Temogen Tran Noguni sentenced
Temogen Tran Noguni was sentenced in Nevada to eighteen months in prison and two years of parole for selling property that he stole from from Nellis Air Force Base including smoke grenades, ammunition and bulletproof vests, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal;
Noguni pleaded guilty in August to the unauthorized sale of property of the United States. He was charged in 2015 after an undercover federal investigation revealed he had been selling stolen military ammunition and equipment from Nellis on the internet.
According to court documents, Noguni met Staff Sgt. Jonathan Owens in August 2015 through a group known as Vape and Shoot, whose members smoked e-cigarettes and shot firearms, often meeting at Las Vegas shooting ranges.
The two met from eight to 10 times in various locations, including a Kmart parking lot south of Nellis, where Owens sold Noguni stolen items. Owens also supplied stolen items to co-defendant Daniel Schwartz.
In fact, on two occasions Noguni sold .50 caliber Raufoss Mk211 armor-piercing ammunition to undercover agents, the documents said. That ammunition is not available for sale to the general public.
Owens was sentenced to a year in prison a few months ago for stealing about $97,000 worth of ammunition and property.
According to the Justice Department, the case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations.

Serve in N.Ireland, Libya, and Afghanistan and kill terrorists and you can find yourself up on a murder charge facing at least 15 years in prison. You can also, as a terrorist supporter, become a Member of Parliament and in the case of Jeremy Corbyn lead the Opposition and perhaps have a crack at being Prime Minister
Why do these people think they won’t get caught?
They start small, make a few bucks, don’t get caught, and then get greedy and keep going bigger and bigger. Eventually their greed exceeds their luck. 🙂
Now I’m stuck on the Ray Parker Jr song “The Other Woman,” which actually touches on this theme…
“Now I know/the rules of the game/You hit it once/and break away clean/I should’a’ never gone back, I know/but I had to have/just a little bit mo’ …”
The brig is overflowing with people who thought that they were smarter than the Marine Corps.
From E-1 all the way up….
I think this stuff goes on all the time. when I was in the ARNGUS back in 1975-1977, some of the guys that owned AR-15’S pocketed the 5.56 rounds inside the ammo shack where we loaded up the mags for the live fire/quals courses. Usually it was 5 for me and 2 for the guard. Stuff was not sold but used by the AR-15 owners. Like people in the work place taking pencils, paper clips, pads etc home.
They met 8-10 times, including several times in KMart parking lots? They would have been the only vehicles in the lot and would have stuck out like a sore thumb.
Hey, I got an idea. I’ll steal military stuff and sell it on the open market and no one will be the wiser. That ranks up there as weapon’s grade stupidity.
So what gang will you affiliate with in prison so you’re not squealing like a little piggy every day? You get what you deserve.
eBay or craigslist should just add a “Stolen Government Property” category.
It doesn’t appear to me that Noguni was the guy who stole the items.
According to a linked article from the referenced site, (https://www.reviewjournal.com/news/military/grand-jury-indicts-three-in-nellis-afb-ammunition-theft/ ) a guy by the name of Owens was the actual thief:
An airman and two other people were indicted by a federal grand jury Tuesday in the alleged theft and illegal sale of military ammunition and equipment from Nellis Air Force Base.
Among the items alleged to have been stolen by Staff Sgt. Jonathan Owens were several hundred rounds of .50 caliber armor-piercing ammunition. Owens is the combat arms training manager for the 58th Rescue Squadron at Nellis, according to prosecutors.
Temogen Noguni was one of the sellers of the stolen goods:
The third defendant, Temogen Noguni, 36, who worked at Zen Vapors, was charged with two counts of unauthorized sale of property of the United States.
Noguni sold 80 rounds of the armor-piercing ammunition to an undercover agent and another 240 rounds of the ammunition with night vision goggles, according to the complaint.
The odd thing is that Owens – who actually stole the stuff – got less of a sentence (12 months) than Noguni.
First to roll, first out of the hole.
