Indiana VA and Gay Pride flag
Bobo sends us a link to WANE which reports that the VA Northern Indiana Health Care System in Fort Wayne removed five service flags so they could fly a gay pride rainbow flag at their facility.
The sight drew plenty of attention from residents and visitors to the VA. NewsChannel 15 received several questions and comments and photos from viewers.
The VA Northern Indiana Healthcare System issued the following statement:
“Logistically, we could not add a flag without removing a flag from the poles outside our VA. Rather than single out one military branch’s flag to be temporarily replaced with the LGBT flag, we chose to remove all of them for one day in order to show our dedication to serving all Veterans equally.”
The VA said service flags were put back up before the end of the business day.

There are currently over 21 million veterans amongst the population of the US count of 330 Million. So, about 6% of the population are veterans. However, MOST of that is from WW2, Korea, Viet Nam, etc., eras. Back when service was more of a norm, compared to now where being in the military is “icky” and beneath millennial expectations of service.
Since 9/11 less than 1% have served. About 9 million veterans utilize, at least minimally, the VA system. (Even for that one annual check-up) I believe it’s about 5 million? that use it for their primary health care.
We were talking about the percentage of LGBTs in the general population.
Go out and see how many men you can get to suck your dick and how many women won’t per 1000 and report back Yef.

When I go to my CBOC or hospital. There’s pamphlets either at the MSA counter or the waiting room that show VAs policy of helping all veterans. Regardless of orientation . To me that should be enough. This is clearly of case of going too far. Let’s not forget that there are plenty of LGTBQ vets who take pride in their branch of service who would find this an affront. At no point should the flag take precedence over service flags. And while I think that antg deserving veteran should be treated equally at VA. I feel no group should be singled out for special attention
If the pamphlet isn’t enough for the LuGButTQRSTUVWXYZ crowd, the VA flies the American Flag. Should be enough for everybody doing business with the VA.

I have no problem with homosexuals but to justify it as showing “equality” of a few over the service of all(across all branches) just nullifies any kind of communication that the VA and the subsequent military branches supported by the VA are truly “one team, one fight.”
Fights against service related disabilities, PTSD, financial issues, family issues requires a team effort and has no sexual orientation. This whole boondoggle is in bad taste. No one is saying to pull the flag down; hell put up flags on the lawn or posters celebrating “equality” but don’t pull down the flags of the branches you support. And don’t tell this crusty old SNCO that this is an effort to show “equality,” I guarantee those whom feel included in the pride movement are in the minority; especially in the military. Even so, Those who are part of that lifestyle and in service, very rarely make their preference about themselves when in such scenarios (IE; VA, etc.)

Something annoying about the LGBTQWTFBBQ flag story is that the decision to fly the flag is attributed to the “VA Northern Indiana Healthcare System.” In point of fact, the VA Northern Indiana Healthcare System could not have ordered the flag flown because the VA Northern Indiana Healthcare System is not a person.
The reality is that within the VA system, an individual or group of people decided to fly the flag. Rather than face the possible outrage of such a decision, such an individual or group has used anonymity to evade consequences in what amounts to a form of factional cowardice. It also gives the impression that such a decision is the result of a VA institutional consensus when it’s more likely the result of a few pushing an LGBTQWTFBBQ agenda.
Anybody naive enough to believe such a faction representing homosexuals wants real equality, and not to be put on a pedestal, should be asking the question: Where’s the flag for the heterosexual straight people?
They still use the tactics that were developed during the days of “ACT-UP”… which are right out of Alinsky’s book. The “1%er’s in the LGBTQWTFBBQ community that like throwing it in our faces are our “betters”… just ask them.

Honestly, this falls into the “who gives a damn category” for me.
I have a friend who served with me who is bisexual, and a proud Liberal. While we were deployed, she was a harder worker than half of the “hard chargers” in our unit, and did more to make sure that our mission was a success than 2/3 of the unit.
While we were downrange, I also had the opportunity to debate her on quite a few matters, and when she received unwanted attention from guys, I took them off to the side and quietly reminded them of the fact that we had been told by our platoon sgt prior to our deployment that ANY harassment of her was grounds for an asswhooping from me and a couple of other guys in the platoon, and there would be no questions asked by the chain of command.
I am proud to call her my friend, and still talk to her weekly.
So….
