Monday morning feel good stories
This morning, we start in Gresham, Oregon, where a resident of a mobile home was assaulted by four men and stabbed, but through the magic of superior firepower, the resident made one of the men DRT (dead right there) and putting another one in the hospital. A third man was treated and released to police custody and a fourth escaped injury, but not the police.
In Hartford, Connecticut, a business owner was assaulted in his home by three men, two of whom he shot with his legally owned firearm. The two who were wounded are property of the local police while their friend, the one who was unharmed, left them there and he’s in the wind.

A good start to the holiday.
And these events took place in AOs where the ownership of guns is restricted. How unfortunate for the misguided criminal souls!
My feel good story is regarding our hospitalized veterans at the VA. As a volunteer, I work one-on-one with our patients. It helps the staff as they are so shorthanded.
I almost did not come in this past weekend. It can be very stressful at times. One of the nurses once told me that the nursing field has a very high drop out rate. I believe it.
I told myself “suck it up” and came in anyway even though I did not want to. It’s almost like the staff knew I needed a friendly word or two. Add to that the patients who are so appreciative of any help by an old retired Army NCO.
Become a VA Volunteer. It will change you forever.
GOD Bless you for having a careing and generous soul!
Yeh, doesn’t hurt to give a little payback to the VA for what they do for us…..I drove the VA van for a year, over 5000 miles…had to quit when my hearing interfered….couldn’t hear if someone was having a problem so I quit driving, tried answering the phones in the office,,,,dumb, if I couldn’t hear in the van how could I hear on the phones, which I couldn’t….well, I contributed a little, very little!
