Jade Helm 15

| May 6, 2015

Jade Helm

A number of people across the country have collectively lost their shit over the prospect of Special Forces and Ranger soldiers taking part in an exercise in Texas that has been named Jade Helm 15. They’re the same folks who are watching in amazement those videos of the reptile people on YouTube – they’re the vinegar-spraying people trying to make the chem-trails disappear. Ex-PH2 sends this link from MSN about a press conference that the Pentagon held to explain the exercise to the media (a futile endeavor, I assure you);

“Operation Jade Helm poses no threat to any American’s civil liberties,” Army Col. Steve Warren, a Pentagon spokesman, said Monday. “Operation Jade Helm is being conducted by Americans — by, specifically, American special forces personnel.”

Jade Helm 15 will be one of the biggest peacetime military exercises in six decades. Starting July 15 and lasting two months, thousands of Army Rangers, Green Berets, Navy SEALS and other special operations forces will simulate war missions in mainly remote areas of Arizona, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Texas and Utah.

Jade Helm 15 will take place on tracts of both public and private land in the seven states.

Yeah, well, that’s what they’d say if they were lying, isn’t it?

There are exercises on private and public land in Germany, in Alaska and in Korea. When the exercise was over, we packed up our stuff and left those places just the way we found it, generally speaking. But the hype is being fueled by the nut jobs like those folks at Infowars.

But, seriously, do you think that kid who delivered your newspaper ten years ago who is now an Army Ranger would lock you up in an abandoned Walmart? Those kids who played Little League with your child would kick down your door and haul you off to a FEMA camp? Do you think a patriotic guy like Chris Kyle who took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution would deny you your rights? It’s not like there’s a farm somewhere that grows special forces soldiers for the government – they come from your neighborhoods, from your schools. They packed your groceries at the supermarket. They mowed your lawn, they raked your leaves and shoveled your walk.

I’ll admit that I don’t like the current administration and I don’t trust them out of my sight, but I have faith in the Americans in the military who stand between us and them. I also trust the FBI, the NSA, the CIA, The Men In Black and S.H.I.E.L.D to protect my rights. Of course, in the six years that I’ve lived here, I’ve seen not one chemtrail over my house. I’ve also been accused of being a space alien (or at least, I have knowledge of space aliens and their technology) because of where I worked until last year. So, what do I know?

Don’t forget Carolina Combat!

Anyone who has worked in the Beltway or Pentagon knows nothing stays quiet so if this were what the nuts thought it would have gotten out long ago. On a more serious note people should have more faith in our military and the oaths we take and the love of nation we have. There will always be crazy people who believe anything there are still those that think 9/11 was “an inside job”.

You mean Rosie O’Donnell was wrong when she said, “ITS THE WRONG KIND OF FIAH!” years back?

It’s not just Texas…they are pulling their shyt here in Arizona too! I heard this am that highway 40 was shutdown at Seligman and that people taking pictures were having their cameras erased….anyone that thinks this isn’t ain’t at Americans is dumb as a box of rocks!!!

I know I feel safer that you’re around. Being the Beslan warrior that your are. You’ve had a long and distinguished fake military career and I for one would like to say thank you for your fake service, sir.

STOP calling our glorious leader “a”round!! He is not fat!

“Faker 6” Giduck, I DO know of one bunch that appreciates you, THAT’S why you get a “Preferred Customer Card” at the doughnut shops (*OOPS*, that’s them thanking you for your PATRONAGE, not service, never mind!!). 😀

Terrorologist

I hole-hardedly agree, but allow me to play doubles advocate here for a moment. For all intensive purposes I think you are wrong. In an age where false morals are a diamond dozen, true virtues are a blessing in the skies. We often put our false morality on a petal stool like a bunch of pre-Madonnas, but you all seem to be taking something very valuable for granite. So I ask of you to mustard up all the strength you can because it is a doggy dog world out there. Although there is some merit to what you are saying it seems like you have a huge ship on your shoulder. In your argument you seem to throw everything in but the kids Nsync, and even though you are having a feel day with this I am here to bring you back into reality. I have a sick sense when it comes to these types of things. It is almost spooky, because I cannot turn a blonde eye to these glaring flaws in your rhetoric. I have zero taller ants when it comes to people spouting out hate in the name of moral righteousness. You just need to remember what comes around is all around, and when supply and command fails you will be the first to go. Make my words, when you get down to brass stacks it doesn’t take rocket appliances to get two birds stoned at once. It’s clear who makes the pants in this relationship, and sometimes you just have to swallow your prize and accept the facts. You might have to come to this conclusion through denial and error but I swear on my mother’s mating name that when you put the petal to the medal you will pass with flying carpets like it’s a peach of cake.

