From Orlando, Florida;

Police say a man got into an argument with security, pulled a gun out and started shooting at the security officer.

According to police, the security officer shot back, hitting the man.

Orlando Police patrol units were in the area at the time of the shooting and responded immediately.

Police say the security officer was not shot and was uninjured. The other man however, was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

At a Houston, Texas gas station, thieves tried to rob an armed clerk or customer;

The shooting began around 8:30 a.m. at the Chevron on West Little York near Domino Lane.

The victim was hit in the gunfire and was rushed to the hospital. We do not know the victim’s condition.

One of the robbery suspects tried to escape in a car, but crashed almost immediately after being shot. He died at the scene, police said.

Two other suspects got away on foot and police are hoping someone might have information on where they went.

From Flint, Michigan;

A shooting victim Saturday night in Flint managed to fire a shot back at his alleged assailant, according to police.

The victim told police he was walking around 9 p.m. Nov. 11 in the 1500 block of Berrywood Lane, between Hargott Avenue and Crestbrook Lane, when he was approached by two males wearing dark clothing.

Words were exchanged between the trio and one of the suspects pulled a handgun out and fired at the victim before fleeing in an unknown direction.

Flint police Detective Tyrone Booth confirmed Sunday afternoon that the victim “did discharge the firearm he was legally carrying” during the incident.

“We only have one victim at this time,” he said.

No name scrabble this morning, although it does appear that the good guys are winning.

Hard to determine from the excerpt if we have a DRT or a DOT in the Houston incident, but at least the D part isn’t in question.

Very sketchy neighborhood, it would be more shocking if someone WASN’T shot there. I wouldn’t walk there at night – unarmed or armed.

My thoughts, exactly, David.

I made the mistake of going on Lyons Ave after dark. Once. About 1970. Took a friend home and his brother about shot me because he didn’t recognize the vehicle.

I did not repeat that mistake. West Little York is one of Those Areas. Not sure who their Representative is, but I’d bet my next 20 years wages that they have a (D) after their name.
