The Capture Effect

| July 22, 2015

The capture effect is a real RF technical phenomenon – via Wiki: “The capture effect is defined as the complete suppression of the weaker signal at the receiver limiter (if it has one) where the weaker signal is not amplified, but attenuated. When both signals are nearly equal in strength, or are fading independently, the receiver may switch from one to the other and exhibit picket fencing.

I suspect that a reasoned case can be made that many (most?), humans exhibit the same sort of unintentional filtering.

One clear example would easily be the LGBT lot. They should be figuratively on the front lines when dealing with Islam. Perhaps I should be PC and have said RADICAL Islam, but as I understand it Islam has no/zero/nil room for gays at any level. Goats… shrug.

Younger Internet/Phone Junkies would also be targeted methinks.

My motive for bringing this up is simple. My muse has left me, or maybe just wandered off – I’m old. I used to be able to scan various news sources and find at least one thing that spurred a giggle or something interesting to me. Now all I get is some combination of annoyed and confused.

So the next time you think that some A’Hole is wrong, or full of s*it; Just remember The Capture Effect.

There… Don’t that make you feel better?

We’re a unique bunch, suffering from the effects of RF radiation, screaming klystron fans, unplanned capacitor discharges, and gallons of mess tent coffee.

Aquavelvijad said there are no gays in Iran. The Left apparently believed him.

Your post conjures up the silence of the unwilling. I often find nothing but primordial static when searching for the broadcast of those most threatened by Islamic dogma.

The need to illuminate themselves in a society that protects them only casts shadows on the real threat to their existence.

I am always bemused.

Capture effect, omae– I know full well I’ve mentioned that I consider all Abrahamic religion a pox on society, and would want nothing more for my birthday than to wake up and hear the news that the entirety of the middle east was a smoking crater of glass and ashes.

That’s a good definition of what the entire left – not just the LGBT’s – do. But I’m always struck by the lack of thinking on their part. It’s shocking sometimes. They always claim the high road of “intellectualism”. But they don’t react to anything but what left wing media orders/suggests/talks them into doing. It boggles the mind to see them behave so vapidly.

I think they spend so much time conjuring up new crap to annoy everyone else with so much that they miss the elephant in the room. I thought that elevating a nutless Bruce to hero status because of “courage” was the bottom of the barrel. Now it appears that vampires have to be considered normal too.

Between man-love Thursday, sanctioned pedophilia, and hating Christians, the LGBT community thinks they have much in common.

Two out of the three vacuum tubes in my head imploded as I read the above post and comments!

So, I guess, I agree …

It’s simple: the louder noises frequently get through and overcast the noise you actually do want to hear. That ol’ in-your-face technique makes all of that noise sound the same.

Go spend some time drinking coffee at a roadside truck stop. You’ll get your aMusement back.
