The irony of seeing liberals – who are responsible for creating the social programs whose out of control spending is bankrupting the nation – complaining about the libertarian economic proposals being “irresponsible” is delicious. But understanding that irony is probably beyond the intellectual ability of most of the DUmmies.

The DUer in the first listed thread asks, “Should we maybe start a campaign to get rid of Andrea Mitchell?” That’s right. When a talking head or newsy upsets the left, the left calls for that person’s dismissal. The person is a traitor to the cause! The person needs to go! And the left enjoys labeling conservatives and constitutionalists Nazis and fascists.

There is a disturbance in the Force. They begin to sense it, hovering in their darkened caves, with threads of sunshine sneaking in under the flap of tatty burlap.

But, hark! What light in yonder window grows? It is the dawn and Reality is the Sun.

Well, that was fun. They are starting to chase their own tails, Claymore. It will hurt when they catch up. I see a sale on fleece blankets and an increase in thumbsucking starting up.

“Destroyed by a maniac, by a demagogue and a purveyor of hate.” Yes, that’s supposed to be a complete sentence. Strunk and White will have their revenge.

Claymore

This is perhaps the best thread of them all:

Unfortunately, while I enjoy the sentiment immensely, the knuckleheads will soon learn that travel costs money and their new countries will neither pay for their transport nor support them. One guy says he will be cashing out his investments. I wonder just how much that is, enough to pay for a passport and visa? And what makes these deadbeats think that the countries they’re daydreaming about moving to will allow them in? Those countries aren’t the USA. They have immigration standards that are actually enforced.

Ex-PH2

Oh, they have investments and 401ks and stuff, do they?

Just how long do they think that would last if shrillary got into the WH and decided that all that retirement investment money should be swept into a mono-fund to supplement Social Security so that it won’t go broke?

Veritas Omnia Vincit

Dipshits at DU gotta do what dipshits everywhere do, cry and whine like the entitled snowflakes they are. Don’t get what they want they quit and take their ball and go home.

Good fucking riddance I say.

2/17 Air Cav

These DUers know what’s happening but, as usual, they are blaming the wrong factor for the turnabout in the Wide Load/Trump contest. The Left alternatively laments the failure of Wide Load to get her messages across or of her failure to lie better and propagandize more convincingly. They really don’t get it. Yesterday, Wide Load and Trump held rallies. Estimates of attendees at Wide Load’s ranged from 200-250. Estimates of attendees at Trump’s were 8-10 thousand. Be nervous Left. Be very, very nervous.

And here I was, thinking about moving to New Zealand.

So was Ruth Bader “Have-I-Been-Embalmed-Yet?” Ginsburg. She later said she should not have said that because, you know, Supreme Court justices are supposed to be apolitical. Just the same, if Trump wins, that’s where she said she is going. My question to her is, why wait?

Hondo

She’s just proven she’s anything but “apolitical”, 2/17. Do you really have to ask why she’s waiting?

Hondo

New Zealand? Nice – if you like predominantly cool weather and liberal politics. Not so nice if you enjoy being warm and also enjoy freedom.

Ex-PH2

Alpine climate. No language barrier. The NZ dollar is now $.73:$1.00 USD, and prices are generally numerically the same, which means my meager funds would go just a tad further.

And it’s got those mountains.

Might want to read this first.

https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-trty/newzld.pdf

Even if ya go there, Uncle Sugar still gets his cut of any pension income. If I’m reading that correctly, he also gets his cut of any earned income and interest/dividend income, too.

I’ve worked briefly with someone who emigrated from NZ to the USA. Let’s just say it wouldn’t surprise me much to find out they regularly commented at DU. And based on their line of work, I’m guessing they were more conservative than the average Kiwi.

Ex-PH2

Oh, I know ex-pats still have to pay US taxes. They may also have to pay in-country income tax. There’s no free ride anywhere. Let’s do remember that quite a few ex-pats have given up their US citizenship because they didn’t want the burden of dual tax systems any more. Tina Turner, for instance, lives in Switzerland, and had a massive tax burden for both the US and Switzer systems, so she chose Swiss citizenship.

I was just ogling the mountains.

Jonn Lilyea

Panama doesn’t collect taxes on US retirees. No property taxes either.

Ex-PH2

But – but they have BUGS the size of horses!

David

Ah, yes, the whining that the media is against Clinton again… I predicted it. ‘Course, that was
about as tough as predicting sunrise.

The only depressing thing about reading all the promises to leave if Trump is elected is that they are all lying, as usual.

Ex-PH2

I found it curious that those who said ‘I’ll beat it into the wilderness with a month’s supply of food’ think a month’s worth of granola bars and freeze-dried veggies will be enough.

Bill M

Might be ’cause they’ll be out there without guns for hunting and won’t eat fish (vegan ya know). They think they’ll just go to Starbucks and World Foods. There’s one behind every in other tree in that wilderness place, isn’t there?

Ex-PH2

I was sound asleep when you wrote that, Bill M. We both left out the part about seasonal issues, e.g., the approaching winter in the northern hemisphere.

If I go by the Farmers Almanac, it will be a rough one, with bitter cold and heavy snow.

If I go by the Old Farmers Almanac, it will be a mild winter with lots of snow.

If I go by historical records, 60% of hot summers like this past one (still 80s today) are followed by mild winters with lots of snow.

So I’ll take the average and opt for mild, snow, many birds, and check the ergonomic snow shovel.

All winter boots are in place. Summer clothes get laundered and put away this weekend.

Pantry shelves and freezer are being restocked for winter. New furnace filters are in the utility room. Laundry detergent bought on BOGO sales is stocked.

Life is good in my kingdom, but those poor old hippies think they’ll get by on a month’s worth of foodstuffs. (SNERK!!!)

Okay! Liberalism really IS a mental disorder.

2/17 Air Cav

Just looked at the “…well considering her network’s ratings.” Both of Rachel Madcow’s viewers commented.

Bill M

Jeez, I read a couple of those links. Thanks Claymore for doing this so I don’t have to. Can people really survive being that stupid?

Hondo

With SNAP, housing assistance, and Medicaid – yes. And because that’s the case, they have no reason to educate themselves concerning reality.

I won’t bother to point out who’s paying for all of that.
