NYT and Russian “election hacking”
The New York Times reports this morning that the Obama Administration Rushed to Preserve Intelligence of Russian Election Hacking;
At the Obama White House, Mr. Trump’s statements stoked fears among some that intelligence could be covered up or destroyed — or its sources exposed — once power changed hands. What followed was a push to preserve the intelligence that underscored the deep anxiety with which the White House and American intelligence agencies had come to view the threat from Moscow.
It also reflected the suspicion among many in the Obama White House that the Trump campaign might have colluded with Russia on election email hacks — a suspicion that American officials say has not been confirmed. Former senior Obama administration officials said that none of the efforts were directed by Mr. Obama.
Sean Spicer, the Trump White House spokesman, said, “The only new piece of information that has come to light is that political appointees in the Obama administration have sought to create a false narrative to make an excuse for their own defeat in the election.” He added, “There continues to be no there, there.”
I don’t understand – at the very worst, the Trump campaign is guilty of doing nothing while the Russians broadcast actual emails from the Clinton campaign. There was no hacking of the election, there was hacking of Democrat email servers. Votes weren’t hacked. The Russians have not been proven guilty of the hacking yet.
What is disturbing is that the Democrats’ own behavior and their language is what defeated them at the ballot box, and apparently, the Obama Administration and the New York Times are angry that the voters discovered the truth about them. So, the real crime here is that voters were too well-informed.

Seems to me this is more about the fact that the lefts secrets were released and not so much about the hacking itself.
Note that they’ve always cried about the Podesta “hacking”, but never yet about THE CONTENTS of the leaked emails themselves.
Well, considering that Podesta, or someone who had access to his email account, was dumb enough to click on a link from a phishing attempt, the dems, Podesta and H. Wideload, all deserve whatever befell them.
I read this morning that Obama, OfA, and the rest of the left is intent on sabotaging everything Trump attempts. Valerie Va Jay Jay has moved into the
Obama household in D.C. I’m sure she’s not there to dust the furniture, or take the trash to the curb.
If only Podesta had to take the mandated annual cyber challenge training like all military personnel, Hillary would be president!
Podesta’s password was “password”…
You just can’t make this shit up…
I watch the local news on the CBS channel in the morning at 0630. The network CBS news comes on at 0700 and I have only a few seconds to stop it before my Cheerios regurgitate.
Today, the first three words out of Gag me Gayle King were Trump, election and Russia.
I could not switch to Judge Judy fast enough.
Does this all qualify for the title ‘Comedy of Errors’? Or would ‘Comedy of Egos’ be a better idea?
I see lots of fingerpointing and hand waving, pearls being clutched, and vinaigrettes waved about, but nothing comes of it other than DNC’s e-mails were hacked. They were too cheap to hire a 14-year-old gamer who could easily block the hackers, weren’t they?
Internetting is hard.
The truth hurts doesn’t it?
What’s a news cycle run now, 24-48 hours? And this silly Russian/Trump collusion story keeps cropping up, week after week. No one cares what the sore-losing Lefties would like to find. And here’s an election results update:
Donald J. Trump won the presidency. The house is majority Republican. The Senate is majority Republican. The majority of state legislatures and governorships are Republican. And the next lawyer approved to take a seat on the Supreme Ct will be a conservative constitutionalist. Oh, and then there was that address by President Trump. First presidential address I watched since Bush was in office. Home run. Slam dunk. 70-yard bomb for a touchdown. Goal from center ice. 1st round knockout.
I can buy an entirely new cycle for less than 100 dollars these….. oh, wait, NEWS cycle….. dooohhh!!!
“And the next lawyer approved to take a seat on the Supreme Ct will be a conservative constitutionalist.”
The composition of the Supreme Court probably as important as who sits in the Oval Office. Those appointed by Trump can sway decisions for decades, while simultaneously pissing off the dumbocrats.
Not to mention keeping the gun-control idiots in check. 2A gonna be safe for a long time.
I just hope the left keeps on going with their idiocy, imbecility and juvenile propaganda shenanigans, it will make the Schadenfreude from seeing them get steamrollered in 2018 and 2020 SO MUCH sweeter!
This is quite interesting in light of recent events. There are whispered rumors that former President Obama is trying to undermine President Trump. These rumors were almost completely confirmed when it was revealed that Valerie Jarrett has moved into the Kaloroma home with the Obama family. It will be interesting to see what happens now that Mr. Obama is no longer protected from prosecution by Executive Privilege.
Puppet can’t puppet without the string puller.
Let ‘er rip, I’m stocked up on popcorn, nachos and beer.
Popcorn? Where?
Keep it away from Michael. He’s like an Infantryman with Chilimac.
What you did there, I saw it.
My question for the so-called hackers is why the hell did you only give Trump the Electoral majority? Why not give him the popular vote too?
Is Russian hacking of emails of our political parties an issue? It should be certainly…it should be condemned and measures taken to secure both parties intelligence and operations, but that’s not a taxpayer issue that’s the domain of the parties themselves to provide for their own security the same as my company. We have to take measures to protect client data and secure our system from hacking by everyone, not just Russians.
