Sunday morning feel good stories

| January 14, 2018

From Kanawha County, West Virginia;

Deputies with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office tell WSAZ that in the early morning hours Saturday, an 82-year-old man was working in his garage.

A 24-year-old man allegedly broke into the garage through a window and threatened the homeowner.

The homeowner shot the intruder, according to deputies, killing him.

It happened in the 200 block of Destiny Lane.

Detectives are on scene investigating collecting evidence and conducting interviews.

Investigators are not releasing names at this time. No charges are expected to be filed against the homeowner.

From Tamarac, Florida;

Deputies say a man walking his dog noticed another man walking around the neighborhood burglarizing vehicles.

The man watched the suspect walk towards his home and attempt to burglarize his car.

According to BCSO, the homeowner confronted the suspect, an altercation occurred, and the homeowner shot the suspect.

The adult male was taken to Broward Health North, and pronounced dead.

From Del City, Oklahoma;

Officers were called the home in the 3100 block of Neighbors Lane at 12:30 a.m. on Friday, January 12.

A man across the street called 911 after a woman from the home ran to him for help.

“She said that her friend was shot as she opened the door and they believed she was dead,” said Lonnie White neighbor. “They shot her in the face point blank range.”

Police said the suspects Darious Jackson, 22, and his brother Sharonne Jackson, 29, had planned to rob the women.

“They went in there looking for money,” said Major Ted Kleber, Del City Police Department. “Obviously knew these girls had some.”

Major Kleber said a man in the bedroom, Vincent Alexander, pulled a gun out from under his pillow and fired at both suspects. Meanwhile, a woman and child hid from the gunfire in a closet.

“Both suspects were shot,” said Kleber. “One of the suspects fled the scene and we later fund him at a hospital.”

Police said Alexander also went on the run. Detectives want to interview him for several reasons.

“Number one, he was involved in the shooting,” said Kleber. “He shot back. He is a convicted felon, number two. And he took the weapon with him so we need to recover the weapon and also we need his side of the story.”

The neighbor across the street thinks Alexander saved the other woman and child by shooting at the suspects.

“Being across the street,” said White. “And talking to them, they came here I believe to kill everybody in the home.”

Police said the suspect who is still in the hospital just got out of prison in December.

Good stories this morning. Bad guys definitely picking the wrong folks to victimize.

Roh-Dog

Good guys with guns, curing thuggery one hot lead injection at a time.

Sgt Fon

Devtun

Not even a month out of the joint, and it’s back to the same ole same ole for JEF’s sons.

Wilted Willy

I love all the DRT’s especially the one by the 82 year old fella! Nice shooting there Grandpa!

I can only guess at the ancestry of “Pops” but the Scotch/Irish that permeate the WVa are a breed best left unmolested…the federal threat to local gun rights helped swing that former hard assed union blue state well into the red as I recall

People forget that the Scots/Irish are the “immigrants” that settled the frontiers of the colonies and then our young nation when other residents found those locales too dangerous. Also, Scotch is a whiskey.

I’ve seen it both ways but sure. And in Scotland, Scottish whiskey is simply called whiskey as I recall. Cheers! 🥃

“Darious Jackson, 22, and his brother Sharonne Jackson, 29” – definitely need a Name Scrabble score for this pair.

Maybe Mr. Alexander can get a credit for doing something right, but he should have stayed where he was instead of running off.

Claw

Darious Jackson (WRT/WOT?) 28×2= 56

Sharonne Jackson (WRT/WOT?) 31×2= 62

Vincent Alexander (Felon with a gun?) – 29

RGR 4-78

Maybe we could assign a double letter score to mr. Alexander’s V and X, since he put the gas to a couple of goblins? 😉

Claw

Roger. Utilizing “The Rock” reference to VX gas, Mr. Alexander’s score is now 41.

RGR 4-78

Thanks for the chuckle.

Jesus, who wrote that OK story, a second grader? An autistic goldfish with a crayon would have done a better job.

I concur. Did the first women shot when opening the door die as stated by the person seeking help? Does not say.

“Being across the street,” said White. “And talking to them, they came here I believe to kill everybody in the home.” Who’s White? Is this the name of the neighbor across the street? And who is the “them” he was talking to? It sounds like he was chatting with the suspects before they went to the door and started shooting and before the woman came across the street seeking his help.

Under Oklahoma law, if the firearm belonged to one of the other residents in the home, the felon is still in trouble for using it to defend the household.

While it sucks and I feel for him, he is still in trouble.

Tamarac Florida!!!! At least the perp wasn’t a phony Seal poser.

The Party of Hell No!

The Oklahoma story is a great illustration of what is wrong with our judicial system. Even felons have a second amendment right to keep and bear arms to defend themselves and their families. Lest we forget another truth, even felons have families – with innocent children/members who need protection.

Please tell me you’re joking.

Either that or my sarcasm detector is set to Sheldon Cooper.

Surprise, surprise! Felonious feral hood-rats (one just out of the pound) bent on killing their neighbors for their cash or whatever. Maybe they weren’t offered enough mid-night basketball as yutes. But we are the ones the Hildabeast calls “deplorables.”

HMC Ret

The message in the West Virginia story? Don’t mess with us old people. We’re too old and out of shape to run or fight fair. We’ll jus shoot you and be done with it.

Besides, if the authorities prosecute us, we can feign senility and the jury will feel sorry for us and let us off the hook.