Did these vets say it was due to their being told they have been classified as threats themselves by our government? Or was it due to alleged LITMUS tests question that asked if our people would fire on us?… Assuming those that said “yes” get picked to go of course…

AW1 Tim

I have some serious concerns over whether those folks, or at least the majority of them, are actually veterans.

Yeah, every community has that 1%-2% of folks, and we’ve all served with them at one point or another, but for the 98%-99% rest of them, I’d like to think we understand and trust our fellow service critters.

I’ve had more than one face-to-face discussion with folks up here (mostly at the local coffee shop) where there’s a majority of them what are hipsters, etc, regarding this crap. They simply don’t understand, and refuse to believe that we swore an oath to the Constitution, and NOT to any president or political party. The common refrain I’ve heard among them is “Obama is using his army” and similar craptastic descriptions.

So, those who are convinced it’s all a plot by the ________________________ (fill in the blank) to enslave us all will never be convinced by facts.

Jonn hit it square in the black. these are the same bunch who believe in Reprillians, ChemTrals, and the future roundup of us all and placement on FEMA camps.

Eric

Well, Obama’s army is led by Valerie Jarrett and consists of groups like ACORN, forget their new name.

You could throw all the other ass kissers in there too, but we all know.

Funny, because if you ask those hipsters, I’d bet 99% of them voted for Obama twice…

It wouldn’t be phrased that way. It would be about ‘maintaining stability’ and defending against ‘outside agitators’ or some such nonsense. And it has already been done. Against VETERANS! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonus_Army Reply · Like · 4 · 11 hours ago Jesse Speenah Buhlnah · Follow · Top commenter I don’t think Jade Helm is the beginning of anything. I don’t like it because it uses as training aids any civilians in the civilian areas where Jade Helm occurs. Without their consent. And unnecessarily. There are HUGE training areas all over the US. There are urban combat training areas on most major installations. Using civilians for training aids when we have other options is disturbing. Especially since we’ve used the existing training areas through 12 years of war. You know, if war wasn’t enough to justify something like Jade Helm then maybe it’s just not a good idea. You know the military has developed scenarios and had exercises directed at ‘civil unrest’ caused by ‘food shortages leading to rioting’? You don’t think a young person, under 24, with little education past high school, little life experience, and fresh from training, will follow orders to ‘assist’ his fellow citizens by maintaining order? HA! They rounded up the Japanese-Americans during WWII. This exercise, while almost certainly not a threat, was ill conceived and is needlessly upsetting lots of people. PROOF!!!

LongTabSigo

First off, this is a PAO fail by the USASOC PAO. period..

I find it hard to believe that the exercise planner leadership did not take the time to talk with the state gov’ts where this exercise was being conducted. It’s been in the works for a while.

The hysteria is reminiscent of the nonsense flying around during the Clinton years. Of course back then we had Ruby Ridge, the Branch Davidians, and Elian Gonzalez. Still the paranoia is laughable.

I say this in all sincerity: this Nation does not appreciate (and probably doesn’t deserve) the military it has. The fact that such nonsense can have ANY traction for more than a minute (ESPECIALLY IN TEXAS!) is proof.

Claymore

Wasn’t there some rumored Navy report that asked a bunch of Marines questions related to this sort of thing and the general consensus was that it would lead to widespread breakdown of unit cohesion and outright refusal of orders? I seem to remember something like that. Could be wrong. Could be bullshit.

AW1 Tim

It was and the results were like you said. All but a tiny majority responded that they would not obey such orders, considered them illegal, and some responded that they’d consider arresting/holding senior leadership who tried to give such orders to them.

We’ve done a good job educating our new recruits since 1945 in the concept of “lawful orders” and that “I was just following orders” isn’t a valid defense.

rb325th

As I recall it was for an individuals research project, not an official survey by the Navy.

Ex-PH2

Reptile people? This is what I get for not having a TV.

But seriously, if someone wanted to take over this country, the logistics involved are enormous. You’d have to find a way to force people out of their homes without the TV media involved in it. You’d have to find people who were willing to do that, and the only people I can think of would be panhandling on a street corner somewhere.

But see, those minor rebellious acts during the so-called sequester squelch, which squelched the sequester squelch, are forgotten by the paranoid and delusional, who revel in their P&D.

