December 1 terror attack foiled in Paris

| November 25, 2016

According to AFP, French authorities prevented an attack in Paris that was being planned for December 1st by a cell of terrorists taking instructions from ISIS in Syria;

The source said investigators found the suspects had made internet searches on sites including the Christmas market on the prestigious Champs-Elysees avenue, the Disneyland Paris theme park, cafe terraces in the northeast of the capital, the Paris criminal police headquarters and a metro station.

Two handguns, an automatic pistol, a submachine gun and jihadist propaganda were all found during the raids in which they were arrested.

France is under a state of emergency that gives security forces enhanced powers of surveillance and arrest, a year after the Paris attacks.

So, I guess gun control is working real well in the EU.

The Left is not happy with the powers exercised under the state of emergency. It seems that–unbelievably–Muslims are inexplicably bearing the brunt of the warrantless searches and cold questioning. That’s horrible. Or not.

Yet, the Leftards are the ones who want Big Gubberment to have the extraordinary powers of arrest, trial, sentencing, and execution of certain undesirables. I guess it all depends upon who is defining the undesirables.

The Other Whitey

Can’t say I recall any news about Catholics causing trouble in Frogland. Maybe if the proudly non-assimilating hajjis policed their own, they wouldn’t be getting their doors kicked in.

Well, I suppose the French really are to blame, as they allowed this problem to fester and metastasize for decades by allowing a large immigrant population that refuses to be French, weren’t exactly encouraged to assimilate anyway, and has neighborhoods where sharia supersedes French law on French soil. How the hell did they think that was going to turn out?

think the issues with the pieds-noirs started in the ’50s… been around a while.

Yeah, it was when they let Algerians migrate from Africa to France, long before the current nonsense started, and the Algerian ‘youth’ had trouble finding work. So they rioted. I think that was in the 1990s, possibly earlier during the French-Algerian War in the 1980s.

But since French was spoken widely in Algeria, what was the real problem? Mostly people looking for some way to cause trouble. The November 2005 riots went on for nearly 10 days, caused a lot of damage, and none of that had to happen.

Bad boys. No Christmas presents for them. Only coal in their stockings. Naughty fellows.

I do hope that the French gendarmerie are not particularly polite with these peeps.

Been to Marseille several times during my Cold War Med deployments. Nice town, friendly folks, great food, fun night life.

Sorry that’s all changed.

Private Parts

To be fair an attack at Disneyland Paris would net about zero deaths. Nobody goes there.
