Gun control and the Colorado Springs shooting
Before the casings were cold from the rifle in Colorado that the deranged murderer used to kill three people and injure a dozen more, the president was calling for more gun control, according to Politico;
“This is not normal. We can’t let it become normal. If we truly care about this — if we’re going to offer up our thoughts and prayers again, for God knows how many times, with a truly clean conscience — then we have to do something about the easy accessibility of weapons of war on our streets to people who have no business wielding them. Period. Enough is enough.”
The Washington Post sent reporters to Colorado and North Carolina to search for the reason that would make the nutty fellow snap in Colorado Springs. The worst things that they could find was reports to police about him abusing animals and peeping on his neighbor’s wife. His own wife who lived with him in his little shack in the woods in North Carolina, once reported to the police that he had abused her in 1997, but she didn’t file charges against him. People who lived near him described him as “reclusive”, you know like millions of other Americans. Not much of a crime, and there is no question on the ATF Form 4473, the Firearm Transfer Record, that asks if the new owner is “reclusive”. When the FBI does the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) check, they don’t look for “reclusive” Americans.
The Post’s article also quotes his neighbors calling the nameless gunman a complainer about nearly everything. He also told neighbors that he was a Federal agent, that he “knew the secrets” about the government. He was a crank – again, no law related to cranks buying firearms.
What is not in the Post article is that the gunman was registered in Colorado to vote, that he is a female and that his party was listed as “unaffiliated”. So, I guess we should restrict gun ownership to people who declare their membership in a political party.
According to unnamed police sources, NBC News says that the gunman mentioned something about “no more baby parts” when he was arrested. So, should there be an “abortion litmus test” for gun ownership?
Have you heard about the Bunny Friend Park shooting in New Orleans last week? Seventeen people were shot at a block party there by a lone gunman;
Court records show that [gun man’s name], 32, once had criminal ties to [another gun man’s name], the leader of the 7th Ward “Frenchmen and Derbigny” gang. [gun man]’s younger brothers opened fire on a Mother’s Day second-line parade in 2013, injuring 20 — but, just as in this week’s melee, killing no one.
[Gun man] and [another gun man] were co-defendants in a 2002 cocaine and heroin possession case in which both men pleaded guilty, records show.
No one was killed, but the facts of the case are similar to the Colorado, shootings;
Witnesses saw a man with a silver-colored machine gun flee toward Louisa Street. Gunfire continued in the park after he left.
I’m sure it wasn’t a machine gun, but rather scary-looking gun with things like a flash suppressor and a pistol grip. The shooting in New Orleans is thought to be gang-related. The reports from Colorado Springs are that the gunman there used an AK-47 rifle, but who knows, given the habit of the media to call every weapon an AK-47 these days. But the Bunny friend Park shooting barely made a “blip” in the news cycle despite the number of casualties. Probably because the media didn’t think that it was newsworthy that another black man shot a bunch of black people at a block party, whereas, a white guy shooting up an abortion clinic is more newsworthy and it demonstrates how there is some sort of right-wing terrorism in this country that everyone ignores. All the while they ignore the terrorism on the streets of urban communities.
The President didn’t call for disarming American criminals when the Bunny Friend Park shooting happened, but he will step up to call for the disarming of law abiding Americans because of the Colorado Springs shooting.
So, the only thing that we can do, since authorities are unable to make the NICS checks work is to take away the guns of millions of law-abiding, reclusive, pro-Life, politically unaffiliated Americans who didn’t shoot anyone on Friday.
The president complains that there is “easy access” to firearms – from a guy who has never been through the process of legally buying a gun which really isn’t all that easy. No one has told us yet how the gunmen in Colorado and New Orleans got their firearms, but let’s politicize the process (which we’ve known was broken at least since the South Carolina shooting, but we’ve done nothing to fix). You know, the government should really repair the process that has been in place and has failed Americans for 22 years, before they start taking guns from those of us who abide by the law. But it’s much easier to demonize the gun than it is to demonize the criminals who used them – and that’s what the president meant when he said “enough is enough” – he wants to ban your scary-looking semi-automatic rifle, merely because it’s scary-looking, to make sure that you law abiding Americans continue to obey his laws.

Tone deaf Barry strikes again.
He won’t get rid of 20 million illegals, but he’ll confiscate 300 million weapons from 80 million legal gun owners if given the chance, leaving only the gang bangers, terrorists, and all-around shitbags armed.
In other news, my scary black guns killed nobody yesterday. Kinda hard to do when they’re all at the bottom of the lake. Tragic.
