FBI warns NYPD about Jon Ritzheimer
You probably remember Jon Ritzeimer, the fellow who sponsored that “Draw Muhammad” contest in Phoenix a few months back and a few of his buddies were arrested afterwards. He also, along with some Oathkeepers, threatened to arrest Debbie Stabenow for treason. Well, now he’s on a road trip to New York and, according to the New York Daily News, the FBI has warned the New York Police Department that he’s on his way to cause trouble there;
The FBI got involved after a Muslim group based near Albany notified the agency that Jon Ritzheimer, 32, of Phoenix had posted a video on Nov. 18 in which he showed a gun, made profane anti-Obama statements and said he was driving cross-country to confront them, sources and a group spokesman said.
Agents were able to talk with him initially, but two days later, when he was in Scranton, Penn., he got angry and cut off communication with them. At that point, the alert, citing a “potential threat to law enforcement,” was issued, sources said.
Ritzheimer, a former Marine, has made threats against Muslims a personal cause. He has organized an armed protest at a Phoenix mosque, threatened to “arrest” all senators who voted for President Obama’s nuclear pact with Iran, and encouraged all Americans to carry rifles in public for protection against terrorists.
Well, his video is at the link. It was here, but I removed it because it auto-starts.
Back in September, I was curious about his claim that he’s a Marine, so we filed a FOIA for him. For some reason, the National Personnel Records Center wouldn’t give us the whole thing.
But from what I got, I can tell that he served from March 2003 to April 2014 in the Marine Corps Reserve. In October 2013, he was placed in the Individual Ready Reserve. In 2003, he went through basic training and upon graduation, he went to the School of Infantry on May 28 but he was in truck driver school in Fort Leonard Wood, MO less than a month later, so I guess he didn’t make it through SOI. He had three year-long periods of active service, so I’m guessing that he deployed to Iraq for those; Jan. 2005 – Jan. 2006, July 2006 – May 2007, Dec. 2007 – Jan. 2009.
He got a letter of commendation for at least one tour;
Here are his assignments. Maybe you’ll see something I missed;
The bottom line is that, yes, he was a Marine Reservist, and it looks like he had some time in combat as a truck driver (a tough and dangerous job in Iraq). He may have some issues related to his service, but folks with PTS don’t threaten the lives of people (except, maybe, themselves), so what he’s doing these days isn’t necessarily related to his military service. I’m not sure what he thinks that he’ll accomplish on this cross-country jihad of his, but it’s probably not a good idea to take a firearm to New York City.
Thanks to Eggs for the link.

Maybe he’s testing his GPS skills?
I wouldn’t be surprised if he turned back around and headed back to AZ. Just bluffing and trying to make himself look like a badass.
The stint at the School of Infantry (SOI) would have been for Marine Combat Training (MCT). Every Marine (since 1989 for men, 1997 for women) goes through MCT following boot camp, prior to going on to their MOS school, regardless of their intended MOS; truck driver, aircraft mechanic, administrator… Everyone. The only exception are Infantry; they get the full SOI treatment.
Yep, was gonna say what Top Goz said, SOI Trains ALL Male Marines in basic infrantry skills between Boot Camp and MOS Schools.
MCT is rthat track. SOI is for full on grunts and lasrs much longer.
As much as I think CAIR and their ilk should take what they dish out, this guy is still a dumbass.
Reservist, deployed, so fucking what.
Guy is still a weapons grade stupid jackwagon, and his story will likely not have a happy ending. Here’s hoping it ends before he fucks up someone else’s day.
Definitely weapons grade stupid, I hope they find some reason to take him in before he does something really stupid and hurts others worse than he does himself!
He’s on a roadtrip just to make trouble.
Okay, along the way he is likely to run into people who have low or no tolerance for his ridiculous shenanigans. Most likely it’ll be cops first, after that, local people who will think he’s an idiot.
Then he’ll pick a fight with someone over nothing, maybe a word or two or a phrase, and get tagged for it.
Personally, I think he’s trying to stir up a standoff of some kind for himself so that he can cry ‘victim’. Does that remind you of anyone else like that, anyone we ALL know about?
Look at all the big mouths in here. A bunch of key board warriors. Keep drinking that kool-aid that the media keeps feeding you. I guess investigative journalism is dead. I’m not a hard person to get a hold of. I have made no threats nor do I condone any threats. If you have not read the Koran and you disagree with my stance on Islam then your argument is invalid. FBI is not looking for me and if they were then again, I’m not a hard person to find. If you all want to keep your head in the sand about Islam then fine. I only hope that it does not claim your life or the lives of your loved ones before you wake up and smell the coffee. Wanna play a game? Lets guess which state the next Islamic attack will be in.
