Thursday morning feel good stories
Here’s one from Cambodia – villagers in Phnom Penh banded together and confronted a burglar and beat him unconscious and left him laying in a pool of blood despite police orders to not form a neighborhood watch group. I’ll bet that makes him think again about h.is chosen career.
In Prattville, Alabama, Bryan J. Vance was sentenced to 20 years in prison even though he never entered the home of the victim of his deceased partner, Mikel E. Smith, who was shot multiple times by the elderly woman who lived there back in 2014. Smith ended up DOT, by the way.
19-year old Damien Livingston, in Moscow Mill, Missouri, tried to turn his life around in someone’s bedroom. The owner heard Livingston rummaging through her jewelry box, but she kept quiet until he left the room, then she went a go her husband who was downstairs.
He went to confront Livingston in the garage with his gun, but Livingston told the man that he was armed, too. The husband let him get away, but the police caught up to the teen later. It’s really a bad idea to carry a gun into a dangerous situation if you don’t intend to use it. Livingston did have a gun when the police picked him up, but it was a gun that he stole from the garage.

Nice variety this morning. One beaten severely about the head and shoulders, One doing time for participating in the crime, and one person who needs to learn the first rule of weaponry. “If you pull it, use it”.
The Pratt, AL story sounded intriguing so I rode the link. It is intriguing. Two guys, one armed with a knife, go to an elderly woman’s home. The knife wielder enters. The other guy stays outside. The elderly victim unloads her S/W .38 and hits the target five times! The story doesn’t say whether it was a five or six shot revolver but I’m betting it was five. Annie Oakley! Anyway, the guy with the extra holes in him runs out and expires and the other guy is arrested. He could have been charged with his buddy’s killing but wasn’t, thanks to his taking the deal of 20 years! I like it. I like it a lot. Great story. Oh, in court, the elderly woman said that she forgives the defendant for making her shoot his buddy!
Ah! The early morning review of last night’s misbehavior and the results of it. It is a pleasant thing to start the day with it.
