Although the article claims that they just tested this concept, this theory has been around for a while. It had also been proven in the laboratory and observed in nature.
Exploding stars are influencing our weather, scientists find
Increased cosmic rays, in our atmosphere, result in increased cloud formations. Increased cloud formations reflect more heat back into space. Cosmic rays force water droplet formation, contributing to cloud formation and precipitation.
Cosmic rays fluctuate, going through cycles of increased and decreased volume. Solar winds influence the volume of cosmic rays entering the atmosphere. Solar winds act as a primary line of defense against cosmic rays, the Earth’s magnetic field acts as a secondary line of defense.
So, an increase of solar winds decreases the volume of cosmic rays entering the atmosphere. Likewise, a decrease in solar winds allows for an increase in volume of cosmic rays that enter. The sun has been providing us visual clues, for centuries, to support this.
An increase of solar sunspot activity is related to an increase in solar winds. A decrease of solar sunspot activity is related to a decrease in solar winds. By extension, an increase of solar sunspot activity causes the volume of cosmic rays, entering the atmosphere, to decrease. A decrease of solar sunspot activity allows more cosmic rays to enter.
Sunspot activity has been plotted for centuries. Minimum sunspot activity was spotted during the Maunder and Dalton sunspot minimums. In many instances, no sunspot activity was detected for a long period. This is also known as the, “Mimi Ice Age”.
Records of sunspot activity, when matched with the Mimi Ice Age and with the recent warming, show sunspot activity averages and global temperatures “marching in step”. As sunspot activity goes up, average global temperatures go up. As sunspot activity goes down, average global temperatures go down. Superimpose the cosmic ray activity with these two, and you will see a generally symmetrical inverse pattern.

The sun is showing signs of entering another protracted solar minimum. The past three solar sunspot cycles show a downward trend in solar activity. By the way, the Earth’s magnetic field is also weakening. Using history as a guide, the climate is changing, but not in the direction that the mainstream media is currently portraying.

I read an article a couple weeks ago that said these “people” are in their very early 20s and have the minds of 15-year-olds, mostly due to their constant use of electronic media. I’d say they need therapy, something involving a log cabin with no heat except for a fireplace, no stove or microwave (just the fireplace), and no running water.

There’s a relatively new theory, about the sun being electromagnetic, and that the Earth, sun, and the rest of the solar system are electromagnetically connected. Two things related to climate comes from this theory.
One of them is that this would mean that the positions of the planets, particularly the gas giants, relative to the sun, indirectly impact the climate process on the earth by directly impacting sunspot activity.
The gas giants take longer to orbit the sun than the inner planets. Which means when they’re on one side of the sun, and relatively close to each other, and tend to stay on the same side, relative to each other, much longer… Collectively contributing to reduced solar sunspot activity… Which in turn reduces average global temperatures.
Testing this through computer modeling, and matching it to our actual long term climate over the past, has been promising. One paper even projected long term climate, for the rest of this century and the next one or two centuries.
the solar magnetosphere is gargantuan. The Voyager probes left it’s main region only recently. Easily detected well beyond pluto’s orbit.
What astounds me is that they can still communicate with that tiny little thing, and recently even reverse-engineered the old machine code in which it was programmed to utilize a different set of “jets” to maneuver it into position where it can still transmit back to Earth.
Looks like depletion of the on-board RTGs will eventually kill them when there isn’t enough power left to transmit.
The Voyager probes are -amazing- engineering feats.
Can you imagine one of those engineers asking ‘What in the world is FORTRAN?’
All that assembler coding, the root of everything they do now, should never, ever be tossed out because it’s inconvenient. They might need it some day.

A cool theory to contemplate and evaluate.
Saturn and Jupiter are approaching a planetary conjunction now. In a year or two, allowing for travel time, they’ll conjunct exact. It does happen on a regular basis, but for some reason there is something special about this time, don’t know exactly what.
That’s just the beginning.
Neptune is catching up to Uranus. This process will take longer, and they’ll stay in “alignment” or “near alignment” a little bit longer. The next time Jupiter catches up to Saturn, we’ll have a Neptune-Uranus and Saturn-Jupiter combo, on the same side of the solar system.
This is easy to figure out.
In the zodiacal configuration, Uranus is in Aries now. Neptune is in Pisces. Saturn is in Capricorn and Jupiter is currently in Scorpio but will join Saturn in Capricorn before long. Jupiter will pass Neptune and Uranus at least twice while Saturn is slowly moving into that alignment, which will be about 7.5 to 8.0 years from now. Hmmm… that should be very, very interesting. Exact alignment hasn’t happened since the 1970s, when the “end of the world” was predicted.
Exact alighnment of Uranus is crucial to an “end of the world” experience.
I see this during my early morning, pre-dawn runs. Mars is in Virgo, overtaking Jupiter. Jupiter is in Libra. The gap between Mars and Jupiter is shrinking. Earlier this year, I saw Venus overtake Mars as it looped to the other side of the sun.
The astronomical configuration is different:
Mercury and Venus are in Ophiuchus.
Mars is leaving Virgo for Libra, could be there by today or tomorrow.
Jupiter is in Libra.
Saturn is in Sagittarius.
Uranus is in Pisces.
Neptune is in Aquarius.
Pluto is in Sagittarius.
The conjunctions won’t have much impact on people’s luck, but would have an impact on geomagnetic activity on the sun.

