Wednesday morning feel good stories
Our first story this morning comes from Florida, where they stand their ground;
[Belgie ] Tapia said she heard a knock at the door and when she looked out the window she saw what she thought was a UPS driver delivering a package. She said she saw a man with a UPS hat and shirt on.
“I proceeded to open the door and that’s when he put the gun to my face and told me to lay down on the ground,” Tapia said.
Deputies said that man was 23-year-old Travis Brown. An accomplice, 24-year-old Kayla Oharrow, followed him inside.
“They proceeded to put the gun to my head and threaten me,” Tapia said. “If I didn’t find them anything of value they were going to shoot me.”
It all happened while her 2-year-old daughter was crying in the next room.
But what the thieves didn’t know is that her older brother, Jose, had seen them breaking in on their home security system. Tapia told Local 6 he called 911, which spooked the pair into running out of the house.
Deputies said Jose chased after the suspects and used a shotgun to fire at them.
The next stop is in Texas;
The incident happened about 1:30 a.m. at a private home off Highway 84, west of Teague.
Initial reports indicate three teens forced their way into the home, and at least one of them was armed.
The homeowner was shot in the stomach. He was also armed and returned fire at the robbers, shooting one of the suspects, who then fled.
19-year-old Joshua Mulkey was found dead just outside the home. Two 18-year-olds, O’Jarion McClenon and Lawson Abram, were taken into custody after being found nearby. They are in the Freestone County Jail each facing a count of aggravated robbery.

Actually, the two Texas survivors may face manslaughter charges for the death of their accomplice. It is a tough life as a thug, especially when you are an idiot.
“each facing a count of aggravated robbery”
Don’t forget attempted murder for shooting the homeowner.
The other criminal died. That would bring murder charges. Would it not?
Yep! God bless Texas!
Teague is not known for leniecy. The two yutes will be better off served taking plea bargains than facing a jury. Joe
In my state if you’re complicit in a violent crime, resulting in the victim’s or accomplice’s death, you are then subject to a murder charge as well.
