Monday morning feel good stories
From Las Vegas, Nevada;
About 7:45 a.m., a man was doing maintenance on a residence in the 1400 block of Marion, near North Nellis and East Washington, when the suspect attempted to attack the homeowner with a knife and an electric drill, according to Metro Lt. Grant Rogers.
“The homeowner pulled out his firearm and shot the suspect once in the leg,” Rogers stated in a text. “The suspect took off running and neighbor called 911. The suspect was transported to UMC with nonlife-threatening injuries.”
In Arlington, Texas, one DOT;
According to Arlington PD, officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 3700 block of French Wood Drive at about 3 a.m.
Officers found a 17-year-old man with a gunshot wound in the street near the residence. He was sent to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives are investigating this incident as a vehicle burglary that was interrupted by the homeowner. A second suspect fled the scene prior to officer’s arrival.

Damn. 17 years old. Surely junior college was just around the corner and he loved his Mama. Sigh.
Recently here in downtown Baltimore two “youths” wearing their school uniforms and carrying their bookbags carjacked and assaulted an 80 year old city councilwoman in a “secure” garage. They couldn’t figure out how to get out of the garage, and the cops snagged them.
13 and 15, by the way.
One can only surmise what’s next, should they take the post graduate course.
Likely sung in the church choir too.
Bringing an electric drill to a gunfight? LOLZ
If your going to bring a drill to a gunfight, at least get a cordless Milwaukee 28 volt, lithium battery not a piece of crap from Harbor Freight.
See what happens when they remove shop courses from the high school curriculum?
Numb-nuts.
His intent was to bore the victim into submission.
A drill……..I’m going to be chuckling over that all day….
I see what you did there, DBW.
…..”CHUCK”-ling…..
It does add a nice spin to the story.
He should have had proper instruction from a drill instructor
You guys think you’re punny, don’t you?
And in the local paper version of the second story, some neighbor woman was lamenting that it just didn’t seem right that a teenager could lose his life over something like B&E on a car. The fact that by doing said B&E el Deado put himself in harm’s way does not seem to be a concept she has embraced.
Seems to be a lot of that crap going around.
The direct result of no personal responsibility infecting large segments of the American population.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Arlington is not known as a peaceful crime-free suburb of Dallas.
Have a bro-in-law who lived there for many years, in a “nicer” part of town. He has stories that convinced me to never consider moving there at all.
He moved away, bought a house on a lake, and darn if the trailer park near his place didn’t attract more of the same kind of drug-dealing trash he left Arlington to escape.
He is a good shot, though.
