Leslie Rutledge, Arkansas AG, Hillary’s worst nightmare?
The blog for the Arkansas Times is reporting that our attorney general, Leslie Rutledge, is in New York meeting with Trump transition planners. Rutledge, a diminutive fireball conservative elected two years ago, is quoted:
“My interest is in helping the Trump administration,” Rutledge told reporters as she arrived for meetings at Trump Tower in New York. “Whether that’s continuing on as the attorney general of Arkansas or (working) in the administration, then my ears are open.”
It’s the first of those two options, “staying on in Arkansas” that sets my antennae tingling for the simple reason that Rutledge is one of two state attorneys general in the country who have undisputed standing to investigate the Clinton foundation. The other state is New York, but their thoroughly politicized, Democrat attorney general would never lift a hand against the Clinton’s no matter how outrageous their corruption. Both AG’s have standing by virtue of the physical location of foundation offices within their borders.
Rutledge, however, could do a great service for both her own considerable political ambitions and the Trump Administration by accepting the Trump’s justice department hand off the hot potato investigation and prosecution of the Clinton Foundation corruption. Trump could quietly lend Rutledge’s own limited investigatory resources the far greater capabilities of federal agencies to build a lock-tight racketeering case against the Clintons and then quietly fade from the scene before Rutledge (soon to become the world’s most famous state attorney general and a household name) announces the indictments.
Think about it for a moment: Trump could mollify those demanding his promised Clinton investigation by saying that it was ongoing and as president and chief judicial officer he could not comment further all while having his justice department and the FBI quietly continue their own investigations into Clinton’s obvious security violations. But, and it’s a big but, by receding into the background, Trump could fade the heat from angry Democrats that he is persecuting his political opponents. And if Rutledge brought in some quick convictions or plea deals from some of the lower hanging fruit on the foundation staff, all eyes would be on her from that point on until she could either indict or, in a highly unlikely move, clear the Clintons.
If Rutledge were to gain convictions against the Clinton’s, most of the bloodlust on the right would likely be sated with even minimal state sentences. Moreover, Trump would have fulfilled his vow, through a state surrogate, to prosecute Crooked Hillary, and AG Rutledge would be world famous, likely the federal attorney general in a second Trump term, then Arkansas governor, senator, U.S. Supreme Court, who knows where that kind of fame, the woman who nailed the Clinton’s, could take her. And wouldn’t it be so fitting that The Clinton’s should get their comeuppance back here in Arkansas, where their decades-long career of corruption began?
Anyone think perhaps Donald’s thinking the same way I am?

I’m good with that. Besides, there are still a few folks around down there who know where the bodies are buried, so to speak.
The multiple ironies of potential prosecution in Arkansas are fantabulous. Oooh, yes. This would finally satisfy those in Arkansas who still resent Bill’s having brought her socialist, carpet bagging azz to the state.
Big problem with this. This gal at the state level has no authority to investigate the many federal felonies committed by the Hildabeast. She MUST be held accountable for those as well. It is not a matter of wanting to see her suffer, but a matter of wanting to see a long standing criminal get punishment sufficient to match her crimes.
“It is not a matter of wanting to see her suffer…”
You’re a much better man than I am. I want to see the bitch squirm…for years.
I, too, would like to see her suffer, but, I do believe that she’s going to be the beneficiary of a pardon by President Putt.
I think that’s why Poe was saying that she help behind the scenes to create an airtight case.
“It is not a matter of wanting to see her suffer..”
but…I already have the gear necessary to the task and the proper credentials…and….and…I called dibbs.
Maybe Leslie’s up for a Three way? It’s all about compromise. America:Fukk Yeah!
I NEVER refuse an opportunity to highlight this:
This one too with matching graphics for the Lyrics….
It could happen IF Hillary doesn’t give herself an aneurysm.
Or OD on painkillers and vodka.
That or she’ll curl up in a corner and hate herself to death.
Gawd I hope so!
To springboard from UMC Steve’s comment, there are state laws that the Clintons or their foundation could have violated but, by and large, the laws violated would be federal. How Arkansas would fit into this I don’t know, because it’s where the crime occurred that controls, not the state of residence of the perpetrator. The nature of the financial dealings of the Clinton foundation involves international entities, phones, computers and such. This is the stuff of federal jurisdiction. NY laws could have been violated. I don’t know. What did you have in mind as far as Arkansas, PT?