Progressive/marxist/commie bastards cannot relate to gang shootings or the thousands of inner-city murders and shootings that have occurred thus far this year. There is no outrage that 300+ homicides have occurred in Baltimore alone in 2015 or the 460+ killings and the 2300+ shootings in gun-control central: Chicago. Oh, there is lip service paid to the violence, but the truth is that middle-class America isn’t threatened by those things. In fact, if a suburbanite is shot in the inner city, he is blamed for being where he should not have been, isn’t he? What’s more, votes—and this is about votes and the furtherance of a gun-grabber agenda—are not generated by promises to end gang or inner-city violence. No, the votes, the support, the donations come when liberal upper and middle-class America are threatened, such as when some nut shoots some people at an abortion clinic. That is an attack against the liberal pogrom which cannot be tolerated. The thousands of inner-city murders? Just a very, very late term abortion, in a sense.
You’d think that B. Hussein 0bama & Company want to disarm everyone but the criminals after Fast & Furious and here we go again when the assailant is White and attacking an abortion mill. The word “Bunny” gets mentioned in the article, is someone trying to conjure “Bunny-fart” Coldiron?
Well, let’s see.
I’m reclusive. (Still waiting for gas prices to drop to 2001 levels.)
I’m sure I complain a lot, but my cat usually just gets up and walks away from me when I do.
I’m registered to vote.
I am ‘unaffiliated’, whatever that means.
Yeah, I must be a complete whack job.
You also identify as a woman.
So, you got that going for you, which is nice.
I must be a real nut case. Disabled veteran, 26+ years in the military, VA Volunteer working directly with our hospitalized veterans, and I own a gun.
Throw a net over me!
Save another net for me. No matter what I bitch about, the cats, dogs, and even my wife ignore me. If I don’t start getting more attention, I’m just going to pull a Lars on all of them and keep my mouth shut. Now I do belong to a gang. Three cats and two dogs; looking for a bunni to join us. We are a terror on this property. We like to bully moles and snakes. The dogs are fully armed with big teeth, the cats are always sharpening their claws for battle, and hopefully the bunni that joins up will have some rodeo experience so it can ride the moles before the cats torture them to death. Before I forget, one of the dogs occasionally brags that he was once a police dog, but I have my doubts. As for abuse, guilty as charged. Every so often the dogs act up and I make them sit in their cage for a big part of the day. After a while they beg to be released. No go until after they have confessed their doggie sins. Strange….surely not. Doesn’t everybody have a confessional booth beside their dog kennel?
“I’m just going to pull a Lars on all of them and promise to keep my mouth shut but I never, ever, erver will” – fixed it for ya.
Having crazies roaming among us has been “normal” for a few decades now. It’s not particularly healthy for them or the rest of us, but it certainly is “normal.”
Crazy people need supervision. Pretending that handing them a couple of jars of medicine with an expectation that they will take the drugs as prescribed is lunacy. How is anyone to know if the drugs even do what they should without medical supervision?
Folks who expect crazy people to act anything other than crazy are even crazier than the crazies.
“Pretending that handing them a couple of jars of medicine with an expectation that they will take the drugs as prescribed is lunacy.”
You are so right! I particularly like probation conditions requiring psychotics to take medicines as prescribed. Yeah, the psycho is really going to be motivated to take his meds rather than risk another round in jail. Bridge. Brooklyn. Must sell. Cheap.

Standard answer from the chump-in-chief. It’s the only answer that the anti-gunners have. “More extensive background checks” is what they say. Ok; how? They don’t give you that answer, because they never think past the bumper sticker platitude. Just like the alleged “gun show loophole”. Ask any anti-gunner that spouts that bullshit what that means and most of them don’t have a fucking clue, but it sounds good. Ignorant dumbasses.
Then, when you try and lump all muslims in with the jihadis, the same dumbasses say “don’t lump all muslims in with a few”, yet they are too stupid to understand that that is exactly what they do to gun owners, or christians.
Fucking ignorant hypocrites.
Another thing the media is not mentioning: why did this murderer guy move from North Carolina out to Colorado?
Answer: legal marijuana.
Way to go Colorado… attracting all the good migrants.
My guess is in his defense he will blame his move on the FLAG. What else?
President Obama mentions “the easy accessibility of weapons of war on our streets to people who have no business wielding them”. Is he referring to the Middle American Christians clinging to their guns and bibles, or Middle East “freedom fighter” clinging to their suicide vests and Korans? Are there background checks on the recipients of the weapons that Hillary was shipping to Libya?
Okay……here’s a basic question.