I’m using earth centric, I’ve been tracking the procession of the constellations for almost 2 years now during my pre dawn runs. Seen planets retrograde, and even shift places with each other in the sky, due to relative motion.
My desktop stellarium is also earth centric.

Believe it or not I’ve had this discussion with several people recently attempting to explain solar minimum and maximum periods and their effects on global climate. They thought I was loony.
Because our mothers and sisters using Aqua Net and my lawn mower are obviously more influential to the Earth than the sun. Science!
The sun is 99.8 to 99.9 percent of the Solar System’s mass; massive arrogance on some people’s part to assume that we’d overrule the sun’s effects on our climate. 🙄
But…but…but it’s only the size of a fingernail when you see it in the sky. We can control something that small, can’t we?

The sun is definitively dimmer. I think it started with the solar minimum in 2006, which resulted in near-panicky discussions about another Maunder Minimum (14th century, LIA, etc.). Now, it seems that the solar activity level at minimum is essentially the same – a level below which it doesn’t drop – but the length of time of the solar minimum is what’s important. And the lack of sunspots has been going on now for many, many months, with no sign of returning. The few sunspots this past summer were smaller than Earth.
Also, the Earth’s magnetic field is weakening which may mean it is now on track for the magnetic poles to switch positions. The last time that happened was 780,000 yeas ago, and since we feeble humans weren’t around back then, aside a from possible glacial maximum starting, there’s no way to know exactly what will happen. More volcanoes erupting? Long-dormant volcanoes coming back to life? Who knows? Something’s gonna happen.

I noticed that with the sun as well, with it not being as bright as I remember. The weather definitely changed in 2005/2006. It was events in 2006, leading into 2007, that got me into tracking global weather.
The start of the transition towards the next mini ice age began around that time as well. I’ve also been following up on the sunspots, they’re not as frequent as when I started to take interest in them. “Suspicious Observes” offers a daily update on what the sun is doing. I’ve noticed some of those sunspots coming around into view looking like they’re going to fire with both barrels… Just to fizzle as they got closer to earth, then get stronger as they slipped out of our view.
The magnetic poles started to move quicker than normal in the last decade. The magnetic field getting weaker is going to let in more cosmic rays. Magnetic field strength between the last ice mini ice age and now may have made the difference regarding our coming close to a full blown mega glaciation during the last ice age. We don’t have that much luck now, and we’re overdue for a major glaciation. Some are even projecting that if the new mini ice age rivals the Maunder Minimum, we could very well enter into mega glaciation.
More volcanoes are errupting around the world, and more dormant volcanoes are starting to show activity. More underwater volcanoes have been detected, and they’ve found that many of these underwater volcanoes are active.
Same thing with earthquakes… both volcanic activity and earthquake activity have also been linked to geomagnetic activity on the sun.
Well, then if we go into a major cooling phase the Algore will have to make a new movie to set all the proggies’s hair on fire. Then they can screech about the dangers of frozen dihydrogenoxide.

This is both weird and true. Fuji-san was rattled rather badly during the 2011 Japan quake. The Alban Hills volcano complex in Italy near Rome has shown no activity for 30,000 years, but started steam vents and other, similar odd occurrences about two years ago. Etnas has been in continuous eruption for months now. Santorini, the underwater volcano that destroyed Minoan civilization, has active vents going on.
And then there are all those Central American volcanoes that have been quiet for a long, long time, which are now active. Even Iran has a volcano, a big one, on a major plate line in the Middle East.
That ‘thing’ about interesting times? You have to wonder just what does lie ahead.
Some researchers have also postulated that a field of underground magma is building under the American Northeast as well.
Evidence for that magma was previously there, a group of researchers zeroed in its movement.
Read recently that while there is seismicactivity in the caldera area, the vast majority of the magma is solidified and lacks the energy for a supereruption.

Does that have anything to do with the Virginia seismic zone? The New Madrid rift zone has been quivering for a while now, and minor quakes seem to be happening in all parts of it, from the Wabash area up north to my kingdom.

Plato’s timeline for Atlantis’s end places it at the end of the last mega glaciation. He also said that Atlantis “disappeared beneath the waves”. Back when he first told that story to his audiences, people didn’t have much concept of flooding outside of religious context… The gods caused the flooding, or God caused the flooding. So, people naturally assumed that it sunk due to the earthquakes and volcanoes that were also associated with its demise.
People looking at this from modern eyes would assume that he was talking about something in the Mediterranean, or in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. But, back in the ancient west, the entire body of water surrounding the world was labeled as the Atlantic. Which means that “Atlantis” could be anywhere… The Americas or Asia.
During the peak of the last major glaciation, much of the sea floor containing Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines’ Palawan Island were joined to mainland Asia as dry land. Since the whole world didn’t freeze over… Rain forests over there are over a million years old… This would’ve been an ideal location for people to master agriculture and develop civilization… Millennia before Samaria.
Since the atmospheric, hydrospheric, and lithospheric activity are influenced directly or indirectly by the sun, the entry into an ice age, and exit, could be marked by increased volcanic, earthquake, and climate activity.
What Plato described could be the result of such effects. They’ve already found evidence of ancient civilization ruins on continental shelves around the world.

What you describe is weather which, like climate, changes. Climate is weather over a longer period of time.

I downloaded the text of the Paris Climate agreement that Trump unsigned us from. Nothing in the document specifying how we’re going to reduce CO2, or battle climate change. But, there’s plenty in their about the need to fund such efforts, and the need for the rich countries to help the poor countries fund similar efforts in their own countries… A global income redistribution scheme.
