Steve Rannazzisi and his 9-11 lies
Bobo sends us a link to the New York Times which reports that this comedian who I’ve never heard of has for years credited his career success to his experience on 9-11-2001 in the South Tower;
In elaborate detail, Mr. Rannazzisi, 37, has described working at Merrill Lynch’s offices on the 54th floor of the south tower when the first plane struck the north tower.
“I was there and then the first tower got hit and we were like jostled all over the place,” he told an interviewer in 2009.
He fled to the street just minutes before another plane slammed into his building, he said, and decided that very day that life was too precious to waste opportunities. So he abandoned his New York desk job to pursue a career as an entertainer in Los Angeles.
Yeah, so he wasn’t there, he didn’t work for Merrill Lynch and they didn’t have offices in that building, anyway.
“For many years, more than anything,” he said, “I have wished that, with silence, I could somehow erase a story told by an immature young man. It only made me more ashamed. How could I tell my children to be honest when I hadn’t come clean about this?”
His interviews, though, several of which remain posted on the Internet, show that a decade after the Sept. 11 attacks, Mr. Rannazzisi was still relating a harrowing experience.
Yeah, so just like so many of our military phonies, he’s mostly just sorry that he was finally caught in his lies. And, no, I don’t recognize him or his name, but he seems to be someone to somebody.

He even lies about his lies. He was still making the claims in 2011, back when he was, as he describes himself, “an immature young man” of 32 or 33. He must be a Democrat. A Republican would have at least said he was just visiting the Towers. Not him. He claimed he was working in an office for a company that had offices or personnel at the Towers.

He only admitted to telling his long string of lies over the past dozen years after he was confronted by a reporter about them. His apology was tainted by a poor excuses for his behavior (he says he was young and immature when he was neither). He is a pathological liar and exhibits some psychopathic behaviors. Just own up to it and people will leave you alone Mr. Rannazzisi. It is a simple open and shut case. You are a classic f’ed up case and you will likely never change.

This Guy is in sharp Contrast to Steve Buscemi, who before becoming an actor was a NYC Firefighter for 4 years. After 9-11 he went back to his old station and worked several 12 hour shifts With his old Engine Co 55. He declined photos or interviews, saying it wasnt about him.
He also helped in clean up efforts after Hurricane Sandy.

I live about 12 miles from NYC.This guy is piece of sh-t.You cant imagine what it was like here all the funerals day after day after day the heart beack that the people felt. You could see it in everyone face. If this guy was every to see me he better keep on walking.
Interesting…when I first saw this story, I had just returned from hearing Wes Wong, a retired FBI agent and genuine hero of Ground Zero, speak of that day and its effect on his life and career.
If you ever get a chance to hear Mr. Wong speak, do it. He is a captivating and engaging speaker who has been there and done that.
