Friday morning feel good stories

From Cherokee County, Georgia;

A local pastor shot a burglar who was trying to break into his home early Thursday, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.

When deputies arrived at the house on Sante Fe Trial for a report of a shooting at 2:40 a.m., they located 19-year-old Donavan Simmons suffering from a gunshot wound.

Simmons was lying in the backyard with a gunshot wound to his head. Simmons was transported to a local hospital; his condition is unknown at this time.

According to police, the suspect tried to gain entry into the home through the basement when the homeowner shot in the general direction of the intruder.

There were five people present inside the home at the time of the attempted burglary, including the pastor’s children, aged 6, 7 and 12. None of them were injured.

From Oklahoma City, Oklahoma;

The homeowner told police three armed males, two black and one white, were trying to burglarize the home.

The homeowner fired shots at the burglars but said the gunfire did not appear to hit anyone.

A family of four were in the home at the time of the incident.

No arrests have been made at this time.

From Cleveland, Ohio;

The owner of a Cleveland convenience store and a friend who served time in the Marines fended off a robber by hitting him in the head with a baseball bat and tackling him after he tried to run away, police said.

The duo held the 31-year-old suspected robber on the ground until police arrived and took him into custody, police reports say. The man has not yet been formally charged.

From Ortonville, Michigan;

The man accused of shooting his estranged wife and her friend at an apartment complex in Ortonville, Michigan is behind bars this morning thanks to the quick-thinking action of a resident and law enforcement.

Michael Quigley, 34, was taken into police custody after a resident found him inside his van on Rattlesnake Lane in Ortonville.

The resident, who didn’t want to give his name, said he checked the vehicle on his property and saw the suspect underneath a blanket in the backseat, first becoming suspicious when he noticed the windows were fogged up.

He said he pulled out his gun and got Quigley out of the vehicle, asking him to get on the ground.

“I took my phone, called 911 and within minutes a SWAT team came and took care of him,” he said.

He said Quigley was “very compliant.”

From Gadsden, Florida;

Around 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 12, a man crawled under the bottom of the front door of the Kelly’s Jr. Store #5 in Quincy.

The store was closed, but not empty.

“I was just camping out,” the store owner said.

The store owner opened fire on the suspect. The suspect fired back but the owner was not hurt. The man then jumped the counter and ran out of the store.

“I can’t say nothing. I don’t want to re-live that again,” said the store owner.

The suspect got away without any cash, and without his black hat.

Investigators say the beanie cap was shot off the suspect’s head and landed in a nearby trash can.

“The bullet holes are actually located here and here, an entrance and an exit. It’s a miracle the perpetrator is alive,” said Investigator Thomas Perkins.

Investigators believe the suspect is 32-year-old Andre Kelly. He’s wanted in connection to 14 store burglaries in Gadsden County.

From Cheektowaga, New York;

A suburban Buffalo business owner says he drove his car into a man who had opened fire at a neighboring store, an act of heroism police credit with saving lives.

Mark Pinnavaia (pin-uh-VYE’-uh) says his assistant manager at Daryll’s Car Audio Superstore yelled Tuesday afternoon that someone was shooting outside the Dollar General across the street. Pinnavaia says he saw a man putting his rifle on the ground in between firing at the dollar store.

Pinnavaia says he jumped in his car, drove across a grassy strip and hit the gunman, who flew over the vehicle and landed on the ground. The man got up and ran with Pinnavaia and one of his employees in pursuit.

The man, identified as 29-year-old Travis Green, was caught by police moments later.

From Gilbert, Arizona;

Gilbert police say the incident happened on November 15 at 2:50 p.m. at a 7-Eleven near Cooper and Elliot Roads when the suspect, identified as 27-year-old E’lon Hayes, entered the convenience store, pointed a handgun at the clerk, and demanded money.

Police say the clerk was also armed with a handgun and drew his weapon to defend himself. Hayes then ran outside the store and made another threatening gesture towards the clerk, who followed behind him.

The store clerk then shot Hayes, who was still able to run from the scene. Officers found Hayes in a nearby neighborhood and he was transported to a nearby hospital.

Some people need to be able to bleed in peace…..surrounded by the po-po, to make sure they don’t commit another crime while they die.

It would save a lot of taxpayer money in hospitalization, courts and trials, and incarceration.

We actually had a break in, all on video, about 2 weeks ago, I had left just an hour prior. Also, The CVS across had an armed robbery just 4 days ago…. Note to self: ‘find another job’…