How many criminals that are involved in the various shootings we read about on a daily basis have filled out ATF Federal Form #4473, firearms transaction?
Need I answer my own question? Probably not.
I imagine a certain someone giving himself fits about now, wanting to visit TAH but fighting with himself not to do so. His comments perfectly reflect the Left’s absence of humor and their taking themselves oh-so seriously. His droll, monotonous drum beat is discordant noise and it is welcome relief not to suffer it, if only for a day. If he does lose the inner battle and visits here, he will not be able to refrain from the crazy condemnation and harebrained generalizations he doles out. So, here’s to his absence. May he stay the hell away.
@2/17 Air Cav
Your comment has exceeded any expectations that I or “the one” could ever have anticipated!! Good one!
I am convinced he role plays with his stuffed animals until his compulsion to enlighten us overwhelmsome him.
I’m convinced that he finds women he can mooch off of to get food and sleeping space, and pays for nothing himself.
You know: sharing. Stuff like that.
217 A C….Great point! As a matter of fact, when I read your post about the LEFT, it occurred to me the first and last letters of his name are directly from and in line with the word. O. D. on turkey? We can only hope a turkey could O. D. on turkey.
The One didn’t make a speech, thump his chest, or provoke lamentations from their women; he issued a written statement. Methinks that investment is a measure of his commitment to the topic.
Gets mad at rifles. Doesn’t get mad at baby killing organizations caught on camera being ghouls and breaking the law.
The Obama America.
PP, of course, is blaming right-wing rhetoric for the shooting because we talked about PP selling used baby parts.
I saw that clip of a PP rep claiming that “there’s a lot of hate speech in this country going around right now, causing this kind of action” and I almost lost my fucking mind.
Who let that vacuous cunt on tv?!?
“Enough is enough.”
Uh-oh…watch out everyone! We got a badass in charge!
Dear leader Brock Zero is so serial this time…
Why someone commits a crime is the stuff mainly of TV drama. It’s called motive and is frequently confused with intent. The two are altogether different, with intent being an element of crime to be proved by a prosecutor. Intent can, and frequently is, inferred from the a defendant’s wrongful act or omission. Motive, on the other hand, goes to the reason why the defendant took the action he did or failed to do so. In this abortion clinic matter, the media are all over why the nut chose to be in Colorado and chose to shoot people in that facility. Some official with Planned Parenthood quickly announced that the nut was an anti-abortionist and, as Jonn points out, blames right-wing rhetoric. I can guess why she said so. So can you. It is to use this incident to quash speech, specifically anti-abortion speech. Our own absent Leftist has the same approach to dissent. In any event, it doesn’t much. It might be a useful opportunity borne of crisis, but it really won’t matter in court.
“In any event, it doesn’t much.” It doesn’t much what? It doesn’t much matter.
You’re tired. Go put your feet up.
The idea that Planned Parenthood is a non-profit group is balderdash. They charge fees for everything, especially if you do not have health insurance or are underinsured.
https://www.plannedparenthood.org/
They do charge fees for referrals. None of their services are free. They provide foetal tissue to laboratories and get paid for that. When I look at their website, the most common services they offer are aimed at eliminating a pregnancy, not supporting pregnant women, which means that if you can’t afford prenatal care, they are going to lean toward telling you to abort.
This should be a choice. No one should be forced into that psychological corner. They are extremely aggressive about it. If you’re late and you think you’re pregnant, they don’t offer prenatal services, despite what they say. They refer you to an ob/gyn and charge for the referral. And if you find that you weren’t pregnant, after all, but have a different problem, they turn their backs on you.
That is MY personal experience.
They claim to be non-profit to get government funding, but everything they do is aimed entirely at increasing their cash flow and that includes charging poor women for what should be free. They are callous, uncaring and uninterested in real counseling or finding real help, unless they can get money out of you.
I think they are the most despicable bunch of greedy sows on the planet and I deeply object to their getting one cent of tax money, period.
Really would LOVE to explain the ins and outs of non-profits. Sure, the name sounds good, but often that’s the end of “good”. Would someone whose wife does not work at a hospital, and knows the possibility of losing a job, educate the many unaware? CEO’s at a hospital earning a base pay of 500k for starters, never-ending purchase of more and more property, all in the name of a non-profit. Non-profit does not mean the big boys don’t get filthy rich.
“We (heart) Planned Parenthood” and “Keep Planned Parenthood safe” read posters that appeared on light poles after the shootings, according to the Denver Post. Actually, according to the paper, the signs “hugged lightpoles.” I would love to learn just how those posters came to be made and posted. I somehow doubt they were the work of someone unassociated with Planned Parenthood. In fact, I suspect that Planned Parenthood employees or operatives are responsible for the posters. Let no crisis go to waste.
