On a good day, the police cannot come to your aid for several minutes, usually in time to take the report and draw the chalk line around a body. You are your own protector, make the chalk line be around the bad guy’s body, not yours. Own a firearm, be proficient with its use, and have it ready whenever anything happens that is not planned.
