Thursday morning feel good stories

| March 9, 2017

We’ll start off this morning’s stories with an update to yesterday’s story from Riverdale, Georgia; the wounded burglar is now DOT (dead over there) at the hospital and his accomplice has been charged with his murder;

A spokesperson for the Riverdale Police Department said John Dexter Williams, 19, and Patrick Kemp, 22, tried to break into a home on Birch Circle Tuesday morning. Investigators said the homeowner shot Williams, who ran away from the scene.

[…]

Kemp is charged with felony murder and burglary in the first degree. Police do not plan to charge the homeowner.

From Richmond, Maine;

The woman’s boyfriend was getting ready for work when he noticed a man with a “police-like flashlight” inside the home, according to police.

Police say the boyfriend then chased Hambree out of the home with his gun.

Once outside the home, police say the boyfriend went back inside and Hambree walked up to the front door and “smashed” it with the flashlight.

The boyfriend then opened fire on Hambree. The suspect was shot in the shoulder area, according to police.

Police say after being shot, Hambree went over to the homeowner’s car and smashed the windows with the flashlight. He then sat on the homeowner’s porch and waited for police.

In Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Anthony Gordon Jr., 40, tried to force his way into a home with a firearm. The elderly resident of the home subsequently, took that firearm from Gordon and shot him with the gun. Gordon was DRT (dead right there).

People, thugs are willing to die to get your things, to take your life, to assault your family and friends the majority of these attempts can be prevented by being a trained, law abiding, gun owner. Legally armed, trained citizens have an edge on most thugs. Very few of them know how to properly use, aim and fire the weapon they have. Most have had no range time. Be careful, be aware, be armed.

Amen Frankie, Amen. I feel sorry for any poor miscreant that may happen to find his way into my home or truck, they will certainly be DRT! Keep up the good work people!

From the Baton Rouge story:

‘”Especially an older person, you can’t fight,” Collins, 31, said, of why it makes sense that shots were fired.’

That’s right. Old guys aren’t going to grapple with an assailant if they can avoid it; rather, they’re simply going defend themselves from a distance by employing their weapon(s) to good effect.

Oops.

‘…going TO defend…’
