PFC Karlyn Serane Ramirez’ murderer arrested
A year ago August, PFC Karlyn Serane Ramirez’ lifeless body was found in her apartment riddled with bullets, along with her uninjured 5 month-old daughter near Fort Meade, Maryland. Her estranged husband, and baby-daddy, Army Master Sergeant Maliek Kearney was indicted by a grand jury along with his current girlfriend Dolores Delgado for the murder last week, according to the Patch. Prosecutors claim that Kearney was stationed at Fort Jackson at the time of Ramirez’ murder;
The couple were indicted Tuesday by a Maryland grand jury for interstate travel to commit domestic violence resulting in death; the indictment was unsealed after the defendants were arrested Thursday in San Antonio on Thursday.
Kearney had claimed that he was on duty at Ft. Jackson the night of the murder, but I guess prosecutors disproved that. After the murder, he moved to San Antonio to be near the murder victim’s family for the baby. Of course, his co-conspirator, Delgado was also from San Antonio, so that worked out for him.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department and the United States Army Criminal Investigation Command offered a $20,000 reward for information leading to the killer.

When you conspire to commit a murder, you have all ready made a fatal mistake: there’s another person who is in on it. And when that other person is presented with certain evidence and is told the penalty for murder and the associated other crimes, well, it’s over. She will make a deal, take her 5 years, and he will be cooked. In turn, at some point, he will realize it’s all over and plead out and get 30 years. Done.

His Catholic faith prevented him from supporting the death penalty. For some reason, his Catholic faith does not prevent him from supporting abortion.
Someone here can clear up my confusion about one fact:
It is the civil authorities who are prosecuting this. What is keeping this from becoming a military case? The victim and the accused are both Army, and wasn’t he at least active duty at the time?

UCMJ applies, but, by law, civilian courts get the first crack at trying the case. After he is convicted in civilian court, the court martial will take place.
It depends on who gets jurisdiction over the case. It could’ve gone a variety of ways. Since the Army isn’t killing anyone either, I don’t think that’s what they were going for. I’m guessing they came to a happy medium because state prison would be worse than leavenworth.
Maybe they’ll be sending him to Baltimore for his sentence. Just having to live in that city ought to be harsh.

I’m going to guess they were tracking his phone, or his chica’s phone, and/or looked at his fancy car’s computer. They could’ve also tracked his car at gas stations, and/or on cameras at local convenience stores, and/or the Ramirez’s apartment.
They aren’t saying why because they’ll be talking about that during the trial and showing all the pieces they put together to show that dipshit and dipshitorina were calculated and plotted a lot of the details so they could kill her and make it seem like he was hanging in his crib at home.
