From Lexington County, South Carolina;

A Swansea man is recovering in jail after being shot during a burglary in Pelion Tuesday morning.

According to deputies, 34-year-old Tommy Lee Hively was shot as he tried to break into a family members home on the 700 block of Fort Ridge Trail.

After receiving treatment at a local hospital, he was arrested and transferred to the Lexington County Detention Center.

In West Park, Florida;

Broward sheriff’s deputies said one robber brandished a semi-automatic handgun and pointed it at the victims while his accomplice rushed toward the counter holding a bag.

Deputies said an employee shot at the armed robbers, who returned fire.

Surveillance video shows the customers running for cover as shots were fired.

Deputies said the robbers struggled to open the front door to escape and slid through a small opening between the metal bars and the display counter, eventually fleeing out the back doors.

Authorities said no one was injured.

Shooting and not hitting your target is a sinful waste of both lead and powder. Range time. People have money for movies, cigarettes, liquor, and Starbuck’s, but not enough to go to the range? Or to build one at their home? Priorities?

Nothing for nothing but most perps holding up a store are there to take the money, get away,and not get into a shootout. For an employee to start shooting with customers in the store is not a good idea. Let them take the moola. Now if the perps start to endanger the customers with deadly physical force, then it’s a different ball game.
