From Dallas, Texas;

Authorities were called to a house in the 2600 block of Highland Road around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday about a shooting call.

When they arrived, the 28-year-old man was found dead from a gunshot wound.

Neighbors and the 54-year-old homeowner called 9-1-1 after the shooting, and police conducted several interviews.

The homeowner was released after talking with police, but a murder offense was generated and will be referred to a grand jury.

From Jefferson County, West Virginia;

While authorities were responding to the scene, they received information that there was an armed intruder and a gunshot had been fired. [Harold] Marsh was found in the stairwell with a bullet wound to his arm when officers arrived.

Dougherty said an investigation determined Marsh was armed with an assault-style rifle and a small-caliber handgun when he kicked in the door of his ex-girlfriend’s apartment.

He said some of the residents confronted Marsh and were able to wrestle the rifle away, but the pistol discharged during the struggle and the bullet struck him in the arm.
