Brian Duffy and gun control

| October 8, 2016

Kenny Oglesby

The other day, in Atlanta, Georgia, Kenny Oglesby (pictured above) was pumping gas into his BMW SUV when he was approached by Brian Duffy (pictured below) and another criminal. Duffy tried to take Oglesby’s SUV, but the man resisted. They shot 44-year-old Oglesby dead. The pair tried to steal the truck, but they couldn’t get it started so they left it behind in their Toyota. Oglesby stumbled into the nearby convenience store and collapsed. he was dead when police arrived, leaving his son fatherless.

Police caught up to Duffy, but his partner is still free. According to the local police chief, 25-year-old Duffy was just recently paroled on an armed robbery beef.

Fulton County Police Chief Gary Stiles told Channel 2 Action News that Brian Duffy was already on probation for armed robbery when he allegedly shot and killed Kenneth Oglesby at a Chevron gas station on Thursday.

“Once again we have a young man who committed a heinous murder who should’ve been in prison,” Stiles told Channel 2.

Once again we see a violent criminal who has no problem getting a gun. We can be reasonably certain that he didn’t go through the NICS system. But all of the laws in the world won’t keep guns out of the hands of the Brian Duffys, but that won’t stop legislators from writing new laws.

It isn’t a lack of gun laws that are causing gun crimes. It is a lack of enforcement of existing laws. When judges turn criminals right back out on the streets, either with low bonds, or with short prison sentences, it make the hard work of law enforcement almost a joke. A sad, deadly, joke. The poor conduct of the courts not only releases the offender, but sends a message to the potential offender that they won’t be treated harshly. It isn’t the lack of gun laws.

Too damned bad the victim didn’t have a gun, then the right body would be laying in the morque! the a.h. perpetrator! Make the judge support the victims family…and serve time!!!

Condolences to the Olgesby family. How does that old phrase go? ‘You can pick and choose your friends but you can’t pick or choose your family’, or ‘guilt by association’. There should only be one rule: if a murder happens during the commission of a crime, all involved (criminals) get the Death Penalty. It doesn’t matter who did it, by associating with that crowd (you picked them to hang out with) you are guilty whether you knew of your fellow criminal’s intentions or not. Gun crime is an epidemic committed over and over by the same individuals. Why are we continuing to screw around with these idiots??? ‘Live by the sword, die by the sword’.

What happens when you have more criminals than jails?

Cull the herd.

I have enough ammo to cure that little problem…

Does anyone know the value of parole and probation? I’ll tell you. The value of parole is zero. Inmates released from prison on parole either make it on their own or they don’t make it at all. They decide and that’s that. As for probation, its primary value is to allow judges to divert both deserving and undeserving defendants from prison for any reason or no reason. Probation is fine for petty crims, DWIs, and such, but should never be used for violent felonies. Either cut the bastard lose or, preferably, lock him up for a long, long stretch, but probation is useless for these guys. Of course, all public safety depts will say otherwise. Their jobs depend on the continuation of the game.

Where’s the usual cast (Jesse Jackasson and Al “racebait” Sharpton) getting into the camera and screeching about the death of Mr. Kenny Oglesby? An innocent man killed pumping gas by a thug, and not one word from the Black/African American community?

But, they’ll get on the highest mountain and scream about thuggster Brian Duffy being a victim of the evil, oppressive ways of DA MAN, and insist that Duffy get a light sentence – and that the Second Amendment be used as a liner for a bird cage.

Duffy needs to be on an accelerated path to meet his maker… the sooner, the better

CHERYL

THESE CRIMINALS LIKE BRIAN DUFFY NEED TO BE PUT TO DEATH. THERE IS NO CHANCE IN HELL IF HE EVER GET OUT AGAIN HE WILL WALK A STRAIGHT & NARROW LINE IN LIFE. THIS IS A DANGEROUS CRIMINAL WHO NEEDS TO BE DEAD OR LOCKED UP FOR LIFE FROM SOCIETY. MR KENNETH OGLESBY DID NOT DESERVE TO HAVE THIS THESE ANIMALS GUN HIM DOWN JUST FOR A VECHILE. I MUST SAY BLACK LIVES MATTER ALWAYS INVOLVED WHEN THERE IS A POLICE SHOOTING A BLACK MAN, BUT NEVER AROUND & MARCHING WHEN BLACK MEN KILLING EACH OTHER. PEOPLE WAKE UP CAN’T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS.REST IN PEACE MR KENNETH OGLESBY…

What’s with the “CAPS LOCK”?

Apparently Black lives don’t matter to Black repeat-offenders. This piece of shit Duffy got his hands on a weapon and ammo in spite of laws saying he can’t, laws which liberal politicians insist will prevent this very thing. They obviously didn’t obtain that armament legally, because they don’t care about the law (I know, criminals, right?). Many on the left will say he should’ve just let them take his vehicle. Bullshit! This is not some anarchist war zone where shitbags can just take what they please! Mr. Oglesby had every right to resist the theft of his property! Maybe some bleeding-heart pussy would’ve rolled over and given them everything they wanted, but Mr. Oglesby chose to act as a man! Yes, it was risky, but he clearly wasn’t a fucking coward! It cost him his life because these chickenshit laws don’t do anything except disarm the victims! If only Mr. Oglesby had been sufficiently armed to defend himself, perhaps this would be a feel-good story about him culling some defects from the gene pool. Instead, an innocent man lost his life, and an innocent boy lost his father, because a couple of nutless parasites wanted his wheels. It didn’t happen because of guns. It happened because this piece of shit wasn’t kept in jail for his multiple prior offenses, and Mr. Oglesby lacked the means to defend himself and his property effectively. Where’s the Black Lives Matter crowd? An innocent Black man was murdered, so where are they in this? That’s right, nowhere to be seen if they don’t see an excuse to start a riot and play the victim card. But you can bet your ass that if local cops had smoked this murdering sack of rat shit Duffy, they’d be up in arms. No doubt, as with most professional felons, his mother would’ve shrieked to the heavens about how her poor baby boy never hurt nobody, CBS would put up a photo of him in 6th grade (before he dropped out), etc. My prayers and condolences go out to the Oglesby family. I hope Brian Duffy gets the… Read more »

Probably finding reasons to blame the cops for the black guy killing the black guy.

