Media notices stolen valor

Starbucks EOD valor thief

We featured this story the other day when Christian Parmer caught the guy in the picture above trolling through Fresno airport for discounts wearing a uniform he didn’t earn. In this interview with Fox News, Parmer tells us that the fake was wearing a Confederate Flag patch on the uniform in place of the American flag. What a dingleberry.

But, at least the media is taking notice of these incidents, finally, instead of just the higher profile cases. I guess Stolen Valor is going to take the place of the media’s fascination with high-speed car chases through Los Angeles in the coming months.

I’d say that this will reflect poorly on veterans as a whole, but since most of us don’t mention our service generally, and we especially don’t wear military uniforms out in public, it probably won’t affect the rest of us much, except maybe in the public perception of veterans in general.

But, I think this dude’s days of discounts is through, but I wish Specialist Parmer and the police had got this fellow’s name before they let him slink away. or put him on a plane to Afghanistan to disarm some IEDs since he wants to play the role;

Just like Sean Yetman, I an confident that the public will see this and then his identity will be revealed.
THEN the shit will hit the fan for him, particularly since there is credible evidence that he got tangible (albeit, not much) benefit (20% off a coffee) and that’s prosecutable.
At least he’s been publicly shamed and it’s viral.

streetsweeper

he’ll be caught. it only takes time.

Two thing I also said in the other thread that need to be repeated…
1. I bet he doesn’t have a step son.
2. He knew full well he was wearing that to be a poser.

Oh and Streetsweeper

It’s Eugene Levy 😀 😀

The only time I wear anything close to my uniform is my old winter-weight BDUs when I help with annual blackberry clearing from a local summer camp. I’m thankful for the thicker material, especially when a wall of thorny vines topples and I’m under it.

Then again, I removed my rank, unit patch, and skill tab off of them. I still have my name tape and flag, though.

Twist

I will sometimes wear my cargo belt. It is really good for clipping a holster onto. I also still have my arctic mittens which are the cat’s meow.

Ex-344MP

I wear my boonie hat still, and my gortex jacket.

I can’t bring myself to let go of the jacket, it’s Gortex after all.

The ECWCS jacket was one of the best bits of gear I was ever issued…will keep mine forever and pass it down to my son!

Ex-PH2

Well, one of these days I might just be able to get back into my old dark blues, but I have no idea what happened to my bucket hat or the three dozen white short-sleeved shirts I had or the four ties, so I’m kind of screwed.

But I will won’t wear that stuff unless there’s a good reason to do so. It’s one thing to dress up like a Spacefleet Commando with BAT-V647 on shore leave and go mingle at Windycon.

It’s another thing entirely to NOT serve but PRETEND that you did, just to GET STUFF.

These people are pissing me off. It would please me mightily if they GOT STUFFED.

John Robert Mallernee

Just about the only thing that guy did correctly was to wear the Confederate flag on the United States Army uniform.

YEEEE-HAW ! ! !

That comment is incredibly retarded it must be a side effect of medication.

2/17 Air Cav

I’m guessing he goes full prom queen, at least until his mug ceases being published and broadcast nationwide.

A Proud Infidel®™

I hope he he’s curled up somewhere in the fetal position bawling about being caught!!

I think it’s great that the media is exposing shithead posers for who they are,
But I think the media is using this to get people to scrutinize those in uniform, and show some contempt toward those that have served. By getting the ball rolling to change public opinion about what they see when someone is in uniform. The media does not like the military, and any thing to show contempt is on the agenda. I sure hope I’m not right about this, but as a veteran from the time of vietnam and remembering my welcome home. I see the media as always agenda driven and usually full of shit… They can’t be trusted.

No LE experience, but it seems that the Police Officers are well aware of his name and record? They query him about a tattoo after he gives them some PII.

It’s far easier to shake down companies if you just cry racism and extort them.

Stolen valor phonies are doing way too much work when they don’t have too.
