Quentin Tarantino – phony jailbird

A few weeks ago, the NYPD and the LAPD called for Americans to boycott Quentin Tarantino and his films for his cop-hating remarks at an anti-police gathering in New York City last month. Looking at his filmography, I’m way ahead of the curve. I’ve started to watch some of his movies, but I found something more productive in engage myself with soon after I started watching – the Tarantino archives is pretty much crap, in my opinion. But, anyway, at the rally he said;
“I’m a human being with a conscience,” Tarantino said at the rally. “And when I see murder I cannot stand by. And I have to call the murdered the murdered and I have to call the murderers the murderers.”
With a new film coming out this month, Tarantino has back-tracked on his comments, but today, we hear how he has been pumping up his creds for the last few decades by telling folks that he was afraid of the cops in LA because they were constantly tossing him in jail for traffic infractions. Well the New York Post says that the LA County police deny that he has ever spent a day in their jails;
“A check of Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department jail records revealed no evidence that Mr. Tarantino was ever incarcerated in our jail system,” said Capt. Christopher Reed of the Sheriff’s Office.
Tarantino used to tell the story as evidence of his outlaw bona fides. But on a recent episode of “Real Time with Bill Maher,” Tarantino, now 52, recounted it again to claim solidarity with police protesters — that he understands what it means to be frightened of cops.
“Back when I was in my 20s and broke, I was a little scared of the cops, all right?” Tarantino told Maher. “And oftentimes, I had warrants out on me for traffic stuff that I never took care of and everything .?.?. I’d get stopped, and I’d have to do eight days in county jail.”
Even his stories are weak. The closest he came to jail was in 2000 when he was busted for driving without a license and he paid a fine of $871, including court costs, in lieu of eight days of jail time.
Category: Dumbass Bullshit
Maybe he self-identifies as a criminal.
Drop his ass in the LA County Jail for a weekend… Thor, Bubba, Julio and Mr. Tiny would love to get their hands on some rich white guy for a few hours… and Tarantino would definitely come out a “changed” man.
I’d boycott him if I knew who he was.
So you don’t recognize one of the most popular directors in history? You’ve never seen Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, or Inglourious Basterds? Got it. Look, just because someone says or does something stupid in Hollywood (and that can be almost daily) doesn’t mean you have to troll with the “I don’t know who he is” nonsense.
And none of those movies had Treat Williams, Eric Roberts or Casper Van Dien.
Weak.
Three of your favorites, I take it? I like a lot of C-listers as well. Williams and Roberts keep on chugging, but it seems Van Dien hasn’t had anything notable since Starship Troopers.
Until this dustup with him running his mouth, I had never heard of him either.
And yeah, I haven’t seen any of those three movies either. I rarely go to the theater, maybe once a year, getting what I want to watch through NetFlix or the television.
As far as I’m concerned, he’s just another no-account attention whore.
Just for the record, I took a look at his portfolio, from acting to directing to producing.
I haven’t seen any of those films and to be honest, I can’t think of a reason to. They sound crass and set-up, typical formulaic film writing. Not for me, thank you.
So for me, he’s eminently forgettable.
Saw part of one of his films, “Pulp Fiction”, and turned it off.
Don’t know why it is so popular, I thought it was crap.
His all-time best film moment was in the “Desperado” trilogy when he wound up dying in the shitter – an appropriate place.
Much cheaper to watch The False Commander Phil Monkress (CEO of All-Points Logistics) working Paul-mer (of the ballsack’s) balls in the alley.
You can bring your own soda and popcorn.
Odd.
But cheap.
APL – Merritt Island style.
He makes shyt movies, he promotes murder and mayhem in his trash movies then stands up there talking this shyt….another freaking moronic liberal hypocrite!
You commit traffic infractions, fail to pay the assessed penalties, (allegedly) get incarcerated because you fail to pay the fines, and “the man” is the bad guy. I remember way back in the day, Tarantino was on The Howard Stern Show, and he went above and beyond defending convicted child molester Roman Polandki. That should give you some idea of his moral compass.
A Hollywierd libby lying? Color me shocked. This one sounds like he hasn’t gotten enough attention lately, or maybe never.
Yawn. Other than Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, all of his movies are crap, and even those two are barely watchable anymore.
FTA could have resulted in jail time? Holy shit, who knew? Maybe if you had paid the damn ticket you wouldn’t have had to worry about it. Better still, if you had your license with you, there never would have been a ticket in the first place!
His films are loaded to the hilt with violence and criminal behavior.
Hmmm…. I see some sort of disconnect there. Does this mean that is false claims of criminality are manifested in his movies? It’s mostly wishful thinking on his part, since he’s about as badass as a dandelion puff.
Even so, ‘Kill Bill’ can be fun when viewed for itself, not as a QT film.
But we need to give him an exception… he’s an “artiste”. Clown was a HS dropout that worked at a movie rental store “talking the talk” when he was “discovered”.
Tarantino is the poster child for Hollywood’s “do as I say, but not as I do mindset”.
His “heroes” are loaded to the hilt with violence and criminal behavior.
Fixed it for you.
That’s really the crux of it, isn’t it?