Aw, ain’t he cute!
You wouldn’t considering “arresting” a sitting US Senator a threat?
And seriously, son, keyboard warriors we ain’t. Most of us here are veterans, many are combat veterans. So no, that dog won’t hunt.
Further, you wanted attention, well, you got it. Your methods are unsound, your motives questionable, and your goals leave most wondering WTF you want. You’ve surrounded yourself with people of dubious character (kinda like yourself, so there’s that. Veterans spend effort daily trying to disabuse the crazy vet or whatever negative stereotype of us the media and most of the left (if not general public) has of the military, and you have to come along and play right into their hands.
Congrats on that, I guess.
Seriously, you and your Oathkeeper buddies are a bunch of clowns who should never, ever be taken seriously. Any legitimate point you may have had has long since been lost because of your asshattery. So yeah, your actions are asinine, regardless of your intentions, which I think is just a bunch of attention whoring, but YMMV.
You’re a dipshit, and you don’t follow through on your so-called threats. Last I heard, Debbie Stabenow is still not incarcerated.
For the record, I’m not sure that this is Ritzheimer. The IP address resolves from Phoenix and if he’s on his way to New York, like he claims he is, he would be well-away from Phoenix by now. But, of course, he might have backed off on his threat and went back home.
Oafkeeper? Shit talking?
Yeah, this is my shocked face.
Sounds legit. Someone could have made the same points w/o using his screen name. And no one said the FBI is looking for him. He has broken no federal law that I am aware of and no state law, either. His in-your-face approach is not something I applaud but he has the right to do what he does, just as others have a right to call him this, that and the other thing if they wish. His view of the threat of Islam is probably in accord with many, but his approach is not. It does seem to garner attention, though. I will say that.
Threatening a federal official ain’t exactly high on the list of smart shit to pull, Cav.
And while he’s free to say what he does, in the context in which he expresses it and the groups he aligns himself with show he’s not real bright, or is at least severely naïve about how the world works.
Just because he can do something, doesn’t mean he should.
So yeah, my earlier assessment of his being little more than an attention whore stands.
The “threat” did not result in a criminal charge so I’m guessing that it wasn’t deemed to be a threat at all. It is all about attention, I agree, and the message he seeks to send is not the one that is being received, by and large. The threat that is Islam is not confined to wanton or directed violence. Sharia law alone is a threat to our system, but the two-hour news cycle media are playing the pc game and flat-out refuse to call a spade a spade.
Fist of all there are those of us on this site that do see Islam as a threat. I have made it well know that I believe it is a disease of the mind.
Second, not all of course, but we have had an overabundance of posers and embellishing nitwits who have been part of the Oathkeepers organization.
Insofar as the next attack, I think personally we should be asking which States in plural the next attacks will come. I do not think it is a game of any kind. Americans will die in spite of our best efforts. I see nothing wrong with being prepared or vigilant when it comes to Situational Awareness.
A Marine SNCO with orders to ANGLICO could not have been a shitbird. I am skeptical as to Ritzheimers intentions but have been around long enough to know that the press can falsely inflate and or distort events.
I would be curious to have a conversation with Ritzheimer. I am also easily found, an email to admin at this site will easily find its way to me.
I believe that Islam is a threat. Not all Islamic people are of course, but they all smile at you, even the ones that are about to kill you.
I would honestly like to know what Ritzheimer sees as the best solution to our current situation.
We’ve both seen it before in our own brotherhood. It’s that “15 yard stare” that makes him so believable. Always a brilliant idea to make a video of yourself on the road, displaying a weapon, and stating your intentions. This guy’s a KEEPER. For the NYC police department, that is.
Jon, I’m an American Muslim. I’ve inboxes you on Facebook without a reply. I wrote an article calling you out. I’d love to publicly debate you but you are too much of a coward to accept. You are an enemy of what America was founded upon. You are an American Daa’ishi. You seek attention and its apparent that you are too intellectually bankrupt to understand how much you make yourself appear to be worse then what you’re spouting hate against.
Maybe he figured out the gun laws in NY are just a wee bit stricter than the ones in AZ.
Yay yay good boy. Displays 2.5 LOK–recognizes correct answer when given.