Hey, can we make that the next new social disease? “I caugh the P&D during the last tornado.”

If I see any black helicopters flying over my house, I will be sure to get photos of them.

Hondo

Ex-PH2: I think Jonn’s talking about the reputed “Reptilian” aliens that are supposedly the enemies of the friendly aliens (“Grays”) that allegedly hang out at Area 51.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grey_alien

Old Trooper

Dude, you are sooooo 1965. They don’t hang out at area 51, anymore, it’s New Mexico, in the underground base.

Didn’t you get the memo?

Hondo

Au contraire, amigo. Bob Lazar went public about Area 51 in the late 1980s/early 1990s. At the time, they were still keeping friendly Grays there and trying to figure out the captured antigravity drive based on element 115 – according to Lazar. And a bunch of the facilities at Area 51 were supposedly underground.
I think you fell for the “secret underground base in NM” cover story they planted about that time!

http://www.otherhand.org/home-page/area-51-and-other-strange-places/bluefire-main/bluefire/

Yeah, Lazar was full of it. But his story was entertaining. (smile)

Old Trooper

Nope. That was S4, on the South side of Groom Lake, away from the main complex. Where it was all sooper sekrit.

Hondo

Yep – if I recall correctly, “S4” was one of Area 51’s sites devoted to that line of “research”. All sooper sekrit, special program “BS”. (smile)

HMCS(FMF) ret.

Are they the ones that do the alien anal probes?

Hondo

Dunno. Maybe some of the members of the Dutch Rudder Gang can answer that question.

A Proud Infidel®™

Terrorologist

Well, being that they’ve all got sh*t for brains, any prob of over 1 inch would probably accomplish that outcome.

Casey

Hold on, are we talking Red Lectroids or Black Lectroids here?

Ex-PH2

So what you’re saying, Hondo, is that Jonn really IS a space alien?

He must be! Otherwise, how would he know about them?

Alex Jones is one of those getting rich off of other peoples paranoia. I seriously think he doesn’t even believe half of the shit he puts out there, but only does it to drive up ratings for his talk show and advertising dollars.

Hondo

I seriously think he doesn’t even believe half of the shit he puts out there, . . . .

Half? You’re kidding, right? More like 95% would be my guess.

I don’t know-I was pretty brutal with the chants of “no batter, no batter, no batter” and “we want a pitcher, not a belly-itcher” and the little bastards may not have forgotten or forgiven.

MCPO NYC USN Ret.

Truth about FEMA Camps:

They are real.

Several in operation in Oregon and Florida (7 year test period). One rumored in South Dakota and one has been authorized for upstate New York.

This IS how it works:

NSA, CIA, DIA and other 3 lettered agencies monitor citizen web activity and daily lives by hacking into all computers, flat screen TV’s and automobile onboard entertainment consoles (to name only a few options). This is referred to as Remote Observation of Citizens (ROOC).

Those citizen classified using processing code # URACI 13 after a successful ROOC are lured to camps with promise of free stuff (depending on profile built from ROOC). Free stuff can be a wide range of valuables, services and or commodities that typically attract URACI 13’s.

Once a verified URACI 13 arrives at camp after ROOC, an immediate re-processing session is conducted with a follow on Reintegration Under Remote Supervision (RURS). Stays at camps last only 7 to 14 days under current Patriot Act provisions.

FEMA Camp, ROOC, URACI 13 and RURS activities are not subject to FOIA as outlined in DNI Doctrine 1237.1B.

John Robert Mallernee

Glad you’re still with us, Master Chief!

When’s your surgery?

MCPO NYC USN Ret.

I am TAD in South Dakota inproccessing about 75 URACI 13’s shipped up from Texas. They thought it would be a good idea to disrupt Jade Helm 15 by using drones within the 50 mile exclusionary zone! There are idiots … one sure way to find you ass in a FEMA Camp is to fly a drone in exclusionary zone!

John Robert Mallernee

Aw, shucks, how come them government agents keep picking on the farmers?

Don’t they know we need all those beehives, including the drones, in order to pollinate crops and produce honey?

By the way, when’s the last time you ate, or saw, comb honey?

I love that stuff, but stores no longer sell it.

I haven’t chewed on a honeycomb since – – – before I went in the Army?

Have you ever heard of skyrr?

I just learned about it yesterday.

Being mostly (fifty percent) of Viking descent, I’ll have to try it out some day, if I can ever find any.

