Cameo Williams found guilty of defrauding VA

| June 22, 2017

Mark sends us a link to the story of Cameo Williams of Denver, Colorado, a veteran who convinced the Veterans’ Affairs Department of PTSD that he’d sustained while deployed for which he needed compensation. The US Attorney prosecuted the case and the Department of Veterans’ Affairs Office of the Inspector General investigated;

Cameo Williams Sr., 34, was discharged from the Army for misconduct. The Denver man was receiving disability compensation from the VA for PTSD. Williams told the VA that the Army simply made an error in not mentioning his deployment on his discharge paperwork. However, the evidence at trial showed that not only did his personnel file lack any evidence of a deployment, he also had never received combat pay at any point in his Army career and had never had the necessary medical screenings and immunizations required for a deployment.

Williams’ medical records showed him attending doctor’s appointments in Washington state during the time he claimed to have been deployed, and two soldiers from his unit testified that no one from that unit had deployed during the time Williams said he was overseas.

Cameo was found guilty on Monday and he’s facing 5 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

This sounds just like my pos brother! Why can’t they prosecute him and throw his ass in jail! He has been getting over $3K a month for years on his phony PTSD disability claim and never saw a day in combat, not to mention his phony Purple Heart! Please somebody send his case to them???

Why is it up to someone else to do it? Surely you have proof of his lies that you can take to a prosecutor and convince them that he is committing fraud.

If you want a job done right, do it yourself.
If you need assistance because you do not know how to go forward to get the info needed to prosecute him, send an e-mail and I am sure the admins will give you the basics on how to proceed to get that proof.

Wilted Willy

I have already sent all the proof to the VA, VAIG, FBI and local law enforcement. I have been doing this for over a year and still no results. I have even written my Senator and all have been fruitless so far. The FBI won’t even tell me if they are investigating him or not! I have tried everything I can think of, so if any of you have any more ideas, please let me know? The only thing I have been able to do is get this pos removed from the Purple Heart registry! I ask help from anyone that may have any ideas???
Thank you for your support.

Keep up the fire brother, just keep up the fire.
It will work, sooner or later, it will work.
Send it off to President Trump, he hates to see anyone screwing over our Veterans that deserve what they get.

Are you sure it’s not for non-combat PTSD? I’ve heard people getting PTSD compensation for incidences on base at home such as car accidents, witnessing robbery that resulted in fatal stabbing and military sexual assault.

Wilted Willy

He claims to have been shot down and had half his arm blown off, and also severe back wounds. The only problem is he doesn’t have a single scar on his entire body. The only stress he has is the fear of being caught up in all of his lies! He has already been in prison for fraud because he screwed a bunch of old people out of hundreds of thousands of dollars! He has also been convicted of bank fraud, so yes he has a lot to be stressed about, none of it combat related! Trust me, this pos didn’t even attend his own mother’s funeral because he thought someone would spill the beans to his poor wife who believes all of his bull shit stories!

The problem with whoever wrote the article is they made it look like Cameo didn’t do any research on how to get PTSD compensation. While the VA was a bonehead for granting it to him without verifying his service, Cameo had to do a lot to receive that compensation. Cameo had to know how to meet the criteria for all the PTSD check points, he had to know how to convince the VA psychiatrist of his “stressor” events and the the VARO. It wasn’t as if Cameo just said “I have PTSD, give me compensation” and he hit the jackpot on words alone. It took a lot of work for the dirt bag to get where he got. So lets not go acting like all PTSD recipients got compensation easily when the fact is many are denied.

Let’s say for the sake of argument that the Army neglected to put down his deployments on his 214. That doesn’t mean that Perscom didn’t have records. Hell you can go to myhealthevet blue button and pull all that info up combat pay deployment dates etc. don’t get me wrong. It’s crazy to think. They would let something like that slip on a 214. Just saying how weak his argument was. I totally agree that I’m not sure how VA dropped the ball developing his case and granting him SC. But I do know that 99 percent of the time you have to jump through hoops to prove SC for anything. Esp PTSD. That’s why that type of claim takes longer. I’m glad to see decorum here in that someone isn’t shouting. Every vet with PTSD is a con artist.

My first trip to that SHITHOLE of Iraq wasn’t a deployment it was called

This shows again the eagerness the the VA to say everyone has PTS
About damn time someone did there homework
