SAS may alter performance standard to accommodate women

| December 5, 2017

The UK’s Daily Mail reports that there’s a rumor circulating in the halls of the Ministry of Defense that the selection phase for the Special Air Services, the special forces of the British Army, may get easier for female applicants when the course is opened to women in 2019;

But according to sources who spoke to the Sunday Times, women – who can apply for all military roles from 2019 – might be allowed more time to complete tests and be given lighter loads to carry.

The potential watering down of selection criteria will also apply to the SBS (Special Boat Service), the sources add.

It would specifically affect the initial selection phase, during which candidates are pushed to their limits in the Brecon Beacons over a month-long period.

In typical “Newspeak”, an official explained that the standards aren’t being lowered, but rather the playing field is being leveled. I hope that they read the enemy in to this newly-leveled playing field and they take that into account on the next battlefield.

I’m sure that one of the social justice warriors still roaming the halls of the Pentagon will come out to tell us that “Well, the British are lowering their standards for women, so we should do that, too.

I’m sure ISIS, Al-Qaeda, and The Taliban will be briefed before engaging against women in the SAS that the its now a “level playing field” and to conduct themselves accordingly.

I wonder if the Peshmerga “leveled the playing field” for its female soldiers? My guess is the way they kick ISIS asses up and down the battlefield that the answer is a big fat NO!

Putting lives at risk for the sake of “leveling the playing field” is down right criminal in my mind.

SSG Kane

Peshmerga standard is “You survived the battle? You are good to go, until the next one”.

Or as the SAS used to put it “Death is natures way of telling you that you’ve failed selection”.

Hey, no stardards is still a standard, isn’t it?

What does Chip NASA have to do with this?
Why are you sending him away?

Never mind that Yef, the 1SG says he wants his coffee NOW.

IF the rumors are true, and one cannot but suspect that this is at the very least a trial balloon, then what we have is yet another symptom that Great Britain as we knew it no longer exists.
Neville Chamberlain has reproduced, where are Winston Churchill’s heirs?

Ex-PH2

Well, this IS encouraging, isn’t it? Some years back (1987), Prince Edward (the youngest son of Queen Elizabeth) wept a little and protested that he didn’t want to do his (expected) military duty by spending his time with the Royal Marines, because he thought it was too hard.

If they’re going to dumb it down a bit, I guess he could go back and try again, right? And those ‘Sod off, Eddie’ t-shirts could be recalled.

More proof that liberalism is a mental disorder…

So the next obvious policy will be on transgenders and whether they follow the rule for born gender or their gender identity when it comes to the standard they must meet. I’m also predicting the first rule they make will change just like this policy of “one standard” changed.

I honestly thought that the SAS and SBS would be the last to be thrown under the wheels of the out-of-control politically correct SJW bus, so I hope that these MOD rumors are false.

It’s ‘Who Dares Wins’.

It’s not ‘Who Compromises Standards Wins’.

Women want equal pay for equal work.

Except the playing field has to be tilted first.

The Other Whitey

Interestingly enough, when they do equal work, they overwhelmingly do get equal pay.

Ex-PH2

Strange. I always got the same pay as the guys, but they spent more time at the coffee mess and less time in the darkroom cranking out prints. I think I should have asked for a chunk of their pay.

Yef

But, but…ok.

Joe

Apparently the British don’t give a flying f**k what you guys think.

Graybeard

The British chattering class, the heirs of Neville Chamberlain, most likely don’t.

The average British citizen who is helplessly watching Great Britain fade into oblivion, however, probably agrees with us.

That’s how the Brexit vote happened.

SFC D

Actually Joe, it’s us who give zero fucks as to your thinking. I started the day with 12, I still have them all. The crop yield was low this year.

A Proud Infidel®™

And WE don’t give two hoots of a flying ratshit fuck what you think, Joe, now go back to blowing winos behind bus stops.

NHSparky

And if you suck a wet fart out of my ass, that will be more than what I think of your opinion.

The only time the training standards should be lowered is when the standards kill over 40 percent of the trainees. If it doesn’t kill you it is a good standard. The only thing that levels the battlefield is Air Power and the Field Artillery.

E4 Mafia For Life.

As many of us know, the SAS is the origin of our Army Special Forces. I cringe at hearing the beginning of the selection process. I would find it easier to eat a rusty typewriter than last a single day.
Princess Charles is a joke.
Prince Wee Willie is married to a really hot chick. He seems like a borrowed valor kind of shmuck like his dad.
Prince Harry has brass balls the size of church bells, is a scrapper, hasa zero foxtrots to give and is no joke. I’m hoping there is some way they can disqualify Chucky and crown Prince Harry as King.
Harry can briefly take over and have the mayor of Londinistan decrapitated.
I mean, he’s a ginger. You know better than to mess with one of those.

Special Forces draw their orgin from the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) and the First Special Service Force.

Devtun

COL Beckwith used SAS & it’s selection methodology as a template for Delta. The use of “squadrons” was also carried over.

Tony180A

Devtun you are correct, Tier 1 SMU are templated off SAS. My old team leader spent a year on an exchange with the SAS. He said the only thing more brutal than the training was the British food lol.