One thing no one is talking about is in my question: How many PP employees or patients were killed or injured? Answer: None. We don’t even know if PP was the intended target. PP, President Dumbass, the media, Colonel Sanders, etc. all think that PP was the target, yet not even the police know what the target was. The only thing they have to go on is something he supposedly said, that “witnesses” overheard him say.
“It was a ‘”crime against women receiving health care services,”’ said Attorney General Loretta Lynch. She pledged the full resources of her office to investigate. Vicki Cowart, president of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, went beyond an inference, saying the shooter ‘”was motivated by opposition to safe and legal abortion.”’ (Source: CNN online) Meanwhile, the local police say that it is far too early to conclude motive.
A crime against women receiving health care services? And that from the Attorney General? Is she joking? Not only that but, at this point, there is no federal issue. There may be, but until there is, she should shut the hell up and stop with the irresponsible, pandering commentary. This is all a game to these people, isn’t it?
“It was a ”crime against women receiving health care services,”
That makes it sound like PP only provides health services to women.
How can this be (?), in an age where a barber shop is fined for only cutting mens hair.
Uh oh.
It’s not going to matter how many law abiding gun owners there are. All that will matter, in the end, is the one gun-holder who fires the shots that lead to the repeal of the Second Amendment. And it is coming. Count on it.
It won’t take repeal, PN. That really isn’t going to happen. What is likely is that a Supreme Court (not the current one unless two justices are replaced by Scrotum Shaver) will reinterpret the language of the 2nd Amendment to give the government the power to ban private ownership of firearms. The ban will not occur quickly but incrementally.
I had to think about it for a bit, but I think you’re right on the mark. An attempt to repeal the 2A would probably start another civil war. The incremental approach, particularly if the progressives are all lock-stepping with it, will leave the pro-gunners without weapons, ammo, a place to train, or even a place to keep a weapon (it’s become the fashion in some areas with rental property to add ‘no weapons’ to the ‘no smoking’ and ‘no pets’ prohibitions. Basically, the pro-gunners will find themselves without any support at all.
Not sure any “no weapons” requirement will survive a court challenge if/when someone files one, PN.
2nd Amendment right of private firearms ownership is now a fundamental Constitutional right demanding strict scrutiny – just like 1st Amendment rights and one’s civil rights. “Color-line” restrictive covenants for both sale and rental were ruled invalid by the courts because they were a violation of civil rights. Seems to me a “no weapons” ban would run afoul of the same issue, since it is a recognized individual right today on part with all other Constitutional rights.
Hypothetically, a ban could happen, but is unlikely. Statistically, if there was a hunting weekend in which nearly 2 million people went hunting over Thanksgiving and bagged enough game to validate their ownership, but no one was killed by hunters during that weekend, then the argument about guns v. incompetent shooters is moot.
However, you are all forgetting one little thing: we have not had an actually armed attack on American soil since the Brits tried to take back their unwilling citizens in what? 1812?
Setting aside Pearl Harbor, the 2001 hijackers, and the WTC and Oklahoma City bombings, it really hasn’t happened. The Civil War was an internal event.
So if we were actually attacked, my view is that people would be more likely to demand gun ownership for home defense (if nothing else) than want it forbidden. And if a group of idjits already here decided to engage in a mass attack of some kind, the police would be barely effective. It would require the use of US military. If you think local citizens wouldn’t participate whether the Lord High Poobahs liked it or not, you’re mistaken.
IF the mass attack occurs in Boston, NYC, San Francisco or other progressive bastions of tolerance it will be “Shelter in place while we totally ignore the 4th Amendment and ransack your house.” But it’s totally voluntary. Until it isn’t.
“However, you are all forgetting one little thing: we have not had an actually armed attack on American soil since the Brits tried to take back their unwilling citizens in what? 1812?”
You forgot about Attu and Kiska in 1942. If memory serves me correctly, the Army enlisted the help of armed Alaskan civilians in taking back those islands.
I just looked it up. The civilians were called Castner’s Cutthroats.

Quote from Bronco Bama while in Paris for the UN climate summit: Referring to last week’s murderous rampage at a Colorado Planned Parenthood, he opined, “Obviously, my heart goes out to the families of those impacted. I mean, I say this every time we’ve got one of these mass shootings: This just doesn’t happen in other countries.”
How is it even possible for someone to be such a complete idiot?
