What sort of government is it that you believe you want?

| November 13, 2016

Running around in my mind is a burning question. It is for the people protesting the outcome of the general election. What sort of government is it that you believe you want? Clearly you do not accept our constitutionally guided Representative Republic. If you did, you would marvel at the peaceful transference of executive power that is a prominent model for Western Civilization and the envy of the un-free. The history of the world is not one of freedom or democracy. The percentage of people who can be called free by the standard of the United States of America is miniscule when compared to the remainder of the globe. Not one nation among them can declare that the basis for their government is individual liberty. That is what makes us the exceptional nation, but I am sure you learned that in elementary school.

So again, what sort of government is that you believe you want? I really do want to know what better system you have in mind. Tell me, I will listen but have little tolerance for platitudes. You must first convince me you understand anything about our government and our history. I presume many of you are somewhat educated unless you are among the thugs paid to go to what might otherwise be peaceful protests and cause trouble.

I grew up in the hippie generation and collectively we were about as propagandized and ill-informed as I believe you are – by the same media actually and in our day there was no alternative. Many of us were draft dodgers and war protestors. The free love, flowers in your hair, and psychedelic drugs generation. The well-connected among us got draft deferments or choice positions in the military reserve units that were bursting at the seams. Others ran off to Canada. The remainder did what we thought were supposed to do. These were your grandparents. Many of them moved into academia where they shared with your parents and ultimately you a fantasized worldview about a place they wished existed, a utopia, but it does not exist and it is all because evil America will not allow it to.

I raised a son along with parents who were children of the hippie generation. Even growing up in a military community it was difficult to teach him that in real life there are winners and losers. It was also hard to teach him that you gain little in life by sitting on the sidelines waiting for someone to give you something for nothing. We had our share of parents and program directors that believed every child needed a trophy, every child had to play in the game, and everyone was a winner. I think I have a reasonable understanding of your generation. From me to you, life is not a game without consequences, a game where there are only winners.

I lost track of the stories this past week of distraught college students. Crying circles at Ivy league schools. People fearing they are going to be trotted off to internment camps for what they believe. Sorry, but you have us confused with North Korea, the greater Middle East, Communist China, et al. I heard one young lady declare this is a war and there are going to be casualties, “people have to die.” When you do not even comprehend the full meaning of words that are coming out of your mouth, you cannot possibly survive alone in the real world. Some sage advice once given to me, “Before putting your mouth into operation, ensure to first engage your brain.”

Life is not all daisies and rainbows. Beyond the locked doors of your home, there are no safe zones – and not even there if you are connected to the Internet. Unless you were born with the proverbial silver spoon, life is a place where you must earn your way. There is no president that can give you all you want. Your participation trophy is a paycheck for work done. Life does not run on emotion, which differs greatly from passion. Yours may run high or they may be low, but it is reality that drives life. Nothing else does. Most people are respectful of others and their beliefs, but they too have beliefs and no obligation to embrace yours.

So, your candidate lost. Protests and vandalism will not change that. Maybe you should look at why you lost. Many people do not like being called deplorable. People do not like “protestors” destroying property and the businesses that support their communities. Maybe you were led down the primrose pathway by a media that amounted to little more than pure propaganda. One that convinced you there was no way you could lose. Four years from now you will have had time to educate yourselves. Maybe this dose of reality will be good for you.

Proggies just want to be in charge because they think they are smarter and more moral than the rest of us, they also think that the political constraints that others who have governed had to face somehow don’t apply to them, probably because of how smart and “special” they are. Because they are so uniquely good, anyone who opposes them must only be motivated by bad intentions. Tom Sowell had them pegged when he wrote “the Vision of the Anointed”.

Yep and people don’t like lying phonies that want to slaughter babies, or kill Americans like in Benghazi, nor slugs that are so corrupt they sell Americas secrets to the highest bidder..nor perverts and pedophiles…the morons on the street are being paid, thats all they care about, a free ride…soros wants to create anarchy so his NWO can step in, activate the foreign troops that are here and restore what communists call order…..NO THANKS! Obama is right in the middle of it, a mass rioting would cause him to put martial law in effect, exactly what he wanted all along!

Civilwarrior

Holy shit that was an awesome read.

Retired Sergeant Major Pendry can be relied on to always produce a well-written, well-reasoned essay.

Thanks for another good one, JD.

ex-OS2

“but I am sure you learned that in elementary school.”

That is the problem, they no longer teach civics.

Well written piece J.D. Pendry, thank you.

Hondo

Nailed it. Today’s “education” is education in name only. Indoctrination would be a better description.

