Robert Engle; A good guy with a gun in Tennessee

| September 25, 2017

Yesterday, a Sudanese immigrant, Emanuel Kidega Samson, carried two guns into the Burnette Chapel Church of Christ in Antioch, Tennessee. He had killed Melanie Smith, 39, of Smyrna in the parking lot, and he opened fire on the congregation in the church wounding six more. He was confronted by a 22-year-old usher named Robert Engle, who tackled Samson. Engle was injured in the ensuing struggle, but Samson was wounded when his handgun discharged.

According to reports, Engle went to his car and retrieved his handgun, went back into the church and held Samson until police arrived.

From the Tennessean Nashville police credit Engle as a hero and the person who stopped Samson’s rampage;

Robert Engle “physically engaged” with the suspected shooter, who police say is 25-year-old Emanuel Samson. During the struggle between Engle and Samson, the shooter was shot in the chest, said Metro Nashville Police Chief Steve Anderson.

“He’s the hero. He’s the person who stopped this madness,” Anderson said during a news conference.

Now THIS man deserves a ceremony in the White House rose garden…

Sapper3307

Is this a immigration problem?

Joseph Williams

Weasel Zippers has a good coverage of this shooting. Samson (the shooter). When entering the rear of the church Engle tried to stop there. Engle was beat in head with the weapon . Engle then went after Samson again. Samson was a legal since 1996. Joe

And that’s why I have my CCW here in TN!, and I do carry when the wife’s makes me go to church.

Graybeard

Our pastor here in East Texas once said, from the pulpit, that if there ever was a shooter incident in our church he was hitting the deck, because he knows that a large percentage of our congregation is packing.

IMHO, the most deadly handgunner in our congregation is a woman in our Sunday School class. I do not get in any form of shooting competition against her. My ego might not be able to take it.

Eden

The pastor of the church we attended before we moved was fairly open about the fact that he himself carried, and that the pulpit was purposely designed to stop a .45. And the county sheriff was the church’s head usher.

Looks like the Justice Dept is going to investigate this as a possible hate crime. Somehow the Confederate Battle Flag, monuments, or even Pres Trump will be blamed on poor Manny’s murderous outburst. The poor guy just couldn’t take all the hate that surrounded him.
The useless media is doing their damn best to avoid this. Hey, lets cover a bunch of retard football players kneeling during the national anthem.

A Proud Infidel®™

He MIGHT have been “offended” by a statue and that made him do it?

Animal

I’m surprised at the lack of manufactured outrage by the msm. Black shooter, white church. Oh, wait. Maybe I’m not.

Old Trooper

I wonder if this will be considered a “hate crime”?

As to the young man? Stay armed my friend.

A Proud Infidel®™

I wonder if we’ll suddenly hear pols bawl for more Gun Laws?

The socialists that don’t want people to be able to defend themselves are already talking their trash about guns because of Las Vegas shooting!

OWB

Newsrooms around the country are splattered with the remains of lefty heads exploding. Their agenda concurrently requires that they use this shooting to push “sensible gun control” and that they carefully ignore immigrant bad guys.

Jabberwocky for them. Bless their pitiful, amoral hearts.

Thunderstixx

The NRA slogan about a good guy with a gun comes true yet again…
Stupid libidiots think it is morally superior to be laying dead from a shooters gunfire than having to explain why the shooter was wounded or killed before he got off more than a couple of shots…
Go figger…

Ex-PH2

This young man deserves as much good stuff as life can hand him.

CommonSenseCO

This kid is much more than a good guy with a gun. He confronted the shooter unarmed, and only retrieved his weapon after the shooter shot himself accidentally in the struggle.

This young man has GREAT courage. Hero.

At last, someone who refuses to “cower in place” like our betters tell us.

Jonp

The shooter was a muslim and black power adherent. Of course it was based on race.

Tony180A

Have you seen pictures of the victims? This fucktard may have been many things, black power not so much.

Jonp

You must not have seen the latest reporting. He was all in on black luberation theology

The Other Whitey

Badass, but he should’ve killed the bastard.

David

Can we get this kid in the service? I’d definitely say he is the kind of person we should be looking for.

Good trooper material there!

“Religion plays an important role in Sudan, with 97% of the country’s population adhering to Islam.”

Not drawing any conclusions or anything…

What are the odds?

Good for Robert Engle! I wish when the terrorist’s weapon was towards his own chest and went off another round would have made its way into his melon.

FatCircles0311

This is Kryptonite to the media’s narrative of racist whitey killing blacks and gun owners, especially conceal carriers, being the scourge of civilization and a danger to every living thing within 100 miles.

No wonder this story was all but ignored yesterday in favor for cheering about anti American spoiled brat athletes showing how much they hate the country.

“[Jesus] said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one”
Luke 22:36

Self-defense is just following the words of Christ. Bravo Zulu and God Bless Mr. Engle!

“If Jesus had a gun he would be alive today”
Homer Simpson

Carlton G. Long

Amusing, but woefully inaccurate.

Christ could have easily had twelve legions of angels at his disposal, and had just severely chastised Peter for using his sword (on this occasion, not that he should never use it).

Christ’s death was not an act of cowering weakness or an indicator of His helplessness.

My own chosen faith (I am a convert), The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints (i.e., the “Mormon” church) officially forbids anyone to wear a firearm on Church property.

But, I always wear my concealed service revolver.

I remember what Jesus Christ said in Luke 22:36.

Green Thumb

Good job, dude.

Just make sure the SJW do not try to claim he is a student and such…..
