Thursday morning feel good stories
It was a busy night for the forces of good battling evil across the country;
AW1Ed and Jon the Mechanic send us a link to the events in Charlotte, North Carolina, former prosecutor Steve Sellers heard a ruckus outside his house and went to investigate. He found 31-year-old Degarrian Santonia Coleman blasting away at his grandmother who he had shot in the leg while she was driving and caused to wreck her car. Mister Sellers challenged Mister Coleman to lay down his weapon, but Coleman refused. Sellers shot him DRT. Coleman’s grandmother is expected to end up a little better than him.
In Nitro, West Virginia a couple awoke to the sound of someone breaking into their home. The man encountered an armed fellow in his living room who demanded his money. The man surrendered his earnings and then took a couple of shots at the fellow, but he’s not sure if he hit him.
Chief Tango sends us four more stories;
In Albuquerque, New Mexico two former CNN correspondents, Lynne Russell and her husband Chuck de Caro, stopped for the night at a Motel 6 to get some rest when Russell opened her car door, an armed fellow dragged her from the automobile and into the room. Her husband was right behind with his weapon and the thug ended up being DRT.
In Midland, Texas, a homeowner went to check on his dogs and encountered an intruder who un-assed the AO when hot lead was injected into the encounter, but the homeowner needs some target practice – no one was injured.
In Belton, South Carolina, 60-year-old Daniel Marvin Bratcher thought the best way to win back the love of his 44-year-old girlfriend was to force his way into her home and beat her. She disabused him of that notion by perforating his abdomen with a couple of .38 caliber bullets. When Brachter got to the hospital, he was determined to be DRT. I’m sure Shakespeare would have written about their great love if he’d been around.
In Albany, Georgia, a man went to check on his dog who was raising a ruckus and found a man dressed in black wearing a mask in one of the cars in his garage. The homeowner fired his gun at the fellow four times and didn’t hit him, not once, but he did un-ass the AO in a hurry.

Range time, people!!!!!
I have a day off, tomorrow, and you know where I’m going?? That’s right; the range. It’s been about a month, so the 1911 and AR need some luvin’!!! Gonna swing by Wally World (they have the best prices in the area on .45) on the way home and pick up some more ammo, not that I don’t have enough for the mission, I just go by the rule of never having enough ammo.
AMEN to that, OT!! Every time Mrs. Infidel®™ howls at me saying “You already own plenty of bullets!…” I reply with “My Dear, there is NO SUCH THING as owning too much ammo, that’s like saying there’s too much beer in the cooler when you’re going fishing or saying you own too much fishing tackle!”. I’ll then say she already has plenty of plants and flowers around the house, and she lets off. I’ve also made it a point to keep stocking up with ammo for the pistol I got her for her birthday, and that calms her down.
I don’t know about the ammo prices where you live, but I have noticed that .45 ammo has come down in price, since the Sandy Hook buying hysteria has subsided, and it’s about the same price as, or a little cheaper than, .40 and not much more than 9mm. I’m not complaining, mind you, just making an observation. I’ve been shooting mostly .223 in the AR, because some places think they have fricken gold with 5.56, and it remains about $35-$40 per 100 rds.
Silencers are officially legal in Vermont today. So I am celebrating by going to a range that is having a expo with free ammo.
Yeah, we made them legal about a month ago, here in Minnesota, too.
My Dad told me that you can never have enough ammo, and I try to live by that. That reminds me, I need to stop by the store this weekend!
Re: the Albuquerque story: According to other reports I have seen, Lynne Russell is a former deputy sheriff, and her husband is reportedly former Army SF.
Probably not the two people you’d want to be robbing.
The thug will have plenty of time to reevaluate his target selection strategies during a lengthy dirt nap.
And yet. . . .they were CNN correspondents?
Once upon a time, CNN wasn’t quite as openly biased as it now is. Maybe she saw what was coming, and got out while the getting was good.
I think she was a black belt as well. I (fondly) remember seeing her on CNN 🙂
Motel 6????
They left the light on for them.

good read on the DRT.
there was “no way” he would’ve let the gunman harm his wife.
“I was determined to save my dream girl’s life — even if it cost my own,” he told The Post, adding that his injuries “hurt like hell.”
Cops say the shooting was justified.
“The police had to stay with him, keep me from going over to that man’s body and kicking the s–t out of him,” Russell said.
It was a close shave for the husband. The report said he was shot three times, as well.
I have always thought LynneLynne Russel was a hottie and I never figured her for a lib like her former colleagues. Glad she and her husband are okay.
Close to a feelgood story. Two Police officers in Palestine, Texas were cleared in the shooting death of a man who pulled a pellet gun on them.
The suspect was being escorted from an Applebee’s resturaunt when the shooting occured on May 31st.
The officers were about to question him about the attempted theft of a case of beer from a nearby Walmart.
47 year old James Bushey had recently moved from New Hampshire and according to his brother was a Good ol’ Boy who was trying to leave his troubles behind him.
A few people stated that he tried to use the BB gun in New Hampshire to rob places.

The perp really turned his life around! 🙂
Very much binary today. 6 total perps, 3 guaranteed non-recidivists – but the other 3 on the loose, one presumably getting away with the stuff he came to steal.
Oh well, no one hits a home run every at bat.
Too bad about the guy’s grandmother and the guy losing his money. Hopefully the lady recovers fully; but I’m afraid the guy can kiss his cash goodbye.
I’m thinking that buying stock in gun ranges and underwear manufacturers will make me a rich man…
Just don’t reverse that and go for gun manufacturers, or at least be careful which ones you invest in. Colt is declaring bankruptcy (deservedly). In a supreme point of irony, the company that makes the Gun That Won The West is being closely looked at by a California Indian tribe who want to buy it.
There is one item that escaped the Good News file: 4,000 people in Washington State lost power when a naked woman crashed her car into a power line pole.

Please, people – do NOT drive naked! I will not feel sorry for you if your mother scolds you about changing your underwear daily.
Better a 24 year old than that middle-aged Florida woman a coupla years back who wrecked while doing a bikini shave touchup while driving.
I bet there was a half-naked man who was really the driver and left the scene. Follow up stories should be interesting.
Tears rolling down my cheeks, not in sadness, HAPPY LAUGHING TEARS…
What, no practice ranges in Georgia, Texas or West Virginia? My huge surprise was a former Crescent News Network reporter type who was armed. ARMED I tell you! With an evil, deadly, kills all on its own, handgun! The wonders never cease.
Wolf (I was there with Brian Willaims) Blitzer, wouldn’t let this guy shine his shoes now. He’s shown his true colors. Those being, “my and my friends lives are worth more than a criminal’s”.