Clearly, he desires to be down for the snuggle. When does he announce he is 1/16th Black? He’ll never qualify b/c he had, shall we say, mamma issues. According to his mother, Connie Zastoupil, “He wrote me sad Mother’s Day stories. He’d always kill me and tell me how bad he felt about it. It was enough to bring a tear to a mother’s eye.” (From Bio. as quoted from Entertainment Weekly.) Nice. These were his idea of Mother’s Day gifts, killing off his Mom?
“And when I was in ‘Nam…”
He was fun for the 10 seconds he was in Tsukiyaki Western Django, being one of Miike’s only films to be arguably coherent.
Uh… I liked some of his earlier stuff? Kind of? Most of his modern stuff just feels boring and pretentious.
Another publicity-whoring Hollywierder in my book. Fa’ kheem!!
I’ve long ago given up on the idea that people of celebrity should be expected to have a moral compass. Seems to me the real question is whether they, as a group, tend to be better or worse than the population at large.
To go slightly off the Tarantino topic, the other night I was watching a Ken Burns documentary on the architect Frank Lloyd Wright, and although it was obvious Wright was pretty much a dickweed in his personal life, his Pennsylvania house Falling Water, as one example, was spectacular. Should Wright’s dickweediness detract from the worth of the Falling Water design? I don’t think so.
I think it is worthwhile to consider that human beings, generally, are a frustrating mix of good, talent, evil and ineptitude.
For entertainers, the best of them is generally on the screen or stage. I enjoy them for what they’re good for. I do not understand why anybody pays attention to them when they wander outside their area of expertise or talent or value.
Because, for example, the sheeple fawn over Leo DiCaprio’s “caring” for the planet, even as he flies from place to place in a private jet, telling us how we peons need to reduce our carbon footprint.
Back in the day, a website Jonn and I were familiar with was Hollywood Halfwits (now RightNation.) In it was a listing of the Who’s Who of entertainment libidiots and the hypocrisy in which they engaged. Lemme tell ya, it was legion. And they’ve gotten worse in the decade-plus since.
I’m trying to come up with a more demeaning word to describe Tarantino other than, “he’s an asshole.”
Hmmm……………asshole seems to be the best that I can come up with at the moment.
Yeah, he’s a freaking asshole.
How about he is very Bernathian?
At this point, that’s almost a compliment.
I would say “Phildoesque”, but unlike the False Commander Phil Monkress (CEO of All-Points Logistics), he is not stealing money and prestige based on his fake Native American, SEAL and Law Enforcement claims.
Rather he is saying that he has been “kept down” by “the man” in his struggle to do the right thing.
Quentin Tarantino? Never heard of her.
S P O T O N !
fake incarceration? = Stolen dis-honor?
Is he playing at the same “wannabe gangsta” angle of rappers seeking “cred”?
What is next? PTSD from his time “in the joint”?
Sheesh! What a maroon!
Word.
A fake jailbird, tough guy. I bet Ben Carson is digging this.
That being said, I do not mind his movies, per se, but as we have seen time and time again, just because you are good at something must mean you are a great, all-around guy.
Kinda like the 300+ PT dude that was always late to formation and beat his wife. By hey, he’s a 300 guy. Must be squared away, right?
This clown stepped on his crank in his pursuit of self-promotion and is now having to balance the consequences.
I wonder if he ever called the cops when he was getting robbed, harassed or threatened?
This POS will be ticketed often and no officer discretion will be used ever when his name is run.
His 800 dollar ticket will be a small number next time justice come knocking!
Stolen “jail time” valor? Ugh….. what a piece of shit.
Oddly enough this douche is in my small hometown this weekend for a small film another local douche is putting on. The local douche “writer” is a former felon.
Irony.
His movies are more like trainwrecks. No realistic acting or charactors in a Single movie he ever mad.
They are movies you see out of idol curiosity. I never set through any of his movies, at he most I would look up some of the scenes on you tube.
I always thought his films were parodies of the exploitation crime films of the 40s through the late 60s…You know terrible writing and terrible acting about terrible people doing terrible things. It turns out what I thought was comical parody of an idiotic film genre is apparently a serious body of work by a serious artist. The thing is dumbass actors and actresses, and directors, have always said stupid shit, they almost can’t help themselves because without a script most are revealed for the vapid, soulless cretins they are. There are always a few exceptions, QT is not one of them. The difference today of course is that our society worships celebrity at the expense of intellect, we value popularity over substance which is why we have the current lack of discipline and morality throughout our society. I blame my generation for raising a nation of candy ass little twatwaffles who’ve never spent a moment outside without protective head gear. Having said all that, QT has the same right to speak his mind as those officers do. They can choose to boycott and QT can choose to raise money for what he believes is an appropriate cause. I’m getting sick of all these whiny fuckers on both sides crying like little bitches about what the other side does while doing the same dirty shit on their own. Maybe if cops actually got rid of the shitbags in their midst people might have a better opinion of the police. When someone shoots a man 16 times while the five others present do nothing and then it’s kept quiet for over a year, it makes one wonder about the integrity of those surrounding the murderer. He’s a murderer in the eyes of the state because that’s how they’ve charged him as well. So I’m not speaking out of turn here. Additionally, while officer Wilson had a good shoot pretending there isn’t a racial issue with the Ferguson PD even when the state’s own data reveals otherwise is putting one’s head in the sand and hoping shit goes away. We still have a… Read more »
Verification that Hollywood POS really is POS. Film at 11.
Never been impressed with his films. Won’t miss not seeing latest one either.
