Friday morning feel good stories
Kevin sends us our first feel good story this morning. It’s from Fort Bend County, Texas where where a criminal tried to rob a homeowner in his own driveway. The victim pulled out his own gun and shot the thief twice. The twenty-year-old was found on the lawn and declared DRT (dead right there) by the police. They’re looking for two others to pin the murder on. They were seen by witnesses driving off at a high rate of speed after the shooting.
Three men forced their way into a home in Troy, Alabama. When they confronted the homeowner, they ordered him to “give it up”. Instead, the homeowner wrestled the gun away from the nearest criminal and busted caps on the trio. They fled the scene, but about 200 yards away, police found one of them, Javonte King, 21, in pool of his own blood. They declared him DRT (dead right there). The other two, Anthony Jerome Starks, 23, and Davaris Mendenhall, 20, were found nearby and they’ll be charged with the dead King’s murder.

I am old and do not get many firsts in life anymore. But, the name (if you want to call it that) Javonte is a first. Where in the hell did his parent (notice no “s”) come up with that one. I would just like to really know, just so I can shake my head and say “damn”.
I think the technical term for how that name came to exist is called “rectus extractus parentis”.
In my current job, most of my employees are from low income backgrounds.
Javonte is quite tame. My favorite is Funsha. (Fun-shay)

Now, for an analysis of today’s “armed citizen batting line”.
6 total perps; 2 DRT, 2 in custody and facing murder charges; 2 still on the run but also looking at felony murder charges; 0 successful crimes. That’s 4 for 4 with 2 HRs, 2 other extra-base hits – plus 2 walks.
However, the guy in Troy would be wise to get his own firearm. As Jonn’s observed previously: it’s not a good practice to depend on a perp providing one for your use. You need to have your own.
Damn! Two HRs for two at-bats. Nice shootin’, one and all.
