Adam Huffer; phony SEAL
The folks at Military Phony sent us their work on this Adam Westlee Huffer fellow. He claims to be a Navy SEAL with 4 deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, three Purple Heart Medals (he turned down one Purple Heart because he thought someone else deserved it instead – what a guy) and a Navy Cross;
He claims that he’s in BUD/S class 3419 – so he’ll be graduating soon in the year 2525. But the folks at Naval Special Warfare haven’t heard of him, yet;
The Navy says that he’s a Reservist and the only active duty he has is for initial training. He is a SEABEE and an E-3 BUCN – Builder/Constructionman.
I’d think that being a SEABEE is a big deal in and of itself, but not for Mr Huffer, I guess.

Don’t know if anyone has contacted Shipley, but they should and see if he’d do a phone intervention. What is missing here is hearing from Huffer and getting a reaction out of him. He seems to be just blocking everybody on Facebook right now. Guess that’s his strategy.

I can see if the Purple Heart were a valor award and you felt someone deserved it more than you. However, if someone received wounds comparable to yours you both should rate an award unless there were different circumstances.
Keep in mind, we are talking about fictional combat here in the case of Huffer the Puffer. So, he turned down an imaginary Purple Heart because he felt it should have went to his imaginary comrade that suffered more fictitious wounds than he did.
In some deep, role-playing, day dreaming aspect of my mind I find this utterly noble.
I wish that Call of Duty had a way to transfer credits over to a friend on the battlefield. It sounds like a similar concept so Huffer may be on to something.

I was a 1345 in the Marine Corps, which is a fancy way of saying I was trained in construction equipment. I have a lot of respect for Seabees. Every one that I’d met was a good person and damn good at their job.
And they worked their asses off, more so than any other type of unit I ever saw.

When I was out processing the army one showed up on my 214 with a afghan ribbon, witch no issue with ribbon but I spent more time in Iraq then the other, and I refused To sign it after a half hour of arguing it was fixed.
Then a few months later someone from a congressmans office called about it and my old unit for a ceremony for a few of us. And all I could tell them was not me leave me alone and go to hell. It worked for me and I know of one SFC in my old CAV unit that turned one down, now as far as his 214 I don’t know he did turn down a ARCOM /V but accepted a BS with no V
I ended up with a ICM and a GWOT/E and I’m happy with this too sent them with my 214 to a group that runs a data base. And a copy at the court house here in Arizona and Nevada
The later was awarded because I had one trip in Afghanistan four to Kuwait and three to Iraq since 2007-09 before April 2009 trip to da sand box. with two other units all be it short stays and I still think Kuwait SUCKS !!!!!!

SeaBee Chief- Having read the entire string of messages, there is no way that was some set-up by an ex-wife, even if “she’s” a dude and a SeaBee. It is somewhat out of context, as the identity of who he was trying to impress is obscured. A Seabee does not call a Hall way a P-WAY. The DD 214 is not correct he was discharged from reserves in 2015. The reason it is the way it is up there is he had just finished A-SCHOOL and transferring to Reserves. I just want to know I was ok to post it to our community. Did they call him or just do it over the key board. There is a lot of flake don’t get me wrong he is getting his ass handed to him. There is a lot of Navy speak up there not Seabee speak we don’t talk like that.

The DD-214 is correct. It only reflect active duty time. One does not get a DD-214 upon termination/retirement from the Reserves. His rank of E-3 was current when the DD-214 was printed up. There are photos of him with an E-4 third class crow on his uniform, but that is the highest that I see. Certainly impossible to make E-6 from being an E-3 in 2013, no matter if he was in the Reserves or regular Navy. That is BS.
You’re on the right track. He misrepresented his service, especially the SEAL claim, Navy Cross and Purple Hearts – that’s stolen valor if he used that for gain.

Ya, Good job on the Bug it ain’t essay. Who was the CO back then. Gregory was CO in Iraq then and I don’t know who had the 30th. I was in NMCB 4 for Iraq invasion and Fallujah 2004-05 and 30th was in charge there it seams like they have always been doing that shit.

I can’t recall the Admiral, but he remarked that they were one of his ‘secret weapons’ that helped to win the war.
If the japs had a chance to take out an entire UDT or an entire Construction Battalion during WW2, they’d have gone for the SeaBees every time. Every task they performed had a major, lasting strategic impact.

The more likely scenario is this from looking at his timeline: * A while back he claims he works at a concrete business + the US Navy * He often posts about sleeping in, feeling lazy, depressed, etc. Unless these were weekend posts he may not be working or may not be working full time. * If what others say is true, he was booted from the Naval Reserve and lost income from that * He seems to place high value on spending time with his son, but I wonder if the loss of income affects that in any way. i.e. must maintain a certain income to retain custody or visitation * If he lost his Naval Reserve drilling status and loss of income, it is plausible that he must figure out a way to tell people (i.e. the judge?) that he lost it out of a noble effort to donate a kidney and save a little boy’s life vs. he screwed up It sounds to me that he was in the beginning of cooking up a story about the kidney donation and the little boy and who knows, maybe it is true? The answer is simple – because everything will lead back to his doorstep and he will be in even more trouble for giving false statements to Law Enforcement and leading them on a wild goose chase.
Someone should challenge him to put his money where his mouth is and call the police instead of trying to straighten it out himself. Bet he wimps out or comes up with some excuse that makes himself look noble.

Adam Huffer – Independent efforts not associated with the ‘This Ain’t Hell’ blog to reach your ex-wife (i.e. TFH) have been met with success. She is being provided with your post where you accuse her of getting into your Facebook account and posting about you being a Navy SEAL, being awarded a Navy Cross and three Purple Hearts, not to mention the kidney donation. We believe that you publicly posting this represents a libelous statement by you and can be used as concrete evidence in a defamation lawsuit by your ex-wife should she choose to pursue it.
At this point, you have two options that would help your situation:
1) first option is to double-down on your claim that she hacked into your account, call the police and get out in front of this since it will establish that you feel you were violated. The downside to this is if all arrows point back to you then you can be charged with filing a false police report and be responsible financially for any and all time spent on the investigation. When you file a report, let us know what precinct you file with so that we can obtain the official police report.
1) second option is to come clean and stop digging a deeper hole for yourself. You are now involving your family and that’s not good. You will only complicate an already bad situation and create more division and bad feelings in your family if you use them to cover up your lies.
Think carefully on all of this. Pride should not get in the way of you making a good decision. What’s more important to you – making this right with your family and the people that are close to you or trying to keep your reputation from being tarnished with SeaBees and other veterans that you will most likely never interact with anymore in the distant future?
