UK Commander: Putting women on the front line is dangerous PC meddling. We will pay for it in blood

| April 6, 2016

Colonel Richard Kemp, a former commander of British troops in Afghanistan took to the pages of the UK’s Telegraph to warn about the plan to put females in the frontlines of that nation’s wars. He seems to have picked up some of thoughts expressed here;

The people who have demanded this change – politicians desperate to be seen as “progressive”, feminist zealots and ideologues hell-bent on equality of opportunity without exception – would never dream of volunteering. Indeed only a very small number of women will want to join the infantry and of those only a fraction will have the physical capability. Hence the need to lower the bar.

[…]

The damage will be budgetary as well as tactical. Even in the tranquillity of a peacetime barracks, three RAF women sustained spinal and pelvic injuries due to over-striding to keep pace with the men on parade.

They were awarded £100,000 each. The RAF’s remedy was to shorten stride-length and place women at the front of the squad to set a reduced pace for the men – an ominous indication of things to come for the infantry.

Since the Ellen Harings and Ray Mabus of the world are the ones who want to inflict this plan on our fighting men and women, the folks who will bear the burden and bleed for the social justice warriors’ rhetoric, maybe we should put the SJWs in the front ranks and they can lead the way for us and show us how it’s done – because they’re certainly not listening to the experts.

I notice, “Colonel Richard Kemp, a FORMER commander of British troops”.
Yep. He can safely say these non-PC things without fear for his job or command. Too bad the Orificers still in command don’t/can’t speak up the same.

Colonel Kemp commanded in Afghanistan in 2003. Since he didn’t make General, if the British Army is anything like ours that means he probably retired not long afterwards.

I don’t think the Brits started trying to integrate women into their “frontline” troops until after he retired.

Indeed, but it won’t be the blood of any of the beautiful people…your blood or the blood of your children is of no consequence to these people. They pay lip service and not much more to their admiration of the troops, but what happens to the troops doesn’t affect their lives in fashion whatsoever.

That’s why they can be as cavalier as they wish when deciding to implement programs of this nature. Once upon a time leaders were on the field of battle and the choices they made for their armies often meant life and death for the leader as well as the troops. There’s no danger of any PC warrior getting killed on the field of battle, so whatever happens to the infantry is whatever happens.

Of course the more cynical side of my brain states that a boatload of dead bodies is exactly the outcome they want. Lots of dead men and women makes for great headlines and allows the appeasers to do what they do best, waffle away our security.

You might have a point, VOV, and it can be argued that appeasement as policy is a form of institutionalized cowardice. For example, one of the passive-aggressive sound bites the mainstream media trots out with some regularity is the current “I shouldn’t have to be afraid” meme. In this instance, anger and rage are not an acceptable response, no matter what the provocation.

According to a lot of current media, apparently, if Wall Street greed trashes the financial markets, the nanny-approved response is not to want to string a bunch of financiers from a lamp post, it’s instead to be afraid of losing your house or job.

If history is any indicator, it’s probably also true that appeasement often only works in the shorter term because the demands needing to be appeased tend to escalate instead of stopping. Poland in 1939 is probably one of the better examples of this.

Indeed.

And that is called paying the Dane-geld;
But we’ve proved it again and again,
That if once you have paid him the Dane-geld
You never get rid of the Dane.

I am not sure if “beautiful” is the right word….

Bernie is apparently going to appropriate and redistribute good looks.

It doesn’t really matter what the UK or their people say about this kind of thing, we don’t like them anymore.

We’re friends with Iran and Cuba these days.

Let’s not forget about the guy ‘running’ this joint licking Medvedev’s finger begging for ‘space’.

My how we’ve fallen…

Damn it COL Kemp! Your using common sense and that just doesn’t figure into the SJW game plan.

BUT, common sense is probably why you are a “former commander”.