#BlackLiesMurder

The entire BLM thing is nothing more than a pysops to paralyze policing and support violent predators.

Anyone falling for the BLM bullshit shares guilt and should be viewed as enemy along with BLM and all it’s supporters.

Ben & Jerry’s ice cream apparently joined that bandwagon

I see no reason to support financially the barking moonbats in their C-suite.

Past time to bring back public executions. Watching your homie hang by the neck until dead would be a deterrent and might reduce the numbers.

David

Research has consistently shown that the death penalty does little to deter criminals…thugs gotta thug. However, empirical evidence has shown that execution is a 100% deterrent to the executee ever committing any further crimes.

Yef

You do know you are repeating a liberal talking point, right?

I read through a lot of the anti capital punishment research, and none of it was done scientifically.

OWB

Not gonna do the research necessary to actually scientifically prove my point, but since you strayed into my lane on that one (also without documentation) I will throw out an opposing opinion.

For several decades, I did in fact keep up with the research on this one. Death rates during the commission of felony crimes, particularly among potential witnesses to those crimes, tended to go up after implementation of death penalties for capitol offenses. One plausible theory was that having committed one capitol crime, taking out the witnesses made good sense to the criminal since it eliminated witnesses to testify.

That wasn’t particularly what I wanted the statistics to show, but the numbers were what they were. The trends were what they were.

If analyzing facts and figures, following the numbers wherever they take me makes me a “liberal,” then you might need to change whatever it is that you be drinkin’.

UpNorth

Capital punishment deters the executed criminal every time it’s used, David.

nbcguy54ACTUAL

The death penalty, when applied at the crime’s point of origin, has been proven to be a 100% deterrent.

“Many on the left will say he should’ve just let them take his vehicle.” It’s not just the Lefties. Police will advise to comply, too. I guess the situation dictates one’s reaction. Some years ago, a bank was robbed in Baltimore county, MD. Four employees were told to get in the vault and lie down. They complied and each was shot, one by one. The counter argument to that is you must assume that you will be shot, that’s why the bad guy has the gun–and so you do everything and anything to overcome the bad guy.

The Other Whitey

Like I said, Kenneth Oglesby was clearly not a coward. I know nothing else about him, but he was no coward.

It won’t bring him back, but the man’s son should know that about his father.

Pinto Nag

When somebody points a gun at you, your two choices at that moment are whether you want the holes in the front or the back and, if you want to be on your feet or your knees when they’re applied. If you think you have any other choices, you’re fooling yourself.

2/17 Air Cav

PN. There are other choices, such as whether you want to go out on your knees or standing. As TOW said, this man went out standing.

And in related news President Obama increased his clemency rate for armed drug offenders from 13% last month to 22%. Being president means you can also be a sentencing judge.

Go out in public these days unarmed and unaware of your immediate surroundings, and you literally put your life at risk. Be Armed, Be Aware, Be Prepared and most of all…..wipe the word hesitation from your mind. If you lack the balls to end a situation with an immediate bullet to a perp’s head, then know you risk a “witness” who will ALWAYS be given the doubt because you were white, evil, and weak. No time for candy ass behavior these days. Cemeteries are being filled with people who are ill prepared and unwilling to handle the matter. I NEVER leave home “without it” and will NEVER be so passive as to not pay attention. The day I die at the hand of a group of primitive baboons is when the obituaries include at least one for every round I carry. A person reaches the age when they know there is but ONE way to defuse and end trouble. My guess is most who read and post on this web site down deep feel the same, but are smarter than me and keep their mouth shut. In an imaginary world all who post on here would live within shouting distance of one another. F__k with one of us and deal with ALL of us. In the real world I say I’ve lived a full life already, but have NO hesitation to PREVENT a chimp from shortening mine.

wilted willy

Jarhead, you can move in next door to me any day! In fact, the house is vacant at the moment. A proud vet used to live there but passed away last year at the ripe old age of 91! Anyone that comes onto my property uninvited will get 3 rounds center mass and one in the brain bucket! Police lives Matter!!!

jarhead

That’s at least a start. Seriously, can you just imagine a colony of no-nonsense vets living in a given area? Which brings me to what some of you will consider a ridiculous thought. Knowing numbers in strength is so important, if we do end up in a SHTF situation, we have nine acres(half of which is fenced in with four ft tight mesh fence with three strands of barb wire above that, two BAD ASS serious German Shepherds and adequate room for a select few others WITH REFERENCES. Prepared as such to not have to depend on an electric well if need be. Crazy as it sounds, a point of refuge is some times within reach when you last expected it. Three day getaway bag is NOT in our vocabulary. Powerful solar powered electric fence, in addition to a single strand of razor wire are both in the ready. My boots will still be on if the day comes when a SHTF situation brings me my final day. Some will cave in and surrender out of fear, some will try to hide, some will never be prepared or organized…..but some of us will face that day we hope never comes…..with confidence. Anyone who reads with the minimal thought of planning for the “just in case” knows those in rural settings will fare better than those in city subdivisions. Frankly, and no doubt paranoid as some would like to think, I see the most difficult times of our entire past life coming to a head between the election and Jan 20. If that day passes without interruption, then I can find myself more at ease. Until that time, I remain vigilant and no more.