Honestly, I enjoy breathing a little chem trail now and again. I have encouraged the abduction of my mother-in-law for years, alien of otherwise. Her place is easy to find, it’s the one with the goat staked out in the front yard. Sadly, nothing seems to work.

When it comes to the kids that grew up with us, bagged or groceries, played ball with us, and shared apple pie with us, are they not the same ones that grew up and put a bullet through Randy Weavers wife and infant. Pretty sure the rest of the kids they were playing with at the time gave them an award for it and celebrated the event.

The there is always Wacko’s at Waco, where the kids just burnt down the place. I think they learned that from the kids in Phily. They didn’t even bring marshmallow’s, but all kids like a good bonfire.

Everyone knows kids should not play in the rain, but those children all grown up now decided to put on costumes and take thousands of guns away from law abiding citizens during Katrina.

I just wish the kid bagging my groceries didnt play with our civil liberties so often. Lots of them like to dress up on the weekend and play war. I just wish more of them would let us in on the fun.

I like the kids in my neighborhood, but I keep an eye on the little bastards.

John Robert Mallernee

Well, even if it IS the beginning of the Third American Revolutionary War, there ain’t nothing I can do about it, one way or the other.

I’m too badly sick, still coughing my guts out all night long.

Yes, I’ve got my four wheel drive pickup truck, my CAR-15 with bayonet and forty round magazine, my steel pot, flak vest, gas mask, and web gear, but I doubt I can do much with any of that stuff any more.

But, American military personnel attacking American civilians?

! ! ! YES ! ! !

Have you so quickly forgotten about the Waco Massacre and/or Hurricane Katrina?

It was the Alabama National Guard, not the Texas Rangers, using Combat Engineer Assault Vehicles (which, on television, look like tanks) in the murderous final assault on the Branch Davidian sect.

The tactic is to use military personnel from distant states to do the job, in order to bypass any problem of personal emotions interfering with the mission.

Surprisingly, in New Orleans, members of the Utah National Guard refused to obey orders to disarm local citizens.

The oath to the Constitution means more to Mormons, because it’s a basic part of our religion.

The Chinese used that same psychological tactic of using alienated troops from distant provinces to open fire on the Tiananmen Square protestors.

Why do you think our government wants United Nations troops deployed on our soil?

Where do you think the “U.S.A. P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Act” came from, with its creation of the Department of Homeland Security (whose very name should make everyone suspicious) and the Transportation Safety Administration?

By the way, I challenge any average American layman to read and interpret the contents of the “U.S.A. P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Act”.

I have attempted to read it, and it ain’t nothing but deliberately pure incomprehensible legalese gobbledygook, intended to mean whatever government agents want it to mean, giving them license to do whatever they wish to do.

In re: NG involvement in Waco–The Alabama National Guard provided support through aerial photography in January 1993. The Texas National Guard and Fort Hood provided vehicles and other equipment.

John Robert Mallernee

@ D:

When I was watching those tracked vehicles on television, at least one of them was displaying a large Alabama state flag.

As I recall from reading later on, there was also a problem with the Alabama National Guard.

I think it was a racial mutiny, but I’m not certain.

The passage of time really muddles things up.

There was aviation support from Fort Hood, illegally authorized based on false information in an affidavit from the BATF.

nbcguy54ACTUAL

I was at Hood during that time with a former brother-in-law who was an aviation maint CWO at the time. He showed me pics of an ATF Huey that got basically shot down and brought to his unit on a flatbed for repair. It went down under “control” but needed a lot of work to get airworthy again.

If anybody should be losing their shit, it should be the drug dealers and illegals sneaking across the border. Imagine what would happen if one of these groups encounters a group of friendly, neighborhood SPECIAL FORCES and a shot is fired at them. I can promise you that the only trace those drug runners were present would be some freshly turned dirt and live rounds dropped in the amnesty box.

I remember a whole bunch of years ago, some convicts escaped from the Utah State Prison.

As they made their way through the valley along the river, they ran smack into a team from the 19th Special Forces Group (Airborne), who were patrolling in that area on a field exercise.

All of the craziness aside, what underlies this hoopla is distrust of government. Many Americans simply do not trust the government. As for the questions about government’s military and, I’ll add, law enforcement agents, that’s something I’ve wondered since The Emperor entered the palace on Pennsylvania Avenue. Would troops fire on American citizens in rebellion. My answer is yes.

Mr. Blue

I’ve followed this fairly closely and this is the first time I’ve heard it was SpecOps and Rangers. All the stories I’ve seen just said “civilian dressed army troops”.

