Thursday morning feel good story

| February 19, 2015

This morning’s feel good story comes from close to the TAH National Headquarters & Resort in West Virginia;

The suspect entered the Good Family Pharmacy in Kanawha County Tuesday morning wearing a mask.

“The guy was walking around with a mask on and my pharmacist joked, ‘He must be here to rob us,’” said owner Patrick Good. “Whenever he said that the guy pulled a gun.”

Good said the would-be thief was probably after prescription pills, but couldn’t confirm that because he didn’t have time to state his demands.

“The guy pulled the gun and jumped in front of a customer in line and was pointing the gun at the employees,” said Good. “That’s when my guy pulled his gun and shot him three times.”

The pharmacist on duty had a .45 and fired three shots. The first shot hit the robber in the chest and he went down, but he raised the gun again. The employee, who had a conceal carry permit, fired a second and third shot. One of those hit the suspect’s gun in his hand and the other shot hit him in the abdomen.

Reports says that the target is in critical condition, easy to believe when he’s been struck by three .45 caliber bullets. Thanks to Chief Tango for the link.

When are these criminal types going to learn some subtlety?

Wait ’til you get to the cashier station to use the mask!

The pharmacist is a damn good shot.

Three rounds, 3 hits – including one rather difficult target (gun in hand), with the other two in the perp’s torso.

Yep, good shooting, and also an observant employee. There won’t be any question of guilt when he goes to trial.

Seeing as how he’s in the hospital in critical condition, I’d have to guess he’s getting those “prescription pills” after all. Hard way to go about filling an order, though.

Updated story says that the robber died. Some very interesting comments.

Now I feel all warm and fuzzy.

I couldn’t take it. Had to throw my $0.02 in because of the cry babies weepin’ and wailin’, and general breast-beating.

How do these cretins even manage to breed?

But – I thought a solid hit from a .45 would devastate, explode, and otherwise render someone instantly inertly dead right there? Sorry, poking a little fun at the folks who think nothing else works – actually, this is a good object lesson in how a solid killing shot is not necessarily a solid stopping shot. As the man said “don’t shoot till you think he’s dead, shoot till HE thinks he’s dead.”
(Oh, and I’ll bet cash green money that ‘hand shot’ was accidental – from the sound of it, the pharmacist was not playing games.)

Probably a defensive wound in the hand and caused the bullet to change the trajectory. The third shot hitting him in the abdomen is no doubt the one that put a stop to any movement.
I would bet that the first shot to the chest hit him directly in the sternum and shattered that sending shrapnel into his lungs and possibly wounding his heart severely at that point.
It was probably not enough damage to lower the blood pressure enough to stop him from losing consciousness.
Either way, he’s off to the great ghetto in the sky to ply his trade with the demons he grew while he was upright and taking nourishment…

Now, thats a first! Handshot by the victim! Hah! Fricking excellent! even if it was by pure luck. Only other time I’ve seen or heard of a hand being shot was a cop (forget her name now) that faced off against an AK47 wielding suspect during a traffic stop. Lost her left finger. I’ll see if I can find that article, think PoliceOne had it…
