From Sand Springs, Oklahoma;

Sand Springs Police officers responded to 114 North Franklin on a report of a first-degree burglary on Thursday at 9:36 p.m.

When officers arrived, the home owner told them he shot one suspect with a rifle as he was trying to break in and detained another at gunpoint until police arrived.

When officers responded, they found one of the suspects, 37-year-old James Edward Patterson, shot dead outside the back door. The second suspect, 18 year-old Brandon Gray of Sand Springs was taken into custody.

The home owner was interviewed by police and later released.

From Spartanburg, South Carolina;

[Katrina] Walker told the Spartanburg Herald-Journal that it was just after midnight when her 24-year-old daughter spotted a man in the bathroom holding a finger to his mouth, signaling her to be quiet. The 24-year-old instead started to scream, and when Walker came running to find out what was happening, the burglar tackled Walker.

The burglar allegedly demanded money from the women. Walker’s daughter instead grabbed her gun and cocked it, the Herald-Journal reported. When the burglar took off running, the 24-year-old began to shoot.

Spartanburg officers used a K-9 officer to find the burglar. But it was the trail of blood that led them to Jeter, according to Fox Carolina. The station reported Jeter was struck by four rounds in the buttocks.

From St Petersburg, Florida;

Jesse Giles says he was awake inside his home around 1:00 a.m. when his motion sensitive light went off in the driveway. He grabbed his gun and opened his front door. He saw a teen in his car looking for valuables.

“I just reacted. My first reaction was to protect myself and to make sure if these people were armed, I had my weapon and I could react,” said Jesse Giles.

The teens saw the armed homeowner and took off. Pinellas County deputies said the teens were located about 8 blocks away. The suspects had opened an unlocked vehicle in the homeowner’s driveway in The Highland Mobile Home Park community.

Deputies arrested 18-year-old Damien Pyles and a 17-year-old. The teens face burglary charges.

Giles says he did not shoot because he didn’t fear for his life.

From Chicago, Illinois;

A store clerk fired a shot at a suspect during an attempted robbery Friday morning on the Near West Side.

About 11:10 a.m., a man entered a convenience store in the 700 block of South Western, displayed what appeared to be a weapon and demanded property, according to Chicago Police.

The clerk fired one shot at the suspect, and the man ran away, police said. The clerk was not certain whether or not the man was struck by the bullet.

In the state of Florida, a persons car is considered a place of abode the same as your house and the home owner made the right choice by not engaging the perps trying to rifle his car as he stated that he was in no danger and not mentioned that it was unlawful to shoot a fleeing suspect after the fact.

Holy Shit, that Chicago one is less than a mile from where I am at.