The question is why do they need to do this in the first place? Much of the hysteria could be avoided if someone at the Pentagon would just tell everyone what was going on and why it is.

The story here is all of the people so conditioned by this government of Ruby Ridge and Waco with an American Hating Marxist Muslim as President intent on giving Nukes to our enemies that everyone believes the worst immediately. I know I no longer trust our government.

Skippy

Damn my wife used the last of our tin foil for our BBQ !!!!!
But on the up side, I still have my New Years Party Hat !!!! Heeee Hawwwwww !!!!!!

Ex-PH2

Well, to start with, you need a medium-sized nesting bowl, or one that will fit on your head.

Then you need a nice box of heavy duty Walmart house brand baking foil.

You also need the red Swingline stapler, for fastening things together.

So you make the basic shape on the nesting bowl with a couple of squares of HD Walmart foil and try that on for size. If it isn’t big enough, you add more foil to let out the seams.

When it fits your head, you use the red Swingline stapler to fasten the parts together. Then you add more layers of HD Walmart foil, one at a time, and fasten those to the foil base with the red Swingline stapler. To get the cowlick point, which is the handle, you make the final layers longer than the others. Then you staple the final layers to the base and squish them together at the top, and staple them to the base on the seams, with the red Swingline stapler.

You can use a hole punch to punch holes in the rim and add a couple pieces of kitchen twine so that you can tie it under your chin.

I wouldn’t add knitting needles for antennae. They’re too heavy and the aliens might think your brain is a jello mold and eat it.

You can add blinking lights to the outside of the tinfoil hat, to make it look like you’re really an android named DATA. I’d use several different colors for that. You can also add a fringe made of tinsel around the foil cowlick, so that the aliens will think you’re radiating xenon rays or something.

I heard they’re allergic to xenon rays, but what do I know?

43 plus year Air Force Vet

Folks, I think you are missing the main part of this argument, the email I received on this said:

DOD INSTRUCTION NO. 3025.21
In February 2013, the Department of Defense (DOD) unilaterally made a few subtle changes to a regulation in the U.S. Code titled “Defense Support of Civilian Law Enforcement Agencies” and in so doing, granted itself the authority to police America’s streets without obtaining prior presidential, state, or local consent, thereby upending a precedent that has been in place for more than two centuries.

Pursuant to those changes, the DoD issued a 42-page Department of Defense Instruction (DODI), No. 3025.21, February 27, 2013. (Click here or here for DODI No. 3025.21 in PDF) and which I downloaded and does have the above date on it.

The point being is that these subtle changes in DODI No. 3025.21 in essence preempts Posse Comiatus and the right to police America’s streets without obtaining prior presidential, state, or local consent. All they have to do is label you as a “terrotist” or “militant” which they have done to most Vets and they can arrest you and throw away the key and without due process of law. That is the point. If you don’t believe me, then download it your self and try and figure out what it says or hire a lawyer to interpret it for you since it is written by lawyers.

MCPO NYC USN Ret.

For someone in the US Mil for so long, you should know better.

You are dead wrong.

I happen to work professionally in that lane.

The provision for “DoD to provide support to civil authorities” is a good thing. DoD has capabilities that far exceed that of any other fed, state and or local jurisdiction.

Having said that, if a disaster strikes (and there is a need for Public Safety and Security), the locals are out of play and the governor orders National Guard, the National Guard Bureau (NGB) sends in NG forces from other states and the POTUS orders in fed forces … They will all report to a Joint Task Force (JTF) Commander who sits on a Unified Coordination Group (UCG) and will take orders from the Senior Federal Law Enforcement Officer (SFLEO) should the need be to use for law enforcement.

The above scenario is possible but highly unlikely. Perhaps post nuke blast … But still unlikely!

When was the last time a uniformed member of the US armed forces effected a legal arrest in a federal declared emergency and or disaster area?

Crickets!

So in review, the purpose of “support to civil authorities” is just that … SUPPORT!

That is all!

GDContractor

At what point in that above plan to we get an awesome One Star HMFIC that says shit like “Don’t get stuck on stupid!!!”? That’s the part I like.

Bobo

Yup, that’s how it works. The only caveat that I would add is that the JTF from NORTHCOM will only control the Title 10 AC forces. There will also be a general officer assigned as a dual status commander who will control both Title 10 forces and Title 32 forces (mobilized NG controlled by the governor but paid for through federal Stafford funds). Only the Title 32 forces will have law enforcement authorities, and the Title 10 forces will provide combat support and combat service support functions. It has all been built with the specific intent of preventing the military from acting as a law enforcement agency.

