From Lake Charles, Louisiana;

The Lake Charles Police Department has arrested a man in connection with a residential shooting in which a homeowner shot at an intruder.

The incident occurred around 11 am at a residence on Madeline Street in Lake Charles. Police say that 23-year-old Isaiah Williams entered the home with another suspect and was shot by the resident. Williams later died from his injuries.

A second suspect, who was seen fleeing the scene, has been arrested. Police say that 21-year-old Freddie Dequan Vezia has been arrested for his involvement in the shooting. Vezia has been charged with one count second-degree murder and home invasion. His bond is set at $800,000

Police say the charge of second-degree murder comes because Vezia was a principle in the home invasion which led to Williams being shot and killed.

An update to yesterday’s story from Pensacola, Florida;

Lyntonio De’Shawn Quinn, 22, has been arrested for homicide – murder while engaged in certain felony offense, home-invasion robbery and home invasion with a firearm.

On Tuesday, deputies were called to the area of 48th Avenue in reference to a gunshot victim. When deputies arrived on scene, they found David Washington, 27, deceased on the side of the road.

Washington and three other people are believed to have committed what appeared to be a drug-related home invasion on 48th Avenue. During the home invasion, Washington was shot and killed.

From Austin, Texas;

Residents called 911 around 3:40 a.m., saying someone was inside their home on the 4500 block of Avenue G. They hid in a closet and stayed on the call, telling police around 3:43 a.m. that they heard gunshots. According to the Austin Police Department, the suspect fired shots both inside and outside the home.

“They didn’t have any contact because they stayed inside the closet, but they were updating 911 the entire time,” Assistant Chief Troy Gay said of the victims.

Two officers responded to the “burglary hotshot” call at 3:44 a.m., parking several houses away. As they approached the house, someone was about to drive off, so they gave commands for that person to stop.

Instead, police say he shot at them, at which point one of the officers fired back. They pulled back and then called Austin Travis County EMS when they realized the suspect was injured. That person died at the scene. No officers were hurt, and they’ve spoken to the Austin Police Association.

From Forsythe, Georgia;

Deputies say a Forsyth man turned the tables on a would-be armed robber at his home on the night of Monday, Jan. 15, pushing him out the door to the ground, wrestling his gun away and holding him at gunpoint until cops arrived.

Daiquavious Lamone Taylor, 22, of Thomaston was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and other crimes after he allegedly tried to commit armed robbery at the Boxankle Road home on Jan. 15. Taylor was also charged with criminal attempt to commit armed robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, home invasion, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and criminal trespass.

A mystery in St Louis, Missouri;

Police say a woman, 43, was sitting in her car when four black males, all teenagers, walked passed her vehicle and stopped to to talk to her. Police tell News 4 one of the suspects then pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the victim. According to police, the woman began to panic and then she heard gun shots west of her location. Police say that’s when the suspects ran eastbound on Barrett away form the victim.

Just after 9 p.m. a 16-year-old was shot in the head in the 3200 block of Barrett. He was barely breathing and not conscious when he was taken to the hospital. He was later listed in critical, stable condition.

Shortly after the first teenager was found, a second teenager, described as being 14 years old, was found with a gunshot wound to the leg in the 4300 block of Warne. Police said the teen’s injury was from the shooting on Barrett. He was taken to the hospital and listed as stable. Another teen was found with the suspect shot in the leg. That male was taken into custody and a firearm was recovered, according to police.

A fourth teenager is still at large. He is described by police as having a thick build, a dark complexion and standing between 5’7″ and 5’8″. Police are also still looking for the individual(s) who fired shots at the four teenagers.

*sets out the whiskey and Tylenol for Claw, and WD-40 for the Whiz Wheel*

Sorry, Buddy…..

OWB

That last one is pretty special – how often do we see a q, u, v, and y all in the same name? (May I have a diphthong for $500 please, Alex?)

Claw

Okay, here we go. The Whiz Wheel is still pretty tired from yesterday, so we’re just going to use the surname as the identifier:

Williams (DOT) 22×3=66
Vezia – 44
Quinn – 45 (Apostrophe used, additional six points)
Washington (Still DRT from yesterday) – 81

And the biggie for the day who allowed a DAM (Dumb Ass Move) to be pulled on him which lead to his arrest:

Daiquavious Lamone Taylor (DAM) 41×4 = 164

Mick

If this Name Scrabble continues at this rate, we may have to temporarily pull the Whiz Wheel off the line and send it back to the rear for some Depot-level maintenance in order to keep it Full Mission Capable.

Wilted Willy

Amen Mick, all hail the depot!

Nastyleg

I second bearings are worn, class 3 leaks, seals are worn, chain in op, main gear teath missing. NMC, recommend send to depot for emergency repairs. Waiting on CO authority signature.