My grandson is in the third grade in public school. His teacher was busy telling his class right up until Wednesday morning that Hildabeast was going to win and how it will be great for her to be the first woman president. I talked to him yesterday and he said his teacher didn’t have anything to say about the election on Wed. and looked sad. His parents both voted for Cankles, but after his grandma schooled him on politics and truth for the past 6 months, he decided he wanted Trump to win. Needless to say his view was not popular with his classmates or mommy & daddy.

HMCS(FMF) ret

Saw some of the teachers in my local school district… many were depressed, almost suicidal, over the election outcome. Didn’t help that they tried to pass a school construction bond and couldn’t meet the super-majority criteria (60% approval) for it to pass. Also, they had their asses handed to them earlier this year on a new, two year contract that their union negotiated for them – nowhere near the pay and bennies of surrounding districts.

Education in this country is a joke – no matter what they do to improve the “leaning experience”, the kids still have major problems reading, writing and doing math. Maybe education itself needs to return to the basics, starting with the elimination of the Department of Education.

As for what type of government the stank ass hippies and socialists want, any government that gives them “free shit” is all they want – at the worker’s expense…

Good article, J. D.!

My cousin and her husband are public school teachers. Kristallnacht figured prominently in their FB posts all last week.

Yeah, I wish I was kidding.

Eden

Indoctrination has ALWAYS been the stated intention of the public school system in this country, ever since the Bay Colony schools in 1650.

Silentium Est Aureum

I see what they “teach” my kids. Believe me, we’re I able to quit my job and educate them myself, I would.

For now, all I can do is lead by example and show my children first hand what they are exposed to in school is total bullshit.

Silentium Est Aureum

Were. FML. And fuck autocorrect.

Ex-PH2

They didn’t even learn to read in elementary school. By not learning to read, they didn’t learn anything.

If you really pin down the nasty Proggies about what kind of government they want, they will probably tell you that they want real freedom, free education, jobs, etc., but if you tell them that’s already in place, they won’t believe you.

It’s not what kind of government that’s the issue here. It’s the lack of information, the lack of real-world experience, the utter ignorance of how bad it really is in other places and even worse, sheer ignorance about what really happens in this country. I don’t know how to cure that other than dropping them off in North Korea for about 6 months, and then making them spend some time working in the Middle East or China or India.

A Proud Infidel®™

We also have Haiti, Cuba, and Venezuela for them to go see. I’m all for giving them a mandatory thirty day stay in Venezuela and IF they survive that they can come back and try to tell me how bad they have it here in the USA. Hell, if only I could have taken some with me on the missions I did in the ME they might not feel so self-entitled.

Silentium Est Aureum

Hell, you don’t even have to go to that extreme. Send them to their beloved Europe, or Japan/Korea, or even Canada.

Imagine their faces when arriving in, say, the Netherlands, they’re hit with a MINIMUM 46% income tax. Or Japan, where a beer costs $10, and the average apartment for a family of 4-5 is smaller than the master suite in my house (400 Sq ft., for the record.) Or Canada, where getting into a specialist makes the VA look like a paragon of efficiency.

A Proud Infidel®™

I hear you SEA, but why give them a mild sample when you can make ’em spread their cheeks and get The Full Monty?

A Proud Infidel®™

Well done< Mr. Pendry. I see these "protests" as little more than antisocial mobs of ill-educated, and raised little candyassed snowflakes who were never taught how to cope when things don't go their way raised by parents who were more concerned about being their kids' pals than anything else, products of the "Everyone gets a hug and a trophy", most of whom will get eaten alive in the real world. I see them as the same breed as the "Occupy Protesters", those snotnosed little self-entitled fleabags who think the world owes them everything because their reality-impaired ponytailed professors said so. I sincerely hope Trump does what he said he wanted to do with the Dept. of Education, that needs to be gutted and thrown out! As for the hippie fleabags doing this, I hope they end up like the ones in a video shot in Texas where the LEOs didn't put up with their shit. I am also of the opinion that most of them are lazy cowards after seeing video of a pregnant woman trying to get to a hospital that was blocked by those fleabags who also vandalized her car. Those fleabag vermin are only bold when they either heavily outnumber their intended prey or outweigh them like the fat PUNK who bullied the homeless woman trying to protect trump's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I heavily encourage all working people to HAVE YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD HIPPIES SPAYED OR NEUTERED.

Ex-PH2

I disagree. Those ‘protests’ were bought and paid for by Moveon, which belongs to George Soros. All those whiny, tearful children who wanted exemption from their midterms at various universities are very likely to be part of the groups that were bused into places like Dallas and Chicago to cause damage and disruption.
I’m sure that they got their money’s worth, too. But it would be more appropriate if any instructors at those colleges gave them lower grades for missing the tests and the classes.

