Meet Viole(n)t Grace TSO
Going to take a point of person privilege here and introduce you to Violet Grace Seavey. I met my wife blogging here and at The Sniper, and I even proposed to my wife on this blog. (You can read it here if you never saw it.) It took us 58 months to have our daughter, and there were times we wondered if maybe God had other plans, but through Him, and some help from science, we finally have someone to share our life.

She decided to wait until July, mostly I think my wife just wasn’t even trying hard because she (apparently) invented some thing called a Push Gift which I think is a load of made up stuff, but I have to buy her something expensive and because it is July she wanted a Ruby. June was probably like a bag of flour or something. Either way, she showed up at 0035 hours, and I haven’t slept much, so about to go nap. But I thought y’all might want to meet her.
I’m going to get her a provisional appointment to The Citadel, but pray every day she gets into UVA, which I still think the best college in the country. I’m going to teach her land nav, the sublime beauty that is a road march, and how to Golf, because if I can turn quality time into golf, I am a hero.
By the way, it’s “Viole(n)t” because Matt Burden is predicting she will wreak havoc on my life.

Great post. Congrats to all.
Beautiful family and your wife looks wonderful after 20 hours. Dad, One big kickass looking fella. I would give you my bat we kept by the front door when a fella would pick up a daughter for a date. License registration and insurance first then gave her a quarter and told her date, if she uses it to call us, that bat will be looking for you, but I still need it for my only grandchild. I thought I would never live to see a grandchild and was so surprised, I went ape shit and spent 1/4 of my inheritance and bought anything and everything and eleven years later still doing it.
Your daughter is a honey and will be proud of her daddy, as is every child whose father served. God bless you all now and always..
I just understood the 52 months.. Blessings from Buddha and God to those that wait for their gift…
Awww, what a cutie-pie!
Ahhhh Nice Pic ! ! !
Again Congrats ! ! !
🙂 🙂
Congratulations to you and your wife. Your life has now changed and it will be an interesting time. One that you will find wonderful, funny, frustrating, insane and ultimately the greatest achievement of your life. Good Luck and God Bless.
I have it on good authority that July is home appliance or tool month.
Maybe you could get your wife a nice vacuum or a chain saw or sumpin’.
😀 😀
*runs*.
I’ll feel *REALLY sorry for you when you get one of these. I murdered the one my son had and when my daughter got one a few years ago, I was ready to eat a bullet myself. LMFAO
Congrats Guys!
Almost as bad as Barnie or a talking Freakin’ Big Bird.
NO SWEAT, a stun gun to the battery terminals turn it into a silent stuffed toy NO MATTER what kind of batteries are in it, the stun gun’s voltage will fry the printed circuit boards. 😈
One more thing, Where is her Patriots onesie? My grandson had his on within an hour. Slacking, soldier!
My wife bought the 6 month Pats onesie so she could wear during the actual season. We also got a patriots canopy for the car seat.
As a patriots fan, you should come join me and some friends for the pats v cowboys game this fall. Will be a lot of fun, only person that won’t be there is Tom Brady!
Congrats brother, and we’ll done
That is borderline child abuse.
Just kidding. Enjoy the new bundle of joy and the sleepless nights that go with her. Enjoy it now because it goes by way too fast.
Yeah.
The only thing wrong with the picture.
She needs to be a Redskins fan!
Go DC!
My son had his first Colts onesie before he was even born.
My dog has a little Texas Longhorn jersey. Another season like the last couple and it’ll turn into a chew toy…
What a sweetie. Let’s hope she takes her temperament from her father, and her looks from her mother.
Good luck to the both of you.
Been there 4 times, 3 daughters and a son.
It’s never easy, but well worth it when you look back and have an opportunity to breathe and reflect (which doesn’t come often enough).
Congratulations! John Jameson and I will raise a glass in honor of the three of you this evening!
Congratulations!!
July is a great birthday month.
Congratulations. She’s beautiful.
Congrats, and welcome to Violet Grace.
What a beauty. She’s going to be a heartbreaker. I love that hat with the bow. Congratulations …
Congrats again to both of you, and welcome to the little one.
Congrats to all! Brings back fond memories of a couple of Julys – 30 and 23 years ago.
They grow up damn fast. Cherish EVERY second….
Prettiest girl and second-best lookin’ baby I have seen lately… I have to defer to my grandson born a month ago today or yours would have nailed the top prize overall.
Congrats and am very glad both mother and child are doing well. Mine are 13 and 23…boy they grow up fast.
Again, congrats!!..and GO PATS!!
It’s the end of the world as you knew it.
And that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Congrats, and glad Mom and Daughter are doing fine.
Where is my Cigar? Ok Dad, you will now spend the next several years teaching her to walk and talk. You will spend the next 10 years teaching her to sit down and shut up. Then the fun begins. She will start having thoughts of her own, well not really thoughts by your standards. You will be reduced to a drooling fool that has no understanding of what is going on for about 8 years. Your wife, you know that love or your life you married, she and your daughter will conspire against you. (Thats about the time the boyfriends show up) The Good New is; after all that is over, she will forever become Daddy’s little Girl again.
Semper Fi Brother
Beautiful family picture – congratulations!
Ditto, beautiful. My Household 6 is drooling over the picture and hoping our next grandchild (due in September) will be a girl.
Good looking family, TSO. Well, not you, but the other 2 in the picture. 🙂
Wonderful! Welcome aboard, newest member of the family, the TAH family, that is. Violet. Love the name. Nice choice.
All three of you be safe and healthy.
Oh yeah… if it ain’t happened yet, my nephew used to love grabbing my beard with both hands and kinda swinging and laughing.
(Shrug)Kept him entertained for the nonce.
I remember the beard part.
Ouch!
My youngest cured me of wearing earrings.
Congratulations, again, Good luck and hold on tight, it will be a wild ride.
Great picture!
How I remember those days.
It also would appear that I am getting that old in that both TSO and the little one have more hair than I do these days.
Oh, how time flies!
Congratulations again.
She’s absolutely adorable and I’m so happy she’s here and that she and mom are doing well – I don’t really care how you are doing in this situation.
This photo is one of my favorites. All of the pics with Violet in them are my favorites.
As much as I love Caroline these “push” gift things remind me of the Real Housewives of New Jersey (don’t ask where that came from)
Impossible to be any happier for you all. Love ya
Now that is awesome. Congrats!
I think Northern Arizona University was pretty darn good. She looks like a Lumberjack to me.
If the Mrs. is practical minded, there will come a day when Violet’s stuff–from her first article of clothing to her favorite stuffed toy, become disposable (w/ exceptions of course.) You, however, will be willing to part only with her used diapers. Begin preparations now. Buy the tubs and clear space in the attic or loft ASAP. One day you are taking a pic of her sleeping and the next you are videoing her graduation. Last item. Congratulations and welcome to Worry World.
It was asked, but not answered, in the great proposal link.
What is the acronym “TSO”? A Google search doesn’t show anything relevant and I can’t think of a way that Bernasty plays…plus, usage dates back to BN (Before Nasty).
Pretty sure it’s an acronym for his original pen name here and/or elsewhere. I’ll let him confirm that, plus tell the rest of the story about the name’s origin, when he has the time and energy.
Terminal Services Officer.
Mess around, you win Terminal Services.
(or, maybe could be something else…)
“Thus Spake Ortnir?”
I know TSO has said it in the past and that it was a joke about a former senior officer’s pronouncements.
Only advice I can give about kids:
1 – Carter’s clothing is actually the size on the label
2 – Baby Einstein toys will survive a two year old boy
3 – Graco carseats and playpens rock.
Any other advice is either wrong or an outright lie!
from the proposal link above:

I was the third wheel standing there awkardly when they first had googly eyes for each other in Vegas and then again, I was standing there awkardly when he was proposing to her. I will forever be a part of their love story! I should be in the room with them when they have their first baby! It was an awesome proposal!”
soooooooo?
She was there via text!
Beautiful, both Mom and baby! My sincere congratulations! Life will definitely never be the same, but the trade-off is worth it.
I just spent the day babysitting my 6 month old grandson, our first. Grandchildren are even more of a blessing than our kids, just wonderful.
Another MAZEL TOV to the TSO Family!!
She’s beautiful, man.
Congrats Mr/Mrs TSO 🙂
Girls are special…spoil the shit out of her 🙂
Congratulations to you both! She is gorgeous.
So happy for you both!
Congrats! Well done to all involved.
In 12 years or so, you are entitled to change in the congrats for condolences, or so I’m told.
Dang, dude! That is AWESOME!!!
What a beautiful photo – in spite of that dude wearing the Patriots gear. 😉
Congratulations. You will discover love in your heart you never knew existed. It’s a wonderful (and sometimes scary) thing.
Congratulations TSO and Caro! I wish you lots of love and naps when you can get them. Can’t wait to read all about y’all’s new adventures!
TSO
From our family to yours….congratulations! As you now know…..there is NOTHING like family. Nothing!
Many happy days await you…and many sleepless nights.
God bless the entire Seavey family.
Congratulations! That’s 4 of the happiest faces right there. Yes, I’m counting the flying Elvis….
Congrats and Wahoo-Wah!
I assume cigars have already been mailed. Congratulations again. She’s adorable. Although I question your taste in sports teams, I agree she needs a Patriots *yuck* onesie ASAP. When my son was born, my first purchase was a Tampa Bay Lightning onesie. I’m sort of ashamed and proud that one of his first words was “hockey”.
Awesome bro, congrats all around to your and lovely better half…oh by the way and for the record, push gifts ARE a thing, so get it done…
I’ve seen everything from a mommy recliner to a vacation given as a push gift….so you have some room for discretion and still be considered acceptable…your wife would probably kill you but they make a nice hammered silver dog tag that comes with the wife’s initial and the baby’s full name for a couple hundred bucks…the ruby is never a bad choice, but you have options.
Congrats TSO! Best of luck in 14 years or so…
TSO, a Makers Mark and cigar toast to you, your bride and new little one. Wishing everyone nothing but the best life has to offer!
Way too awesome! Congrats! Mom and daughter look fabulous. (Bigfoot, not so much…)
Task Force Viole(n)t Grace.
Holy crap what a cool name. God Bless you guys.
My little peanut just turned 25. Where do the years go? No grandkids yet, but she just graduated college and is a registered RN, so I am blessed the education came first. I feel almost as old as Green Thumb…
Welcome to the world Violet Grace Seavey! You have a great head start with the wonderful parents God gave you.
