Johnathan Lozada; phony Marine arrested for sexual assault

This happened a few months ago, but we’re just hearing about it now. There was this fellow, Johnathan Lozada, in Boonton, New Jersey who seduced a minor girl by telling her that he is a Marine and deploying to one of our military adventures, so naturally, she’s got a bit of buyer’s remorse when Lozada didn’t leave, so the 21-year-old is being charged with Sexual Assault, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Unlawful Wearing of a Uniform.

On June 12, a 14 year old girl reported to law enforcement that she had engaged in sexual intercourse with Mr. Lozada while at his home in Boonton. The victim also stated that Mr. Lozada represented himself to be a member of the United States Marine Corps and wore what appeared to be authentic military insignia, specifically dog tags, and a United States Marine Corps tattoo. The victim alleged that Mr. Lozada convinced her to engage in sexual acts by telling her that he was deploying with the military within days.

I’m guessing that if the prosecutor looks further, he’ll find more victims. From New Jersey.com;

During the investigation, law enforcement determined that Lozada was not, and had never been, enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Lozada’s bail has been set at $75,000 no 10 percent with conditions of a Nicole’s Law Restraining Order and no contact with children under the age of 18.

New Jersey just passed their Stolen Valor Law, it will be interesting to see if they use it and to see if it has the teeth that the legislature said it would have.