By investigating at the State level, they get around the liberal plants that protect (and leak info to) the Clintons. Hand the evidence over to trusted agents once there is enough compiled that it can’t be buried.
If a corporate entity, and a charity is a corporate entity, has a physical presence in a state, such as an office or branch headquarters, as the Clinton Foundation does in Little Rock, then it comes under the jurisdiction of that state for both civil and criminal offenses.
Why else do you suppose Trump had Rutledge at the Trump Tower? She’s certainly not ready for national office yet, but certainly could be in another four years like I’ve described above after she’s become a nationally known figure. The best way for that to happen is the path I’ve suggested.
It would be helpful if some of our attorney readers chimed in here on jurisdiction matters and state RICO statutes.
You tell me, Cav, why else you think she would she be in New York? As soon as I heard that she was I said to me wife, “Trump’s going to use her to get the Clinton’s.”
You all do know that she could plead mental illness, don’t you? That gives her an out. Were Hitler and Stalin crazy buggers? Not at first, but they let corruption drive them into what can be politely termed craziness.
Besides, I can think of fewer punishments more fitting than a massive stroke that leaves her entombed in a decaying husk. The fall she had a couple of years ago left a blood clot in her brain. I’m sure there were remnants – sticky little remnants – left behind.
But what do I know?
Good, let her. Mental Institution would suit her well anyways, most of her supporters belong there with her.
Woke up with a touch of the evil this morning, did ya?
I like it…
I’m just saying that Karma pulls in everything you do and returns it to you nine times over.
I’m visualizing Percy from The Green Mile at the state institution right now in his slippers and his bathrobe with the #Benghazibitch in his place !!!
Here’s the S. You damn well sure know where it goes.
Be careful 2/17 Air Cav, there is only one “S” left in inventory.
hit! I ee what you mean, ex-O2.
She’ll be on a plane out of the country at the first whiff of an investigation by anyone not beholden to the democrat leadership.
Interesting theory – and counterpoints.
Personally, instead of letting all the what-ifs get me wound up I’m playing the patience game. You know – give ’em enough rope and time, and they’ll get hung somehow.
Also – knowing that on Judgment Day there will be no favoritism, I’m assured that unless they take the only plea-deal any of us can place our hope in, their deeds will be recompensed.
Patience game – yeah, me, too. I’ve never seen Karma fail to do her job.
As mentioned before in other threads, Karma’s a bitch with a long memory, and can wait you out…
The person I think would make an amazing AG and also president is Trey Gowdy.
Here’s a great example of why
I totally agree with you, Instinct.
Just go to YouTube and search for videos with his name, grab a beverage, and sit back and watch him tear people a new asshole.
I’ve watched a bunch and they are all solid gold. His and Mr. Larfarge’s takedown of the EU make a great nights viewing.
Farage. I can’t spell
Here’s another one of Trey being a savage. The look on his face is like he want’s to just reach over and smack the guy.
Oh, crap! I just had a brainfart!->Mr. Gruber’s responses condensed into one sentence.
Mr. Gowdy is far too humble and kind.
There simply MUST be a prominent spot for Gowdy in this administration. He’s too brilliant, well spoken and spontaneous to sit this out. His spontaneous retorts to liberals are classic.
Supreme Court?
It’s always better to let someone else take the risk when it comes to prosecuting a former first lady, secretary of state, and ex-president…because if it goes wrong it’s a career ending mistake or a presidency ending mistake were it on a federal level.
For me it comes down to how much political capital do you want to squander on “getting” the Clintons? You have basically 24 months to show what kind of president and what kind of administration you’re going to have. Everyone should realize that not only did he not win the popular vote, majorities in most battleground states were quite close. If you learn nothing else from the democrats the mid-term change of power should be an important lesson.
If it looks like Trump will spend time chasing the Clintons instead of creating jobs, well I wouldn’t plan on holding 1600 PA for more than 48 months. The states he flipped are in serious economic difficulties, pretending he won on a mandate to set things right with the Clintons would be a huge mistake.
Your idea isn’t necessarily a bad one, but Bush’s dad found out the hard way that most people aren’t much interested in character or ideology they only care about their paychecks and they vote change based on the economy. I would argue this election wasn’t won just because Trump was an outsider, having a weak economy was a major factor.
