Sunday morning feel good stories

| September 4, 2016

A business owner in San Antonio, Texas caught three burglars trying to break into his business. When he confronted them, one lunged at him putting him in fear for his safety – he shot the fellow with his handgun in the chest. The thief is recovering from his injuries and his partners are getting a much needed rest in a cell. I know it sounds like the story we did yesterday, from San Antonio, but it’s not.

A Scranton, Pennsylvania deli owner chased after a thief who had shoplifted from his business. When the criminal brandished a knife, the owner fired a warning shot. Neither were injured and the thief is still on the loose.

In Detroit, Michigan, a man at an ATM was approached by an armed thief who demanded money. The victim, instead poured lead in his direction. The thief got off a couple of shots which injured the victim, but he’s expected to survive. It’s not known if the criminal was injured, but we can hope can’t we?

It seems as if an inordinate amount of these Feel Good Stories originate in Texas. You would think by that the criminal element would wise up to the fact that a lot of (good) people in Texas have access to firearms, and they like to keep the shit that work for. On the positive side, the commemorative T-shirt, Teddy Bear and Candle industry in Texas must be thriving.

The Texas Triangle: Houston, Dallas, San Antonio/Austin. Also Oklahoma City, Detroit, So Cal, and Oregon seems to lead the FGS parade.

Warning shot? He failed the practical application portion of the live fire exam.

Sounds to me like a gun owner that is too tender hearted to use it the way it’s supposed to be used. Maybe pepper spray would be more his speed.

Warning Shot = “I missed”.

More range time.

And at home here in Slammintonio the bad guys are lucky it’s homeowners and business owners doing the shooting. Our cops take their range time serious. Most bad guys end up on slabs after being engaged by our Men & Women in blue.

Don’t get me started on LYING about using a gun. If you can’t own what you do, then you damn sure can’t take responsibility for owning a firearm. If you fired a warning shot, then say it. If you missed, you say that, too. And if the legalities of using a firearm worry you, then find another way to protect/defend yourself. A gun doesn’t cure it’s handler of cowardice, it simply makes it more obvious.
