Third world comes to Memphis
WREG reports on a group of high school students that “swarmed” a gas station and beat a customer after a sucker punch in broad daylight;
“As I was going out the door this other gentleman walked out and hollered at them and asked them to be quiet and get off of the parking lot,” Fuller said.
“As we get to the car they are in the parking lot throwing up gang signs and putting up a ruckus,” Orrden Williams, Jr. said.
Williams, the man seen in the video being attacked, told WREG one of the kids “sucker punched” him.
After Williams had been punched in the head, dozens of teenagers swarmed the gas station.
Customers inside of the store jumped, and workers held the door shut as the teens rushed the entryway.
On second thought, it probably never happens in the third world, either

Just one of many reasons that I am armed 24/7/365. When I leave the house I have one or more firearms, and several blades just in case I find myself in this type situation. And, my best weapon is my situational awareness.
The guy implies that he was armed. Can see where it wouldn’t do much good with that many hoods.
There’s always the Wyatt Earp/Raylan Givens approach:

And if one starts running his mouth, a la Ike Clanton,

I like it, but i CC a Glock 22 or a Colt 1911 (I know, I’m torn), so I should get more than 6 of’em;)
I did say “at least” six.
With a .38 wheel gun in one hand and a .45 1911 in the other, many of them would have fallen over the bodies of their buddies who were in the first wave of the attack. In a similar situation, I may go down, but the landing would be softened by the bodies that I had laid first.
Wile I appreciate wheelguns and am one of those fogies mentioned a few days ago who believes in carrying a .357, if you have a .45 why not carry a compact .45 as a back-up gun? Same ammo, in most you can use a standard 7 or 8 round M1911 magazine as a reload… simplifies your reloads. Just a thought.
Because David, a wheel gun is nearly jam proof, while the semi-autos within my budget are not. I have a 1911 that I bought 45 years ago, is almost completely mil-spec, and I know it intimately. No other semi-auto in my price range has acceptable performance.
Can’t argue with the revolver’s attributes… but also can’t remember seeing any of the compact 1911s jam, either. Just a suggestion, since you seem to take guns seriously.
Being armed doesn’t do any good if you’re not willing to use it. Might as well have 911 on speed dial.

PUNKS like those little shits in Memphis are like skinheads, they only feel bold when they outnumber their intended victim by at least 6 to 1 or if they outweigh their intended victim by 2 to 1 like in Ferguson. A Concealed Carry Firearm is VERY useful in taking the fight out of punks like that because most of them will flee at the thought of getting shot or caught by “The Man” when Police come to do the paperwork. Me. I prefer a .357 Magnum revolver, but I’ll also carry my good ‘ol M1911. You can reload a semi-auto weapon much faster, but if you have a misfire, you have to work the slide while the SHTF and with a revolver you just pull the trigger one more time.
I’m thinking high school kids would lose their enthusiasm quickly when staring down the barrel of a handgun held by someone willing and able to pull the trigger.

There is a “Black Lives Matter” protest today (now) in the Civic Centre in lower Manhattan. They are trying to disrupt the Vanity Fair Reception (inside NYS courthouse) that is being held as the Tribecca Film Festival opens.
Note to protesters: the Tribecca Film Festival was started post 9/11 to bring good will and money to an area devastated by the terrorists attacks. It has NOTHING to do with black or white lives. It is a gesture of good will by one man … Robert Deniro!

Once, while TDY to Memphis, I was bored and decided to take a walk. The building’s security guard asked me where I was going; I told him I didn’t know and that if anyone was looking for me I’d be back in an hour or so. He asked me if I was nuts, people get shot out there he cried.
This was over 20 years ago. When are people going to learn their socialist hand holding, boo-hooing, everyone’s special way of governing is not working?

The news readers called them teenagers, teens, kids, and children. First, I don’t recall hearing their ages. Second, a “mob of thugs” is just one better description.
