Seven service members killed in helicopter crash

CNN reports that seven members of the military were killed in a Pave Hawk helicopter crash in Iraq;
Army Brig. Gen. Jonathan P. Braga, the director of operations for the combined task force leading the fight against ISIS in the region, said all personnel aboard the HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopter were killed.
The military said the crash, which is under investigation, “does not appear to be a result of enemy activity.”
The names of those aboard the helicopter were not immediately released pending the notification of next of kin.

RIP, Warriors.
News this AM said they ran afoul of power lines.
Tragic. Ok, Military, that’s enough things falling out of the sky for a while, please.
Fair winds and following seas…
Ok, Military, that’s enough things falling out of the sky for a while, please.
This, goddamn it.
Agreed.
Every loss hits me harder the older I get. Sad.
BTW. Several MSM outlets were reporting yesterday the area where the bird went down even before military announced there was an incident and before search and rescue (S&R) was dispatched.
Again, putting lives at risk. If there were survivors the adversaries could have surged on crash site and same for responding S&R.
Fox reported: There are reports of a possible helicopter crash in Iraq, we will await official word from the Pentagon.
I will never forget how CNN and MSNBC almost had SO1 Luttrell caught and executed in Afghanistan by reporting the general area and then the very village where he was awaiting extraction. We watched it all play out at GRU 2 OPS CTR.
They just don’t care about opsec, do they? Why do we even allow them to be so embedded that they time and again do the work of intel for the enemy?
Also noticed that the CG for the battle against ISIS is a BG. So we must have really drawn down if that’s the case. First time in almost two decades the CG of an op like that wasn’t a three or four star.
Fuck the media. They’ve cared about our enemies more than our troops since Vietnam (if not before that.)
The “Law” of embedding should be that IF it is found that the “reporter” has intentionally and willfully been the cause of loss of life due to the inability to “shut the fuck up”, having previously been warned of the repercussions, well…. let’s just say, “subject stepped out of the helo without a parachute”….
Who can ever forget geraldo back in the day?

Enjoy Valhalla, warriors. You’re arriving there far too soon.
RIP
Seven more Warriors taken from us way before their time, R.I.P.
Prayers for their families and team mates.
Rest in peace, you certainly deserve it.
God rest them in peace and be with their families.
The “press”—fuck them.
Rest in peace, all of them.
Rest in peace.
RIP
