Tony Magsam, phony Gunnery Sergeant arrested
About two years ago we wrote about Anthony Magsam who was pretending to be a Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant and an Iraq War veteran in Philadelphia. He wore a pretty little motorcycle vest with a Combat Infantryman Badge and a Bronze Star, but the NPRC says that he had no service;
He had been a Philly cop until it was discovered that he stole weapons parts from the police department. He was subsequently fired, but otherwise, unpunished. Hack Stone sends us the news that he was finally arrested yesterday, after about seven years since the theft was discovered.
Anthony Magsam’s arrest on charges of theft, receiving stolen property, and obstruction of administrative law came one week after his former commander, Lt. Vincent J. Testa, committed suicide prior to a scheduled meeting with prosecutors about the case.
Magsam, 35, was released from custody Wednesday following an arraignment. Attempts to reach him for comment late Wednesday were not successful. No lawyer was listed on his initial charging document.
Magsam doesn’t like the picture at the top of this post – he complained to a previous service provider that it was copyrighted so we lost the blog for a day while our lawyers straightened the problem out with the provider. We enjoy this extra ration of karma that he’s catching these days.

You’d think that someone who’d apparently managed to skate on multiple felonies would refrain from attracting attention to himself. That’s especially true for a former dirty cop, who would presumably know the potential consequences of getting prosecuted.
Then again, no one ever accused most thieves of being smart.

Apparently he had some relatives high up in the Philadelphia Police Department, so he assumed that made him bullet proof. You know what they say if you assume….

Pedophiles deserve every thumping they receive in prison. And then some. They are the scum of the earth.
Maybe they will. Once you leave the PD under less than stellar conditions some places don’t even take that into consideration. Especially if you’ve been gone a while.
Unless he pisses off the guards. Then, as you pointed out, he better hope they keep the doors locked.
Many times, “administrative errors” occur, and someone who’s supposed to be in segregation mysteriously ends up in general population.
I always liked the Marine version of the CIB better. Those fuckers were hard to get.
That’s right. It’s a little known fact that very few of those rare Marine CIBs have ever been awarded, and so far they have only been given to the members of that highly-classified, black ops, ultra-covert assassination unit that can’t be named that was cleverly stationed behind the row of dumpsters outside of the chow hall at Camp Johnson over there by Camp Lejeune.
You know the unit that I mean. You know; it’s that stealthy USMC SPECOPS unit that recruits its members directly off of the yellow footprints outside of Receiving Barracks at Parris Island, after each individual has been previously hand-picked by the Commandant based on their inherent, and obvious, lethal bad-assery. And they go straight to the unit and begin combat operations without any additional training, too. It’s hard to believe, but it’s true.
I’ve met a couple of the guys that were in that unit; they were some really bad dudes, let me tell you. And they all had “The Stare”.
But, they all ended up getting out because they’d “been in the shit too long”, and they “just got tired of the killin'”. They have all been afflicted with a devastating case of the PTSD as well. It’s very sad.

I was down a little yesterday, PH2, so went to a gun shop and basked in the 2nd Amendment. Then I fired off a couple hundred rounds. Better than Prozac. Mrs. HMC fired off a bunch, too. Couple Range Time … I highly recommend it.

My daughter has always been fun to go shooting with. Trouble is, she can put a whoopin on the old man now. I got her on the tricky shit, though.Like keeping a tin can moving through 10 rounds with the .45. Fun.
It’s slow but cheap… get a black powder revolver and learn to shoot it. About as much fun as you can have at the range with your clothes on. Nothing like the smell of ‘the black’!

Black Powder Rifles are fun to shoot as well. One day I had a wild hair up my ass while at the range and put about 220 grains of FFg powder in the barrel sans a bullet and it sounded like a cannon firing! I’ve done the same with blank rounds at reenactments.
I like lever actions for having fun.
Nothing like flipping the lever and letting them fly. More work than just taking the semi-autos but that’s part of the fun.

At this point, I’ll bet against. I don’t think he’s got the guts to do it. However, if he’s released while awaiting sentencing if/when he’s been convicted and is awaiting sentencing might be a different story. I also don’t really think he’s got the guts to do the time, either.

My father’s Meddling siblings interfering between a father and daughter relationship and poised by propaganda my father against the guardian advocate and me the only child by using his handicap of dementia and that is elderly abuse.

The will didn’t stipulate that one of the siblings should be that individual care taker if or becomes sick. I just love how they make it up as it goes for their best entrust but not for the injured individuals. By so the sister whose a retired cop never took my father to get his B12 shot injection and would rather have my dad living out of a motel then to be with his only child and grandchildren. Ive showed more proof of a six month radius of making better proof of changing my father lifestyle toward healthier eating habits, Herbalife, and daily exercise and church once a week on Sunday. Taking him to his doctor’s and getting the help he needs and deserves.
