Leroy Brown goes down

Rob sends us a link to update our story about crooked-ass Leroy Brown, Junior, the financial adviser who we wrote about last week. It looks like the Securities and Exchange Commission have shut the fellow down;
On April 13, 2015, the SEC obtained a temporary restraining order and emergency asset freeze against Leroy Brown, Jr. and his firm, LB Stocks and Trades Advice LLC to halt this ongoing and fraudulent scheme. The SEC’s complaint accuses Brown and LB Stocks and Trades Advice LLC of using false pretenses to solicit funds from investors, many of whom are active members of the U.S. military, including those serving at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas. Brown exploited relationships he made during his time in the military, as well as his own military experience, to gain investors’ trust. He assured investors that he had years of experience in the securities markets, and that he and companies he controlled had all necessary licenses and registrations with the SEC and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Brown promised investors he would double or triple their money, and that his investments could not lose.
According to the SEC, these claims were false. Brown and his companies have no securities licenses, and Brown himself has no evident experience with investments.
I guess the SEC is only seeking civil relief and they want to get the money back (not that it will do the actual investors any good), so you folks be careful out there. My investments are with a very reputable, well-known mutual fund company. If we learned anything from Fred Flinstone it’s that there is no actual get-rich-quick scheme. investing takes patience. Only the greedy get ripped off.

Bad, bad……
Just a caveat to the last statement: “Only the greedy (and the ignorant) get ripped off.”
Although greed does tend to magnify the effect of ignorance, and serves as an obstacle to efforts at overcoming said ignorance by doing some simple research and investigation.
If a financial advisor guarantees to double or triple your money, he’s lying.
Run, do not walk, to the nearest exit. And don’t look back.
There’s an old saying: “If something seems ‘too good to be true’ . . . it probably is.”
An investment that claims it will “double or triple your money with no risk of loss” almost always falls into that category.
But Bernie Madoff said……
Will Leroy Brown Jr. get to see the inside of a poundhimin the ass prison and get to meet, up close and personal, the BOHICA Brothers (Thor, Julio, Bubba and Mr. Tiny)? Will they get to serve him some cockmeat sammiches and have tossed salad (with marmalade and croutons)? And, what about Betty Lou?
Looks like we’re gonna have to wait and see…
Can we say…
All.
Points.
Logistics.
Can you say CFO??? I knew you could!
I was thinking more along the lines of an “in house” financial advisor.
We know that Commander Phil Monkress, the CEO of All-Points Logistics, steals from the public and taxpayers through his nefarious and false Native American, Law Enforcement and Navy SEAL claims.
If we were to take this statement as fact, which it is, then it is not a far stretch to assume that he either is or has no compunction about stealing from his employees.
Bringing this turd on board would make perfect sense. Phildo could pretend that he cares about his folks and steer them to this turd for advice on retirement (if they make it at APL that long). That way this maggot could screw them out of funds that they invest while pushing them over to Phildo’s pocket. All the while APL employees believe that Phildo really cares about them. A win-win from his point of view.
Makes sense when you think about it.
BOHICA Brothers. I need keyboard wipes now.
Leroy looks like a jigsaw puzzle with a couple of pieces gone…
Or, at least, he should.
I wouldn’t trust any investment counselor who can’t tie a Windsor knot.
That’s funny.
There is nothing to stop the DoJ from pursuing Mr. Brown criminally. The SEC’s burden is a lot less. It is unusual for the SEC to first bring a civil lawsuit and then DoJ to prosecute.
Damn, I know this guy personally. He was my Platoon Sgt in the military. Spent a lot of time at a Ranger unit and was really a high-speed kind of guy. He was a wild card, but he was all about supporting his soldiers and doing what he could to help the one’s underneath him.
My friends and I really can’t believe he did anything like this. Stealing from Vets, it’s despicable, and it hurts to hear about from someone I admired in a sense.
Saw him posting on FB w/ a brand new Corvette and new Jeep truck. Pushing his company all over his page. Surprising things turned out this way.
So no jail time I’m guessing?
Well he is a crook he stole 30,000 from me and one of my business partners. Now he is on the run… so if you or anyone sees him we are expecting to let authorities know own asap
Has criminal charges been filed? If so, what was the outcome?
I’m trying to figure this out on my own. I’m seeking help from a lawyer at the moment. he needs to be in jail. I realy trusted this low life. if anyone knows his whereabout please let us know. he has been on the run so no one can ind him. but I will be filing a police report against him for still my 30k
