Thanks to the internetz the monopoly of the legacy media is gone, and facts come out into the light, as proven by TAH and many others.

Critical thinking is a healthy habit.

Are we sure this is the real Yef? Whoever it is said something that made sense.

Has to be an impersonator. Last time we heard from Yef, it was childlike in its inquisitiveness.

I don’t think this is the Real Yef.

You are correct, Poe. A lot of people are waking up to the lies.

When the smear campaign starts, I look at who is doing the ‘smearing’, not at the target of the smear.

Once you find out who is behind it … that tells you everything you need to know about it.

Enjoying your posts, Poe.

How about the NYC daily news. Every other day the headlines blast the POTUS. My Sister buys it every morning but not for the politics. She doesn’t even vote. They really don’t like the NYPD and after they headlined something really anti PD, the news trucks that dropped off the papers in the middle of the night to the news stands were suddenly ticketed when seen going up on the sidewalk to make the deliveries. Love it.

LC

My new policy is to not care what is said about Trump or his supporters or even whether it is true or not. The enemy of my enemy is my friend and nothing else matters. In this case nothing deserves a second look. It is all lies.

So, ah,… even if it’s true, it’s lies. Got it.

There’s distrusting the media and then there’s abandoning all logic and reason. This is the latter.

ex-OS2

What is truth?

Mason

How many times do you need to be lied to by someone before you completely discount everything they say, even when true? Boy crying “wolf!” situation. I think that’s where the commentator is coming from.

Yup, Poe’s back.

Be thou not hard upon thyself, Good Poetrooper! Patience must be practiced.

Take a deep breath.

Close your eyes and imagine one of those media critters right in front of you, curled up in a tight ball, weeping.

In your mind’s eye, pull back one foot, aim straight, and kick hard.

Imagine the media critter flying through the air at the lightest touch of your kick, never to return.

Smile. Repeat. Smile again.

Meditation upon doing this kind of thing will not only relieve stress, it will also stir warmth in the cockles of your soul.

Ex-PH2

Meditating upon such things, which I did when I was skating, is sometimes also called visualization.

It allows one to focus on the subject at hand, allows for follow-through to a successful effort, and also provides a certain degree of relaxation. It’s something about endorphins. Endorphins make people happy, akin to wet dreams.

I got it from Jola, my skating coach, and Michael Jordan got it from Phil Jackson.

My compliments, PT. That response is fit for framing.

2/17 Air Cav

I see now that you had more than one since LC’s post. I was referring to your response to him.

Hondo

There’s distrusting the media and then there’s abandoning all logic and reason. This is the latter.

Hardly.

The statement you quote – which could have been better worded, IMO, but is clear enough for a reasonably intelligent individual to “get” if they’re not a slave to ideology – is not an “abandonment of reason” (to paraphrase you). Rather, it’s a statement of the fact that the media today blends lies and fiction, with political intent, so thoroughly that it’s virtually impossible to sort truth from fiction in their “reporting”. Everything is spun, and truth is secondary. Pertinent facts are omitted if contrary to the agenda; facts that “fit” are created as necessary.

In fact, calling what most of the MSM creates today “reporting” is a misnomer. In general, what the media today reports more properly should be termed “propaganda” vice “news” – e.g., a mixture of truth and lies whose primary purpose is not to inform the public, but to sway public opinion to support their preferred cause.

The statement you quote is simply a restatement of the underlying reason that even Soviet subjects didn’t believe Pravda and chose to believe underground sources (like the VOA) instead. They knew Pravda was nothing but propaganda – so they discounted everything it said as BS, and went elsewhere for the truth.

I gave you credit for being more intelligent than that, LC. You might want to take off the ideological blinders. You’ll be surprised at how much different the world looks when you’re looking at it directly vice only seeing its left profile.

Hondo

Wrote the above before I noticed that PT had covered much of the same in his reply.

Great minds, etc . . . .

2/17 Air Cav

“I gave you credit for being more intelligent than that, LC.” So, too, did I. He lost me entirely with his comments on the fictitious Trump/Russia collusion business. Under the guise of being open minded, he consistently avoids acknowledging what is plainly obvious. His style has always been soft, leading many of us to give him a pass. It appears those days are ending, if not over.

Mason

The thing is the vast majority of the country doesn’t care about politics and gets their “news” in little bits here and there in their Facebook feed, passing a newspaper at the gas station, or while waiting in line at the airport. The bulk of that news is brought to you by the “trustworthy” MSM. When you meet regular people, especially babyboomers and older, you see they have bought into the narrative of the MSM. Take my dad for example. He doesn’t follow politics, watches the evening news, but I don’t think he really cares. Trade war with China? Who cares, he buys American. 🙂 Anyway, a couple weeks back one of his buddies (also not very political) brought up how Trump wasn’t permitting migrant laborers to come in and work. They related a sob story of a guy in SoCal that is “losing his business” because he doesn’t get cheap Mexican labor. They actually believed that letting migrants in on work permits to do yard work is a good idea based on the stories they’d seen. So I confronted them with some logic. Can’t hire cheap Mexicans? Hire Americans. The American workers want higher wages? Well then that’s the market, pay them. I’ve no sympathy for someone who has made loads of money on the cheap labor gravy train of guest workers and is now paying the piper. Never mind that it is exploiting the migrants as well. I think the majority of people know that the MSM is full of lies told by liars who smile and say “oops” and all is forgiven. However, these people aren’t the type to go out and look at alternative news. So even though they know they’re being lied to and manipulated, they still buy into at least some of the BS. Maybe not 100%, but if even 25% sticks, then they’ve gotten some of the narrative through. When 100% of your news coverage is that America is evil, Trump is evil, Republicans are Nazis, and we are mere days away from the world overheating and exploding because I microwaved a frozen… Read more »

Please, Someone, Anyone, remind these self-important twits about Bill Clinton getting a blowjob from Monica Lewinsky in the Oval Office while he’s on the phone with the Secretary of State.

Please also remind them that Monica gave a very detailed description of what she did to the prosecutor about the whole thing.

I’m sure these precocious birdbrains will say “Oh, well, it wasn’t REAL sex, you know” but since none of them know what REAL sex is, that response is baloney, and we all know it.

I’m with the ‘Skeptic’ person who described it all perfectly.

Let them keep pounding that drum as loudly as they can, and they will continue to drive moderately conservative Democrats to the righthand side of the political fence when election time comes around.

They have no other drum to pound, you know. And at some point, the drumskin will break. So let it be with the leftwinger media. May they rot in the swill of their own making.

Maybe we should call them Piggies? Or is that an insult to hogs in general?

Sorry about the use of graphic language, but I’m no naive kid and neither are any of you, except maybe Yef.

AW1Ed

…continue to drive moderately conservative Democrats to the righthand side of the political fence when election time comes around.

Or at least stay home on Election Day.

OWB

Good stuff, both the OP and the comments. However, I will take slight issue with the oft repeated opinion that the DNC controls the media. It could just as easily be the other way around. If the media is controlling the DNC, some aspects of this mess might make more sense.

Not that it really matters all that much except in the tactics one might use to counter them.