PFM

When I was at the WTC site during 9/11 it went something like this: 3 or 4 of us knuckleheads in uniform accompanied by 1 or 2 NYPD. We provided manpower, they provided arrests for those that got stupid.

Bobo

I provided the O-6 chop on DODI 3025.21 for my organization, and briefed my 4 star, who was my organization’s rep on the JCS when this went forward, on my recommendations. I think that I found the offending paragraphs,Enclosure 3, paras 1.b.(3).(a) and (b), based on a web site that has almost a verbatim version of your message. If you read the paragraph, a military commander can ” engage temporarily in activities that are necessary to quell large-scale, unexpected civil disturbances.” You’ll also see that the paragraph states “When permitted under emergency authority in accordance with Reference (c).” Reference (c) is DODD 3028.18 (for which I also provided an O-6 level chop). 3025.18 para 4.g. specifies that this “immediate response authority” can only be exercised under certain conditions, specifically: “In response to a request for assistance from a civil authority, under imminently serious conditions and if time does not permit approval from higher authority, DoD officials may provide an immediate response by temporarily employing the resources under their control, subject to any supplemental direction provided by higher headquarters, to save lives, prevent human suffering, or mitigate great property damage within the United States. Immediate response authority does not permit actions that would subject civilians to the use of military power that is regulatory, prescriptive, proscriptive, or compulsory.” So, Enclosure 3, paras 1.b.(3).(a) and (b)can only be executed if federal assistance is requested by a civil authority (mayor, town council, governor, etc.), and for no longer than 72 hrs without specific direction from POTUS. As you can see there is no usurpation of power by the military so that they can “you and throw away the key and without due process of law.” Finally, both of these are Dept. of Defense publications and do not have the ability to trump any existing law. As a point of information, when I chopped on both of those documents, I specifically looked for loopholes where the federal government might try to usurp power and authority from the states. My immediate supervisor did the same. This caused some pretty heated discussions regarding the immediate response… Read more »

Enigma4you

I get a little bit sick of hearing the military is going after civilians.

This site is Mostly Vets, some have been out a lifetime and others are still serving.

So Speak up if you were ever given the order to take control of a US citizen. Did any of you ever arrest or detain a civilian?

Yep thats what I thought.

I hear Hurricane Katrina brought up a lot. most of the time its a second or third hand story of someone who had a gun taken from them by a police officer.

News flash, I was there. Right in the middle of it, I was there before the national Guard got there. I was there before the rain stopped. Before the levees broke.

It sucked the big hairy one. I saw the looting, I saw the stupidity. I saw the worst and best people have to offer.

I had a gun on me at all times, I interacted with the local police and the national guard, I was never once asked to give up my weapon, in fact we were encouraged to carry in a responsible manner. I was there when Rita hit a few weeks later. I spent a lot of time in that area in the months that followed.

Ex-PH2

And I saw looters shooting at news helicopters in several places.

So this whole idea that the military is going to round us up is twaddle. If the military is about 2.5 million (I think it’s less right now), how are they going to round up 310 million of us, never mind the wetbacks?

MGySgtRet.

Some will be easy to round up. Just tell them Uncle Sugar has some more free shit, if they will just get on the bus!!

Enigma4you

We started in Gulf Port Ms. A tower had been severely damaged and was going to fall, blocking the Main route in that area.

We dropped it and regrouped, we had no idea how bad things had gotten.

We had enough fuel and food with us to last a few days. We set a 60 Gallon reserve, meaning that when I truck had only 60 gallons of fuel in it it was time to head back to civilization.

Katrina had a steep learning curve. I had worked disasters before and until last year had worked every disaster on the east coast since. Katrina ans Rita were the worst. At one point we were asked to look for burial vaults that had surfaced and floated. We spotted several from the towers.

The stuff they showed on TV did not even begin to reflect what the reality was. The people there were not prepared for what hit. IT was there own fault, they ignored the warnings and then waited and bitched because help took so long to arrive. When it dod come they were more interested in what they could get than helping themselves.

I personally saw a NG helicopter land with a load of supplies for a shelter. No one would help them move the water ond other needed stuff.

IT pisses me off when I hear someone say anything negative about how the Guard reacted. Those men and women worked non stop, often 30 to 40 hours at a stretch doing nothing but their best to help in a bad situation. Many of them had lost everything they had and still answered the call. FOr anyone to use that as an example of government conspiracy or anything other than a humanitarian act is awful.
