MRFF assaults common sense
The latest tactic of the terrorists at the ironically named Military Religious Freedom Foundation and their mullah, Michael “Mikey” Weinstein, is to attack various VA POW displays around the country for displaying a Bible with the empty place setting representing our missing service members and prisoners of war. Of course, every time a VA facility capitulates to the specious claims that the displays violate the First Amendment, it only encourages the terrorists. From Fox News;
Weinstein’s declares that the Bible’s inclusion on the remembrance table is a “loathsome message” and a “disgustingly bigoted statement” that is “an absolute disgrace and unbridled slap-in-the-face to all of the men and women in uniform.” He claims that the symbol of faith will “eviscerate good order, morale, unit cohesion and discipline” in our military.
Only someone with a burning animus toward this traditional symbol of comfort and faith could make such wild, hurtful, and unfounded claims.
It would be laughable—except that the U.S. military has too often capitulated to bullies like Weinstein. He successfully harassed Patrick Air Force Base into suspending use of the traditional remembrance table decoration, just as he attempted to intimidate the Pentagon to curtail certain National Day of Prayer activities.
I’d change that second paragraph to begin “Only someone with a burning anus….”
The First Amendment reads “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof….” Congress hasn’t made a law establishing a religion, and if anyone is prohibiting the free exercise of religion, it’s the misnamed Military Religious Freedom Foundation. The Fox News article quotes from a couple of POWs how important their faith was to them while they suffered. For Mikey and his minions to disregard those simple truths as a testament to human endurance is just disrespectful to all soldiers, sailors, Marines and airmen who may some day find themselves in those unfortunate circumstances.

Really? Wonder where he gets the stats to support that claim? How much anger and hatred must one have in their heart to attempt to deny the display of a Bible? I’m thinking a great deal. Wonder what he would say if a Koran were displayed? Yeah, me too.
Mikey “Whiney” Whinestein was a whiney ass maggot as a cadet, but he has taken it to a whole new level! He claims USAFA tried to religiously indoctrinate him back in the ’70s (he’s class of ’77, unfortunately) and that it hasn’t stopped. If it was sooo freaking bad, then when did he let his boys go there in the 2000s? Doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, but then again, Whiney never did!

My only inclusion would be to make sure of the religious beliefs of the person being so honored, and try to place the representation that is most accurate for that individual. That’s only common sense, and I’m sure the person recognized wouldn’t make as much of a fuss about it as the people putting together the remembrance. If it is for several POWs/MIAs, then perhaps the representation that would offer the most comfort to those in attendance…but this thin skinned, whining business really needs to stop. All it is, is an attempt to shift the focus to some attention-whore.
As a dedicated non-believer this assclown’s continued displays of stupidity are offensive to me…who do I see about that?
A display doesn’t bother me, those who find solace in the image or presence of the bible as a remembrance should have that option as they do the cross, star of david or star and crescent or buddha or whatever…if it eases the pain of their loss a loss suffered on behalf of this great nation it does me no harm whatsoever to have these items a part of the symbology used.
Compelling to me to place that display on my property would be a problem.
However in this display I don’t see the government establishing a religion.
I believe the government is simply stating the obvious…in a nation where somewhere north of 7 out of 10 people identify as christians the likelihood that a solder who’s missing is a christian is probably spot on….
I can travel beyond the pale at times when discussing my opinions regarding religion, but for something like this where someone who has sacrificed so much for the nation is being honored there’s no question I am in support of this.
Not that anyone needs or desires my support, just stating my thoughts.

By way of diabolical outside-the-box thinking, it kinda makes you wonder if Mikey Weinstein and Ellen Haring can be weaponized. Drop those two into Syria, and they could probably talk ISIS into a coma…

Lars has posted two posts since I asked him to deny he was conducting research on this blog. Neither which denied he was. I really don’t care one way or another but for a couple of reasons. He intentionally twisted up a couple of guys and some of us just don’t handle that so well anymore. The other is it’s absolutely against the most basic principle of our military ethos to manipulate a fellow service member for personal gain. But that’s just the way I see it.
Just look at his statements, it’s almost like he has a grudge against anyone that is against him. He’s a bitter little man with anger issues who acts like the Army/Military has “done him wrong” while he served.
He’s struck me as a guy that would Blue Falcon anyone to get ahead in his career. He should stay in his little “safe space” called Bezerkley, because he has no clue what “the real world” is like.
If you really want to know how twisted Lars is spend some time reading his timeline on his FB page. All it’s going to do is confirm everything you just said, but some of it is really out there.

Since one must declared which faith or religion they have so they know which Chaplain to contact when that person passes away or not, it seems to me that if they declared they were Christian and a Bible is placed on the table, it does not violate anything other than that person’s personal believes which is infringement upon his or her First Amendment rights. Finally, when is Mikey going to die and NOT go to Heaven since obviously he is an Atheist.
