Thursday morning feel good stories
Jerry920 and Bobo sent us a link from CBS News about how in St. Petersburg, Florida, Malachi Heisler had to shoot his father when his father came at him with a gun after forcing his way into the house ensconced in body armor and tacti-cool-wear. The elder Heisler had earned a restraining order from his ex-wife and had been arrested as a felon in possession of a gun a few months ago. This time, while in the darkness, he’d aimed a gun at his son, who was quicker on the draw and shot his father in the head. He didn’t know it was his father until after the damage was done – his father was wearing a ski mask. It also turns out that dear old dad had been brandishing a BB gun. Dad was DRT (dead right there).
I’m just wondering, has anyone ever successfully won back the love of their woman by holding her at gunpoint? It’s just that there are so many guys doing that these days, I wonder why they think it will work.
In Dayton, Ohio, a woman shot a burglar, he fled the scene, collapsed nearby and was declared DOT (dead over there) at the hospital. She’s also being credited with winging another burglar two years ago with her trusty sidearm.
An update to our story from yesterday which happened in Albuquerque, NM where a homeowner scored a DRT and a DOT, we add another DOT when police found the third suspect dead in his car. It may have been a self-inflicted gun shot wound that took him out. A fourth man has been arrested and claims that they were robbing a drug dealer, but he’s a criminal so who believes him?
In Youngstown, Ohio, a 90-year-old heard someone knocking at his door at about 12:30 in the morning. He ignored the knock, but soon after, he heard the sound of breaking glass on his porch, so he let loose with a round from his .357 Magnum pistol which sent the intruder off into the darkness before police could arrive. Us old people don’t want to make new friends in our homes at night…we’ll shoot you.
In Sweetwater, Tennessee, a persistent fellow was frightened away from a burglary job twice in the space of a couple of hours. The first time, he got away with a sunhat that was hanging outside the door that he couldn’t penetrate. The second time, he struggled with the fellow and discharged his firearm which frightened the criminal so badly that he abandoned the prized sunhat along with his sunglasses. He also un-assed the AO so quickly that he ran right out of his sneakers and left them behind, too.

I like this mornings list of events.
The St. Pete event sounds like a scenario that I fear happening to a family member. Her husband knows that he won’t get her back but he is wacko enough to think that no one else will have her either.
As for the Albuerque incident, it would be even sweeter if they were actually robbing a drug dealer, because it would show that they are killing eachother, savintg us the effort.
Just shoot em in the face and move on. Saves the courts, saves the taxpayer, and they will not repeat.
The first story proves that a restraining order is merely a piece of paper that won’t defend one like a handgun will, and range time is nice to get as well!
Looks like the first guys investment in body armor and tacti-cool stuff didn’t pay off for him…
Awww Geee whizz, poor sleazy puke…
Forgot his bicycle helmet.
He should have worn a PT belt, ask any CSM!! 😀
In regard to the Florida story, girls and women should still be taking self defense classes. I do not understand why anyone would think it’s not necessary any more.
That fellow down in Tennessee ran right out of his shoes, huh? Does he know winter is on its way? He probably has his pants barely hanging off his behind, too. Sounds like he’s not too bright.
As some Colonel or other put it awhile ago, my idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals. I have NO intention of slugging it out with some moron who is twenty years younger, a head taller, and fifty pounds heavier than I am. That’s a sure way to get killed. If someone comes at me with evil intent, I intend to open him or her up — and I have several helpers around that will do just that.
I feel sorry for the son. Forever after, he will blame himself for killing his own father, justified or not. My sympathies to him.
I would hope he would understand that he DIDN’T kill his father — he killed a violent man in a mask.
The truly sad part of all of this, is the father may have meant for this to happen, just the way it did. People of this personality and mentality know just how to hurt people who have innocently trusted and loved them. They will either kill their family members, and hurt them that way, or make the family member kill them — and hurt them worse.
Regarding the Florida shooting, the anti gun media (but I repeat myself)are playing the “son mistakenly shoots father” meme. Love dancing in the blood, they do. regards, Alemaster