A Proud infidel®™

Oh, Soros is absolutely funding as much of that as he can, but I still stand by what I said.

rgr769

I would donate to the free spay and neuter clinics.

Asking the proles on the street is useless. They have no clue. They just do what they’re told in a Nuremberg Defense sort of way.

No use asking the DNC either, since they’re just middle managers.

To get your answers, you’re gonna have to go to the source… George Soros.

HMCS(FMF) ret

Soros… owner and operator of the Barbed Cock of Satan. Assclown will sell anyone out if it puts more money in his pocket. Probably got a good “education” from the Nazi’s while he was living in Hungary during WWII.

Locker room/barracks level lingo is fair common, but there’s some stuff worth checking out for those who want to try to keep up.

Whatever they may claim to want in a government, it does not provide for individual liberty. These folks never talk about uplifting the individual or maximizing individual freedom; instead, their approach is group think and collective centered. The glorious aim of our Constitution is to minimize government, to set forth limitations and dole out specific powers and duties, to fend off the unholy impulse of those entrusted with power to increase their power and to subjugate others. You will never hear one of the twits say, “Leave me alone and I’ll leave you alone.” That’s not their way. Their way is to use wield government as a weapon to force their will upon others. If it’s not Congress, it’s the president they look to. If neither goes their way, they file suit and have a court do their dirty work. If none of that provides instant relief, then the government must be faulted, perhaps changed fundamentally, and to help make their point, violence may be employed. I am sick to death of these bastards and loving every second of their present pain.

FatCircles0311

They are in the anger part of coping with a grief. The media and just about everyone has lied to them for years indoctirinaring them to hate so much that when reality hit it was a bombshell. Also many do hate the United States and our constitution. These people are the domestic enemies warned about in the military oaths of service.

The only time you see an American flag with these people if it being disrespected , otherwise it’s foreign flags and sex flags.

Wilted Willy

I am so glad we are sending our grandson to a private Babtist school. he will be able to go there all the way thru grade 12! They actually teach them to read and write and he also has to memorize bible verses! Not everyone gets a trophy either! I love this school!!!

chooee lee

How do I get a job protesting and busting up shit ? Good cigars and whiskey arent getting any cheaper and I could use a litte extra walking around money.

JUST KIDDING !!

Hondo

Call the DNC.

Oh, wait. The election is over. It’ll be a few years before they hiring for that job again.

Ex-PH2

Maybe by that time, that old Nazi Soreass will be dead and his mini-mees will be squabbling over the spoils.

Grimmy

Check Craig’s List. They’ve been advertising ‘jobs’ for protesters there. Pay has gone up from $15.00 an hour to $35.00.

Pro agitpropers are being offered signing bonuses in the multiple thousands of dollar range.

So, my wife tells me this morning that a co-worker of hers took her to task yesterday about voting against Clinton. During the discussion, my wife raised the matter of Benghazi to the co-worker. The retort? “Only four people died at Benghazi!” And that, ladies and gentlemen, is all I need offer about that discussion.

Ex-PH2

My response would be that more than 5 million people showed up for a parade and rally in Grant Park for the Chicago Cubs and nobody broke anything, tore down anything, turned over cars, set fire to anything or blocked entrances to private property.

Then I’d ask the co-worker how she’d like to have access to her home blocked by a bunch of Disgruntled spoiled brats, or how she’d like to have her business destroyed by paid thugs.

But this is why I don’t discuss politics or how I voted with anyone.

2/17 Air Cav

Yeah, some of the Tards are ensuring that violence and intolerance accompanies the Trump presidency, just as the Tards predicted would happen. And the media have learned nothing. It is not news to report another act of violence perpetrated by Wide Load supporters, nor is it correct to characterize many of them as “protesters.” Words matter.

Veritas Omnia Vincit

That last paragraph is spot on JD…nicely written piece.

Trump the negotiator can guarantee another 4 years for himself, he has the ability to compromise and work with almost anyone. Giuliani signaled that with the comment about why continue to investigate the Clintons….I suspect that means there will be no further action on that front. That might be the first sign that Trump the negotiator will be the president we get and not some conservative bastion of right wing beliefs.

2/17 Air Cav

Hey. Want a chuckle? Just imagine what Wide Load’s appointment calendar looked like before Wednesday morning and what it looks like today.

Trump won. I’m horrified. I have to think some of you guys have serious reservations about him too. But he won, so I’ll try and reserve judgement for a while. But seeing the corpses that have risen from the grave to populate his cabinet do not give me hope.