Additionally what did those hacks uncover? Collusion to rig a primary against Sanders and a host of other sketchy behavior by Clintonites…none of the people in the emails have stated the emails are fabricated lies. They’ve only questioned how those emails were acquired. The hacking uncovered evidence of all manner of unseemly behavior.
I don’t want the Russians hacking our political parties private domains, but I also don’t want our political parties conspiring against their less favorite candidates to promote some establishment drone.
The Democrats have been losing nationwide for 6 years now…that’s where the real reasons behind their loss lie. But it’s nothing new parties flow and ebb as the voters try and find a combination that makes the economy sing and paychecks climb. We vote our paychecks. We always have and most likely we always will…the Dems lost because they’ve been catering to the fringe for 8 years now and the process started self correcting 6 years back as they lost their supermajority. The problem was they had their first black president and any serious introspective reviews of their practices was hampered by cries of racism by the status quo clowns…conversely the Republicans need to be mindful they did not bring a majority of voters along with their man and his message. What the Republicans got was a gift as the voters rejected the Democrats…it’s not an endorsement of everything Trump so much as a repudiation of the status quo at the time. It would be wise for Trump to get on track with jobs lest the Republicans spend the next 2-6 years losing nationally as well.
A self-selected Praetorian Guard is seeking scalps, to frame it as the Kingmaker.
That sort of thing wrecked Rome, and is about to wreck our Republic. It is becoming apparent that some folks have decided that the political process is strictly a one-way process, and any deviation warrents destroying any deviants.
This is going to get very ugly folks, as they are assuming we are going to roll over for it, that they can -enforce- the new order.
And they will try, and in their madness believe they can win.
Pessimist! How many times do I have to pound it into you that the future belongs to WE-E-E-E-E NOT THEMMMM??
Really, Mailman Mouse, the future is NOT cast in stone, no matter what you think.
The Praetorian Guard had a bunch of hits along with their mistakes, but Rome didn’t ‘fall’ until the Empire was divided in the 3rd century into Rome East (Byzantine Empire)and ‘Rome West’ and the City of Rome was no longer the Capital of ‘Rome West’. That position had been occupied by Mediolanum since 286. Rome the City was left unguarded.
The Praetorian Guard was disbanded in the 4th century.
Constantinople was not sacked. The City of Rome was sacked many times, starting in the 4th century.
After the Vandals, Ostrogoths, Gauls, Visigoths, Huns, and whatever else straggled along, looted and pillaged, the City of Rome recovered and by 800AD, on Christmas Day, the official inception of the Holy Roman Empire began.
Meanwhile, the last vestiges of the old Rome East/Byzantine Empire in the East (Turkey) were crumbling.
The future “belongs” to no one. It has to be earned, every freaking day. Six year swing no more guarantees a next victory than the last Dem swing did.
Rome squandered itself in various fratricidal wars. The the PG really got going in the Emporer-making business, the churn burned the Empire into wreckage, form endless Legion-on-legion fighting.
Sitting here, amount ourselves, saying “Ha ha! We won the war for America!” Is -dumb-. We won -one- presidential election. One. To borrrow from Churchill, that is not the End, nor the beginning of the end, nor even the end of the Beginning. It was -one- election that was not decisive. The other side hasn’t accepted it,and a significant fraction are quite obviously prepared to -wreck- it all rather than admit loss. There are several levels of determined in-place actors who mean to undo it, to prevent the current -one- election form having any real meaning, and to ensure that the -next- election goes their way.
By hook, crook, or outright seizure.
If you cannot see that, if you refuse to see it, you are a -fool-.
Give the enemy credit for having at least as much determination and capability as your side, and you can plan their defeat. The other side may be currently throwing a tantrum, but those are -not- the ones fighting the war, are they? No.
I value this Courtney far, far too much to glibly say “Horay! All is won! The ne era is here!” Bullshit. Liberty is an ongoing fight. Accept that, or lose it. We were so warned by the ones who built it.
I am convinced this situation is going to get -ugly- because too many on -our- side think we defeated the threat with one vote. The bastards took decades to get us here, and it will take -decades- to un-fuck this mess.
Constantinople wasn’t Rome. It was a follow-on fragment. I have no desire to see my Nation dismembered, nor another millennia of barbarism fill the void left in its place.
It ain’t over. -They- haven’t conceded, therefore -we- haven’t won.
Yet.
Typos… typos… and the “helpful” corrections of these “smart” gadgets.
Sigh….
Ah well, back I go to the trenches. The other side will wise some of you up shortly.
I am curious if the Twitchy Bitch of Benghazi has learned her lesson and installed better security on her private email server.
Bottom line:
Repeat a lie often enough, eventually people accept it as the truth.
Dems are getting quite adept at mousetrapping themselves.
Senator Gillibrand went on the offensive this AM and got Twitter slapped.
Progtards gotta ‘tard. They can’t help themselves.