Great in theory…but I suspect the Clintons have some well-established political support in Arkansas which would try to hinder this at every turn – or fall on a sword to protect them. They didn’t get to be where they are without layers upon layers of supporters there, too. Would I love to see both of them twisting in the wind? Hell yes! But I might also point out that karma works on this who would wreak vengeance, too…remember Ken Starr?
David, since the Clinton’s took their crooked clown show on the road, Arkansas has been becoming more Republican with every election. This recent election sealed the deal: we now hold Governor and Lt. Governor as well as very strong majorities in both houses of the legislature. A few years ago, half the state still voted Democrat–this election only a handful did and with the exception of Pulaski County(Little Rock)those are largely agrarian and heavily black counties.
A successful prosecution of the Clinton’s would probably sound the death knell for Democrats in this state.
I’ve said before and will continue to say it: it is a waste of time, resources and energy to pursue Clinton. Giuliani has said the same thing, as has Trump.
To do so in any venue will appear to be nothing more than petty revenge of some kind in the minds of the idjits who spent 6 days of their useless lives in a meltdown over losing.
If you don’t believe in karma, that’s a shame, but I have seen the karmic backlash happen repeatedly to people who were at least as bad as she is. The Clintons have nothing left in their luggage now. They have nowhere to go, nothing to do except stand around holding highballs and getting drunk. If those rumors are true that their outside cash flow is already drying up, they may also find themselves ostracized by the very people who sucked up to them.
Wait patiently for what time brings, as does the farmer with the fruit. – Mahabharatam.
I disagree. It will show the American People that no-one is above the law and that the rule of law will be followed by everybody or they will be prosecuted. It will also point out how corrupt the Obama DOJ is and was as well as his whole administration. Bringing it out into the sunlight will be the first step in getting America to believe in the government again
It will also fuel more demonstrations and generate more violence and real property damage. If you don’t understand that part, you are not paying attention to how thin the political ice is right now. Making the wrong move will sink any of Trump’s attempts to restore the economy or put people on the bench to oblivion, because it will all be linked to him.
There are more important things at hand than pursuing that harridan and her roommate, the cigar aficionado. They need to be set off to the side where no one pays any attention to them for a good length of time, and if any investigation OR prosecution is opened, it has to wait. Methodical collection of irrefutable evidence is a necessity, as is some patience.
Wait a second, Ex-. You are arguing that because the crazies will go full lawless, the rule of law ought to be put aside. To borrow from oBaMa, ‘That’s not who we are.’ It may be who the crazies are but it’s not the rest of us. Strike while the iron is hot. Putting off Wide Load’s crimes for fear of upsetting the Left means that greater disfavor will be visited upon the Trump Administration for dredging up old news. Her twitchy self needs to be subject to all of the indignities a criminal trial can offer and, in the end, given an orange jump suit with an extra yard of material for her ass. She doesn’t get a pass b/c she lost an election and the crazies don’t get to go violent w/o getting their heads cracked.
Trey is a stud but apparently Pres Elect Trump has other plans for him as Sen Jeff Sessions is going to be our next AG. He is no lightweight either.
I’d never heard of the AR AG. Thanks for the post. I agree with what was written and it is well said.
I hope you are right about Sessions. But wait ’till you see the witch hunt that the Clinton Crime family and their media propagandists mount against Sessions. Check out this POS at Roll Call, Jonathan Allen, biographer of Hillary and former hack at Media Matters. Trump is going to have a tough fight on his hands getting his picks confirmed. The Dhimmicrats are like commies, they follow their party line like a herd of lemmings. Expect multiple filibusters.
He won’t if the Republicans stick together. Dingy Harry removed the filibuster for all but SCOTUS nominations when he was jamming Obama’s picks down our throat so it only takes a simple majority now not a super majority of 60. Whoever Trump wants, he gets.
Jeff Sessions is being portrayed as a racist by the same people who heaped praise on KKK Grand Whatever R. Byrd, US Senator (Dead.) One of those who praised him was H. Clinton. Another darling of the Left, Supreme Ct Justice Hugo Black was also, like Byrd, a Democrat, a KKK’er, and is dead. Sessions was not a member of the KKK but the Left is making it sound as if he was. Elections have consequences, said B. Hussein Obama. Bwahahahahahaha.
